Faunus

Fun Fact: Son (y/n) from Highschool DxD: Legends can play the drums. He can't play them well, but he can play them nonetheless.

"You were right, Ruby. It's suprisingly nice outside," stated Weiss as the team walked along the streets of Vale.

"And to think that you doubted your excellent and amazing leader!" shouted Ruby with an added enthusiasm.

Team RWBY reached the dock as the cool ocean air waved over them.

"I'd like to try fishing sometime," said Yang as she looked to the boat pulling into the harbor, "I heard it's supposed to be fun."

"If I wanted some fish, I would buy it instead of going through all that trouble..." muttered Blake.

"Stop right there!"

A blond-haired stowaway ran out of the ship and passed Team RWBY.

The stowaway, now close enough to notice the golden tail on his waist, winked at Blake before running off with Vale Police in hot pursuit.

"Who was that?" asked Ruby as the chase continued on.

"Did he just wink at you?" laughed Yang.

"I'm... not sure," said Blake, looking just as confused as everyone else.

"Tch. Just another Faunus causing trouble..." stated Weiss.

"What do you mean by 'just another Faunus'?" said Blake angrily.

"It's been statistically proven that Faunus are more likely to commit some sort of crime than their human counterparts," said Weiss.

"That doesn't mean anything! How can you be so short-sighted?!" yelled Blake.

"Me?! Short-sighted?! What did we just see earlier?!" responded Weiss.

"I can't believe you!" shouted Blake.

"This is getting out of hand..." whispered Yang to Ruby as Blake and Weiss stormed off.

"Yeah... This won't end well," said Ruby as she watched her two teammates argue.

Jaune walked through the halls of Beacon Academy on his way to his next class.

Out of nowhere, Jaune was shoved into the wall by Cardin.

"Hey, there! Ready for some fun?!" said, Cardin, as he tried to hold in his laughter.

His other teammates stood right behind him, laughing at the sight.

Jaune tried to walk away, but Cardin shoved him back onto the wall.

"Where do you think you're going? The fun is just starting!"

"I'm going to class..." muttered Jaune.

Cardin and the others mocked him as they continued to laugh at him and harass him.

"Can't you guys just knock it off?" said Jaune.

"Hey, there..." said Cardin, "Getting all excited there, aren't we? I don't think you'd want us to tell the headmaster about your... situation, now would we?"

Cardin had just recently found out that Jaune never officially made it into the school. He was a fraud. Cardin was using this as leverage to pick on him as he pleased.

"Why don't we teach him a lesson?"

The three boys behind him chuckled as Cardin raised his fist.

Jaune braced for the blow, but it never came.

Pyrrha Nikos had held him back.

"I would greatly appreciate it if you leave my friends alone..."

Cardin and his team backed off, remembering the beat-down that Pyrrha gave them earlier.

"Tch... Fine!"

Pyrrha watched as Team CRDL walked away and then turned back to Jaune.

"Are you okay?!"

"I-I'm fine..."

Pyrrha placed her hands on Jaune's cheeks.

"Are you sure?!"

The two stood there until they both turned away each other with blushing faces.

"Jaune... I..."

"Listen, Pyrrha... You don't need to keep coming in to save me... I can handle myself..."

Jaune walked away with his head hung as Pyrrha hugged one of her arms to her body...

"Jaune..."

"And that brings me to the White Fang," said Weiss as she continued to walk down the street, "They're just thugs who don't have anything better to do than just cause trouble!"

"What would you know?!" countered Blake, "They're just misunderstood! Can you really blame them? The Faunus have been oppressed for years! It's only natural that a group would demand equality!"

"Equality?! Oh, really?! All the dust robberies are 'equality'?!"

"There's no proof of that!!!"

"Why are you being so defensive about this?!"

"It's because I'm-!"

Weiss ran into someone, cutting off Blake.

"Watch where you're going!" yelled Blake.

"O-Oh! Please forgive me!" said the orange-haired girl.

"No problem!" said Ruby as both she and Yang caught up to the arguing couple.

After a bit of awkward silence, the orange-haired girl spoke up.

"My name is Penny!" shouted the girl.

"O-Oh... I'm Ruby... Well... I'll be seeing you... friend!"

"Friend?! Are we friends?! Do you mean it?!"

The other members of Team RWBY backed up at her enthusiasm.

