"Blixer, wh-what are you..."
Cyan couldn't stop staring at his old friend. Blixer stood at the edge of the cliff, bathed in the moonlight, unresponsive, his pale pink skin and bright, stuck up pink hair illuminated with the light. His one left eye stared off into an unknown distance while the other was a gaping black hole covered with an eyepatch. His black leather jacket billowed in the soft wind, arms slumped by his sides.
"Blixer, can you hear me?" Cyan shouted louder. "BLIXER!"
At last, Blixer turned to face him, and Cyan gasped. His eye which was hidden by an eyepatch was bleeding a black, inky substance, and thanks to the moonlight he could see the liquid visibly soaking the patch. His mouth filled with sharp white teeth hung slightly open, and his only pink pupil was dilated. Cyan took a step backwards in fear.
What happened to him?
To his surprise, Blixer started walking forwards robotically, slowly approaching him. The cyan-haired boy immediately stepped back again. His footsteps were rigid and stiff, and that stare, which was filled with a dead look in it, was deeply unsettling.
This is getting too scary. "BLIXER!" Cyan yelled. "Snap out of it, you idiot! What're you doing?!"
However, Blixer was unphased, as if he didn't hear what Cyan just said. His footsteps started to grow quicker and quicker, and without warning, he lunged at the teen, arms outstretched and sharp teeth bared like a wolf.
Cyan screamed as Blixer landed right on top of him and the two tumbled down the hill painfully, desperately trying to kick the larger man off him. But Blixer's grip was too strong on his arm and his shirt. When they reached the foot of the hill, dizzy and bruised, Cyan had no time to rest as Blixer snapped and snarled, aggressively clawing at him and literally trying to bite his face off.
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!" Cyan screamed again as Blixer narrowly missed biting his nose off. Cyan was always the type to swear whenever he's scared something catches him off guard. "SNAP OUT OF IT AND GET OFF OF ME, GODDAMMIT!"
Cyan mustered up a large amount of his strength and kicked Blixer right at the chest, which sent him rolling off him. Despite being out of breath, Cyan scrambled up to his feet and sprinted away from Blixer, adrenaline rushing through his veins like crazy. He gasped for breath as he ran, lungs about to burst at the lack of oxygen, but he kept on running. Whatever's making Blixer act like this, it clearly wouldn't hesitate to tear his head clean off his shoulders, so he'd better run for his life.
Between his constant gasping for breath, Cyan could hear the pitter patter of Blixer continuing his pursuit. He really didn't want to, but he glanced over his shoulder to see his distance between Blixer.
Cyan's eyes widened in horror. The maddened Blixer almost looked like his form had changed mostly; his once smallish black horns and his sharp teeth had increased in length and size—and now he looked like an actual demon, baring his pearl white fangs as he bounded after Cyan like a hound. His eyepatch was now missing, the inky substance leaking out of that gaping black hole, his sclera was now pitch black, and his pink eye seemed to glow with a piercing pink light. Even his limbs had seemingly changed in shape, looking more like an animal's than a human's. His leather jacket was torn in places, as if Blixer's body had increased in size. It was terrifying, and because the sight was almost completely inhuman, Cyan didn't pay attention to where he was going as he stared at his friend, horrified. His heart skipped at least two beats as he tripped and fell on the grass.
As his face scraped painfully on the ground, he could hear Blixer crashing in front of him, barely missing him by an inch. He's probably having a hard time trying to control those uncontrollable leaps, Cyan thought hysterically. He wanted to do nothing more than to lay down on the grass and catch his breath, but if he did, it would be an instant death wish. So he immediately leapt to his feet and continued to run.
He could see the village where he and his friends lived and the glowing white peak of the Tree of Life between the roofs of the houses. Thank goodness—he could finally get help!
