Notes: Chapter 11 is here for our little project, Journey to Hogwarts. I loved writing every word of it. I hope you will love it as much as I do. If the reference is not obvious, Chevy Impala '67 is a car in the Supernatural series, called baby, which idea came from @obsessedwithrandomthings as I love the series and the Winchester brothers and it just matched Sirius' character. This little piece was written by me with the the support of the amazing @kalimagik stufferknee [@firewhisky-kisses] dandelionandburdock [@iliveiloveiwrite] @obsessedwithrandomthings" - Tumblr
Des stood in front of the portal leading back to her old life, her thoughts all a mess. She wanted to stay, but the memories of her brother kept interrupting her happy thoughts. She looked up at the man seated at his desk, Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. She heaved a deep sigh and opened her mouth to talk.
"I would like to stay, there's no doubt about that, but what about our families? Can we somehow contact them? Can they be informed? Or are they just assuming us dead?" She questioned the man with a deep frown across her brows. Shacklebolt hummed as he averted his gaze from the girl, getting lost in his thoughts.
"We could possibly send a letter through the portal, but I cannot confirm if they will receive it." He explained.
"It's worth a try." Des nodded as she took a seat at the other side of the table and asked for a quill and parchment. Shacklebolt gave her the requested items and she quickly started writing.
She told her brother that she was alright, she was safe, that she felt happy where she was, and she missed him more than he could imagine. But she also told him that she would not be contacting him again, that she had a new life and wished him all the best. She signed the letter and gave it to Shacklebolt who promised to send through the letter. She looked up at the remaining girls and with a smile she disapparated.
She stood in front of the door of Grimmauld place with a huge smile across her face. She opened the door and silently closed it behind herself. Her footsteps were barely audible as she walked over to the kitchen, hearing some clattering sound.
As she arrived, the love of her life stood in front of the counter, one hand holding onto a bottle of fire-whiskey, the other firmly gripping a crystal glass. His fingers were pale as if there was no circulation in his veins. He was holding the objects desperately, as if they were the only things he could hold onto.
Des furrowed her brows as she watched the man's sorrowful expression. It pained her to see him feeling so down. She could see how badly her departure affected him and while she was happy Sirius had such strong feelings for her, it hurt her to see him so sad.
Sirius turned around, placing the glass back into the cupboard as he took a swig of the bottle. Screw etiquette – he thought, he has just lost the only person he loved.
Des walked behind the man, her hands sneaking around his waist, hugging him as she placed her cheek against his back. Sirius tensed up, his head lowering to look at the arrival's hands. He furrowed at the unexpected situation. He turned around as Des opened her arms wider, but her hands never left the man's body, enjoying the feel of their connection.
Sirius' eyes widened as he looked at the woman, not wanting to believe his own eyes. He clearly remembered saying his last goodbyes, trying to force his tears down so that she wouldn't see how badly their situation affected him.
"Hey." Des smiled sweetly, lifting one of her hands and caressing his cheek. Sirius leaned against her palm, enjoying her soft touch. He leaned down to her, gazing over her lips with his own, kissing her lightly, her simple presence brightening his mood instantly.
"What... What's going on?" He asked, slightly stuttering, a happy, but shocked expression spreading across his face.
"I have some news." Des replied with a grin that seemed to be growing wider by each second. Sirius' smile started growing at the woman's cheerfulness, but he didn't let himself enjoy it completely. He didn't have much faith.
"Okay. I'm listening." He replied cautiously, making Des giggle.
"You look like you have seen a ghost." She teased as she pecked his lips. Sirius didn't have time to reply, Des continued. "Right, do you want the bad news or the good news first?" She wiggled her brows, causing Sirius to scoff with an adoring expression.
"The good news." He replied.
"Well... the thing is..." She was taking her sweet time, up until Sirius groaned impatiently. "We are allowed to stay, Sirius!" She exclaimed with a cheerful grin across her lips. Sirius' eyes widened as his arms wrapped around Des' waist involuntarily.
"You're joking-" He whispered as if he didn't know if he could believe the words he just heard.