"Yeah... Definitely!"

The girls walked away, leaving Penny in awe.

"Wow..."

"Even so, that yellow-haired faunus is still a criminal, just like the rest of the White Fang."

"Just stop! You're just a brat who can't keep her mouth shut!"

"I have my reasons for hating them..." muttered Weiss.

"Oh, really? And what would that be?!"

"The White Fang is responsible for most of the hardships of the Schnee Dust Company."

Blake was taken aback at her comment.

Ruby and Yang just sat there in the dorm awkwardly.

"The White Fang and the Schnee Dust Company have been at war for years... They've killed people that I've known for years... People I loved... They stole pounds and pounds of Dust, going so far as to rob an entire train's worth of Dust... Their actions have infuriated my father, leading to a... rough childhood..."

Weiss' hands balled into fists as she continued to speak.

"They're just a bunch of liars, thieves, and murderers!"

"WELL, MAYBE WE'RE JUST TIRED OF BEING PUSHED AROUND!!!"

The room fell silent as Blake stuttered a bit.

The moonlight fell on (y/n)'s skin as he walked around on the roof of Beacon Academy.

He looked down to see Blake and a yellow-haired faunus run off together.

He tilted his head back and let the moon shined on his body.

"Faunus, huh?"

"It's complicated, Sun."

"I don't see how it is. Those creeps are just troublemakers..."

The golden-haired Faunus sipped the cup of tea with his tail.

Blake raised an eyebrow at his unorthodox behavior as she drank her tea.

"And about the White Fang, I was part of it."

Sun almost choked on his tea.

"For reals?!"

"Yeah... I was... young. One could say I was born into it. You remember the Faunus Rights Revolution, right?"

Sun scratched his head a bit before speaking.

"Oh! Yeah! That event that happened a while back. I heard it was pretty intense..."

"I was young and naive and so was the White Fang. Back then, it was seen as a symbol of peace and unity between Faunus and Human... But even so, the Faunus were still treated as inferior... I was at every boycott, every protest, and every rally. I thought I could make a change."

"Blake... I'm sorry. I didn't realize that..."

"No. It's okay. I'm not ashamed..."

Sun continued to drink his tea as Blake told her tale.

"However, 5 years ago, the new leader of the White Fang began to twist the group with his radical and violent ideas... Protests turned into hijackings and murders... Hating what the White Fang became, I left it... Violence is no way for coexistence..."

"Have you told your friends about any of this?

"Well... I..."

The remaining members of Team RWBY sweeped the streets for their lost teammate.

"Blake's been gone for a couple of days now," worried Ruby.

"Yeah... Where could she have gone?" said Yang, "And I still want to hear her side of the story..."

"Whatever," stated Weiss, "She's a criminal. We should contact the police."

"We are not contacting the police," said Yang sternly.

"Your hair is really pretty!"

Ruby and the others turned around to see Penny standing behind them.

"White looks good on you!"

"W-Why thank you," said Weiss awkwardly.

"No problem! What are you guys doing?"

"We're looking for our friend, Blake. She's been missing for a few days now."

"Well, then... I'll help you!"

"I-I think that we're all good on our end, right?"

Ruby turned to Weiss and Yang, only for them to not be there.

"They left me?!" thought Ruby.

Ruby turned back to Penny, who offered to help her find Blake once again.

Ruby and Penny walked around the streets of Vale as they looked for Blake.

"I'm a bit confused," said Penny, "Blake is your friend, right?"

"Of course she is!" said Ruby.

"But she ran away..."

"Yeah... I hoped that she would at least talked to us before she left."

"If I had a friend, I would certainly want them to talk to me about those kinds of things."

"Yeah... I would too..."

The golden sun danced on the clouds as the sun began to set.

(y/n) walked out of the school with his weapons on hand.

Ozpin watched from his tower as (y/n) walked towards the water that separated Beacon from Vale.

The young man just stood at the water's edge, looking at the town in front of him.

"Blake..."

"You shouldn't steal food..."

"What?! A guy needs to eat!"

Blake and Sun stood on top of a roof at the docks.

"Pay attention. A large shipment of Dust is coming in from the Schnee Dust Company. Hopefully, the White Fang won't attack the shipment..."

"If they do, at least we can split some skulls!"

"Sun..."