But when the heavy thuds of Blixer's pursuit entered his ears again, he began to think again. Cyan knew what his friend was capable of when angry. He could knock out three shapes in only two violent swipes of his fists, almost effortlessly. Seeing him increasing in strength and size, he could probably knock out six at the same time. And even though groups of the villagers could hold him down with teamwork, they wouldn't be able to succeed without getting severely hurt in the process. And he didn't want Blixer to get hurt as much as he did with the villagers and his friends, so, as a last minute decision, Cyan took a right turn and ran into a forest nearby, hoping he could lose him there and improvise later.
The trees were narrow but Cyan was small. Meanwhile, Blixer was originally about twice and a half his size, and now he'd grown in size, he's larger than that. As he swiftly combed through the trees with ease and the agility of a cat, Cyan could hear Blixer's roars of rage as he struggled to get to him through the trees. Soon, without much trouble, his roars became more distant and was out of earshot within two minutes.
As soon as he believed he was in a safe distance, Cyan allowed himself to relax and leaned against a tree, panting and gasping for air. Relief washed over him like a bucket of warm water. He let himself rest and minimize the adrenaline rush in his veins. Soon his heartbeat started to slow down and he could finally think clearly again.
"Phew," Cyan exhaled. "What the fuck was that about?"
How did Blixer change like that? How did literally his everything grow in size? The guy was perfectly fine the day before; no sickness, no infections, no nothing. Hell, he was perfectly alright that morning. Cyan shuddered as the image of Blixer's new form flashed in his mind. Those fangs, that dilated eye, that deathly glare, that inky blood (or was it bloody ink?)... the sight was unforgettable.
Cyan shook his head and decided to run back to the village to warn everyone else. His hands were still trembling and he kept stumbling over tree roots, so nervous was he.
But then he heard rustling.
He froze.
The rustling sound his ears picked up weren't from the bushes, strangely. They were coming from above.
Cyan immediately knew what was going on.
But it was already too late.
He whirled around and lifted his arms over his face for protection only to be met with a heavy weight landing on top of him. Blixer's arms were outstretched and his teeth were bared, ready to tear something apart, and those sharp fangs sank themselves into the first thing they made contact with, which was Cyan's left arm.
Cyan screamed in pain as the sharp teeth tore through his pale blue skin and into his flesh, causing his blood to splatter everywhere, staining the nearby trees and Cyan's face as well. He desperately tried to pry off Blixer's jaws from his arm, sobbing with the fear and pain, but it was no use. They were as strong as a shark's.
The pain was unbearable. He could feel his senses getting severed as Blixer sank his fangs deeper. It felt as if his arm was on fire as more blood leaked out of the wounds. He really wanted to yank it out, but he knew that was just gonna rip his arm in half.
Cyan clenched his teeth and let out a war cry as he kicked his attacker in the shins, forcing him to let go and drop Cyan.
Oh the pain.
It might've felt worse when Blixer released him.
The tears kept streaming down his cheeks as he stared at his wounded arm. A series of dark maroon holes adorned his arm, fresh blood still cascading down from the wounds. He almost couldn't breathe. He was losing so much blood. His vision was a blurry mess because of the tears. Or maybe because he was almost blacking out.
But he's not dying here. No. He won't.
He's going to get out of here alive and cure Blixer from whatever the hell's possessing him.
So with his remaining strength, he scrambled up to his feet, slightly losing his balance for a second, and blindly ran towards a direction. He didn't know where he was going, but at least he was going somewhere.
Anywhere else than here.
But his attempts to escape were hopeless anyway.
Cyan felt something heavy fall on his back, causing him to fall forwards and crash on his chin. A bone or two might've broke when it happened.
It was hopeless. He was going to die.
"Uughhh..." Cyan groaned. He coughed up a bit of blood. "B-Blixer..." he muttered weakly, "just... m-make it quick, you dumbass..."
Blixer must've heard him, because then he felt a sharp pain on his head before he completely blacked out.
...
Sorry not sorry UwU