"Nope." She shook her head as she locked her arms behind his neck, pulling him down to meet her lips once again. The two stayed there, kissing, forgetting about anything, focusing only on each other.
"Wait." Sirius pulled away, furrowing his brows in confusion. "What's the bad news then?" Des chuckled at the man's dark expression.
"I mean-" She started teasingly again.
"Desiree!" Sirius interrupted her impatiently.
"Well, I will be here to nag you for as long as you'll have me." She chuckled sweetly.
"That's not a bad news, you silly woman." He heaved a deep sigh, his head leaning against her forehead. "That was not funny." He smiled lightly; his dark expression long gone. "When you left, I wanted nothing, but to feel you against me, to hug you one more time, to kiss you once again. It was killing me. I wanted-" He couldn't finish his monologue, Des pulled him down for a quick kiss, shutting him down.
"I love you Sirius." She confessed abruptly. Sirius' eyes widened for the umpteenth time, his heart going at a dangerous rate.
"I love you so fucking much." He breathed as he pulled the chuckling woman in for the sweetest kiss they have ever shared.

Des was sitting in the living room, baby Alice asleep in her arms. She looked down at the little girl, her sweet, small smile plastered across her lips even in her sleep. She was an adorable baby, a perfect mix of her mom and dad. She smiled as she watched the little one with full of adoration in her gaze.
Sirius walked over to the living room, stopping in the doorway, leaning against the wooden frame. He watched as Des adored the baby, her eyes lit up happily when Alice cooed. She chuckled softly when she placed a finger in the baby's little palm, playing with the tiny digits.
"You would be such an amazing mother." He whispered as he walked closer, taking a seat beside Des, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. Des snorted, her eyes never leaving the little bundle of happiness.
"Sirius, I don't even know how to change a diaper, I can't even cook, and I'm always grumpy when I can't sleep enough. I'm a mess of a human being to begin with." She scoffed, making Sirius grin.
"But you are my mess and I love every little imperfection of yours, love." He wore that lopsided smile across his face as he placed a kiss on Des' temple.
"You are such a sap, Sirius. You have it so bad for me." She chuckled happily as she gently rocked the baby.
"What can I say? I'm a damn lucky man to have you, woman." He smirked.
"That you are." She giggled leaning closer to Sirius, pecking his lips.
"You don't have to expose me so openly." He huffed as if he was hurt by her words, placing his palm on his chest dramatically.
"You started it to begin with." She grinned happily.
"You are unbelievable." He shook his head, his wide grin reappearing again.
"Unbelievably smart? Unbelievably attractive? Unbelievably in love with you?" She giggled, making Sirius snort at her cheesiness. She laid her head on his shoulder as she pulled Alice closer to her chest.
"I meant it; you know. You would be a wonderful mother." He spoke softly. She lifted her head, turning towards him as their eyes connected.
"Sirius Orion Black! Are you trying to talk me into having a baby?" She asked with a mocking tone.
"Not now, but I wouldn't mind a little Sirius running around." He chuckled wholeheartedly. Des kept silent for a second, before a sweet smile appeared across her face.
"That's not the worst idea." Her smile turned into a wide grin.
"We should maybe do some practice tonight, love." He whispered into her ear seductively.
"Sirius! Don't say things like that in front of the baby." She huffed, but she couldn't remove the mischievous smirk from her face spreading wider.
"You don't look too hurt about it." He chuckled as Des gently punched his shoulder.
"Shut up, Black or you will only practice how to strengthen your arm muscles." She huffed.
"As if you could ever resist me." He scoffed as he pulled Des closer, hinting a small kiss on the top of her head, enjoying the idyllic moment.

Des was sitting in the kitchen, in the early hours of the day, a steaming cup of tea in her hand with just enough milk and sugar added for the perfect, slightly sweet taste. She flipped to the next page of the Daily Prophet as the newspaper laid on top of the table, whilst sipping her tea unaware of her surroundings.
Her head shot up as she heard a loud knock from the window of the living room. She walked to the other room, heading towards the window, opening it to come face to face with a dark grey, almost black owl. She raised a brow looking at the animal, her eyes darting down to its feet, a letter hanging off it.