After a bit of waiting, a bullhead flew into the harbor.

White Fang members began to file out of the ship and crack into the Dust shipments.

"I had a feeling that the White Fang was behind this, but I hoped that I was wrong..."

"Let's get 'em!"

"Wait..."

A man with dark-green eyes and bright, orange hair stepped out of the ship.

"Come on, you animals! Load up that Dust before the authorities get here!"

"I-I don't understand..." said Blake, "The White Fang would never work with a human..."

Blake got up and began to maneuver around the crates of Dust.

She was able to sneak up behind the orange-haired man and press the Gambol Shroud to his throat.

Blake pulled the ribbon off her ears, revealing her black cat ears.

"Brothers and Sisters of the White Fang! Why do you associate yourselves with a human?!"

The surrounding White Fang members began to lower their weapons, looking at each other and unsure what to do.

"Oh! How embarrassing!" laughed the orange-haired man, "Didn't you get the memo? The White Fang and I are on a bit of a joint venture together!"

Blake pressed the blade closer to his throat.

"Tell me what it is or I'll put an end to your little operation..."

A large wind came from above as more Bullheads came from the sky.

"Well... I wouldn't call it a little operation..."

With Blake distracted, the orange-haired man was able to use his cane, which happened to his weapon and fired it at the ground, causing a huge explosion.

Ruby and Penny wandered through the streets of Vale until a large explosion came from the docks a few buildings away.

"Oh, no..."

The orange-haired man apporached a downed Blake, weapon in hand.

He was about to deliver the killing blow until he slipped on a banana peel and fell flat on the floor, allowing Blake to get away.

"Leave her alone!"

Sun jumped down from the rooftop with a gold and red staff.

Suddenly, more White Fang members came from the bullheads that just arrived and surrounded Sun.

"You're not the brightest banana in the bunch, aren't you?"

The White Fang members charged Sun, but he was able to hold them off.

The orange-haired man pointed his cane at the fighting Sun, ready to shoot him until Blake charged in distracting him.

"You're mine!"

Blake attacked Roman, giving him a run for his money until Sun joined in on the assault.

He split his staff into two, revealing shotgun nunchucks.

Even with the combined efforts of Blake and Sun, the orange-haired man was able to hold his own.

The orange-haired man was able to push Sun and Blake back.

He was just about to shoot them both until a familiar voice rang out.

"Hey!"

Ruby stood face-to-face with Roman, Crescent Rose in hand.

Losing interest in Sun, the orange-haired man turned to Ruby.

"Well, Red! Isn't it past your bedtime?"

"Are these people your friends?" asked Penny as she stood by Ruby.

"Penny! Get back!" yelled Ruby.

Before Penny could heed Ruby's advice, a blast from Roman's cane sent Ruby down into the dirt.

Penny walked towards the orange-haired man and the White Fang reinforcements.

"Wait, Penny! Stop!" begged Ruby.

"Don't worry, Ruby!" said Penny confidently, "I'm combat ready!"

The backpack on Penny opened up to reveal a single sword that floated out from it. One blade became several as she attacked the White Fang.

Sun and Blake watched in awe as Penny began to defeat the White Fang.

"What's with- Blake! Watch out!"

A lingering White Fang member snuck up behind Blake.

She recoiled, ready for the following pain, but it never came.

When she opened her eyes, she saw (y/n) blocking the attack with his sword.

A loud pop rang out as the White Fang member dropped to the floor in a pool of his own blood.

"(y/n)?! How did you even get here?!"

He looked the Blake and Sun.

Then he just ran off as if he didn't even hear them.

(y/n) began to assist Penny in the battle against the White Fang.

"Hey, there! Are you a friend too?"

Penny waited for a response from the young man, but one never came.

"Well... At least he's helping me..."

Ruby finally got up to see (y/n) and Penny working together.

"When did Zero get here?! Ah! This day just keeps getting weirder!"

(y/n) and Penny was able to bring down most of the White Fang, but a stray bullet passed right through the young man's chest.

"O-Oh, no!"

Penny rushed over to aid (y/n), who began to bleed out on the ground.

Sun and Blake also rushed over as they tried to stop bleeding.

However, (y/n) just shrugged them off.

"You can't move yet!" said Blake, "You've been shot!"

(y/n) pressed to where the point of impact was.

The wound was completely healed.

"I-It's okay?!"

He got up and looked at the rest of the White Fang forces.

He drew his blade for only a moment, and then in the next moment, it was back in its sheath.

Everything was normal for a second, and then the remaining ground troops fell to the ground and the bullheads began to crash.

"W-What just happened?" asked Ruby.

"I don't know," responded Blake, "He was just standing there for a second... And then they all just died..."

"But how is that even possible?!" said Sun.

One bullhead crashed particularly close to Blake and the others, causing a large smokescreen to fill the air.

Blake coughed as she tried to search for her teammates.

Instead, she was face-to-face with (y/n).

"Are you okay?"

She blinked a bit.

Blake never really heard his voice before.

"Y-Yeah... Just some minor wounds..."

"I would've come sooner, but this body doesn't really cooperate with me all too well."

"Cooperate? What do you mean?"

"It's just... How do I... Maybe some other time..."

Smoke enveloped (y/n), making him disappear from sight.

It was later in the night.

The dock was a complete mess, broken crates of Dust everywhere.

Ruby, Blake, Sun, and Penny sat on some boxes in silence as police cars surrounded the area.

(y/n) was lying on the ground, looking at the night sky with wide eyes, picking at his blood-stained clothing.

Eventually, Weiss and Yang appeared at the scene.

Ruby instantly got up and tried to talk down an angry looking Weiss.

"Weiss! It's not what you think! She explained everything! See, she doesn't actually have a bow, she has kitty ears! It's kinda cute..."

Weiss ignored her Ruby and walked right past her to get to Blake.

Blake and Weiss squared off once again, with Ruby and the others looking on with worried faces.

"Weiss, I want you to know that I'm no longer associated with the White Fang, I-!"

"Just stop!" commanded Weiss, "Do you have any idea how long we've been searching for you."

Weiss paused for a moment before speaking again.

"Twelve hours. That means I've had twelve hours to think... And in those twelve hours, I've decided... I don't care."

"You... Don't care?" asked a surprised Blake.

"You said you're not one of them, right?"

"No... I haven't been since-"

"Ah! Nope! Stop! I don't even want to hear it. All I want to know is that next time something big like this comes up, you'll come to us and not some..."

Weiss looked behind her to see Sun.

"Someone else..."

Blake looked to a smiling Ruby and Yang as she wiped a tear from her eye.

"Of course..."

Ruby hugged Blake and Weiss as she cheered, "Yay! Team RWBY is back together!"

Weiss turned to the young man on the floor.

"I still don't know what to think about you."

(y/n) turned his head to Weiss for a moment, and then went back to looking at the stars.

Ruby looked around, a bit confused.

"Wait, where's Penny?"

Penny looked on from the window of a limo.

"You should know better than to go running around in a strange city."

"I know, sir," said Penny sadly.

"Penny, your time will come..."

"So that's how it is, huh?"

Ozpin scratched the back of his head.

"That's the report I got," said Glynda.

"If he can heal at abnormal rates... That means our theory was right... He is a part of Her..."

"That does present complications..." muttered Glynda.

Ozpin's scroll rang.

"Queen has Pawns."

The orange-haired man walked into a dark warehouse.

"Damn kids just keep getting weirder and weirder..."

"How very disappointing, Roman..."

Roman turned quickly at the source of the voice.

"Woah, there! I wasn't expecting to see you guys so soon..."

Four figures stood in the darkness.

One figure came out, revealing herself as a woman with yellow eyes and flowing black hair.

"We were expecting... much more from you..."

"Hey! You were the one to suggest to work with those White Fang mutts!"

"And you will continue to do so..."

The black-haired woman summoned a fireball that revealed her other associates.

One of them was a pale, well-built young man with gray eyes and grey hair.

Another was a young woman with brown skin, red eyes, and mint green hair.

The final figure was none other than (y/n) himself.

"Hey! You're that kid!"

"Indeed I am! I must say, what a sloppy job on the Dust Operation!"

"Maybe," yelled Roman, "I'd do a bit better if I didn't have this little punk in my way!"

"We should've gotten somebody other than this scum..."

The black-haired girl put her hand on (y/n)'s shoulder, signaling him to calm down.

"In any case... We have big plans for you, Roman... All we ask for... is a little cooperation..."