Des took the letter from the bird and without hesitation it flew away. She could have sworn that she recognised the animal, but she couldn't pinpoint from where. She headed back towards the kitchen, taking her seat once again as she looked at the fancy envelope. It was white with detailed decorations around the edges, her own and Sirius' name on the front of it.
She raised a questioning brow before she started opening the envelope, curiously taking out the even fancier looking little card. She flipped it open, only to gasp, before her shocked face turned into a wide grin, unaware of Ki, Ana and Mel wearing the same adoring, playful smirk across their face. The card was an invitation to Ellie and Blaise's wedding.
The girls knew about their engagement, but at that time the couple didn't set a date just yet. She screeched happily, scaring Kreacher out of the kitchen as she started planning the presents, she wanted to buy for them.
Before she could dig deeper though, she heard the door open, her eyes darting towards the entrance, watching as Sirius stepped inside with a happy grin across his face. Des jumped up from the chair, running towards the man, jumping into his neck as she smashed her lips to his, her legs wrapping around his hips, his hands holding up her thighs around him.
Each time he arrived, Des greeted him with utmost excitement, warming him up from the inside. He didn't understand how she did it, but her mere presence made him feel like a lovesick puppy and hell, he knew how smitten he was with her.
She pulled away, placing her forehead against his, studying the man's features with a loving gaze. She could never get enough of the man, he was perfect for her.
"Every day when I come home, you find a way to surprise me, woman." He chuckled. Des shrugged, her smile growing wider.
"I just want to greet my man. That's all." She pecked his lips, before Sirius put her feet down.
"I'm loving the attention, I can't complain." A cocky smirk found its way across his lips.
"I should hope not." She scoffed, her smile never faltering. "I have some news." She beamed as she got hold of Sirius' hand and started leading him towards the kitchen.
"What would that be?" He asked as he grabbed a glass from the cupboard and poured himself a glass of water.
"We are going to a wedding." She jumped excitedly.
"What? Whose?" Sirius asked with a gobsmacked expression.
"Ellie and Blaise finally set a date." She beamed happily as she offered the card to Sirius.
"Sounds amazing." He chuckled as he took the invitation, his eyes wandering back to the woman, watching the little crinkles in the corner of her eyes, her smile wider than he has ever seen. "At least we still have time before that." He concluded.
"Time for what?" She looked up, confused, a deep frown taking over her face. Sirius' eyes darted towards the entrance door, before he looked back at Desiree. A deeper frown took over her features, making her feel suspicious.
As if her sixth sense screamed at her, she walked towards the door, opening it, before she found herself facing the most beautiful, black chevy impala 1967 proudly resting on the side of the street, right outside of their house.
"Sirius Orion Black!" She shouted to get the man's attention. He walked across the corridor, halting behind Desiree with a mischievous smirk across his handsome face.
"Yes, love?" He asked as his arms sneaked around her waist, his chin resting in the crook of her neck, his eyes attached to the beauty standing outside.
"What on earth is that?" She asked, her voice reeking of disbelief.
"It's a car, love." He replied nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders.
"I know what a car is, I know how it looks like. I am from the muggle world, if in case you forgot about it. What I don't know however is what is this doing here?" She asked as she left Sirius' embrace and walked out of the house, circling around the majestic vehicle, her eyes drinking in every little detail. She brushed her fingertips across the hood of the car, a small smile spreading across her face. She loved cars, but she loved older cars even more. She missed some of the muggle inventions and one that she particularly was fond of back in her muggle world was definitely cars. Sirius chuckled as she watched the woman's excited expression.
"I bought it." He grinned proudly as Des' eyes shot up at the man.
"You did what? Why would you buy a muggle vehicle?" She asked with a deep frown. "We have brooms, we can apparate, we have floo network, Sirius." She tried to understand his reasoning, but she just couldn't find a logical explanation.
"Come here." He smiled sweetly as he reached towards the woman. She walked back to Sirius, placing her palm in his, as his other hand found its way across her waist. "I don't know if you have realised, but every once in a while, you talk about how much you miss driving a car, how much you miss simply being in a car. I thought, if you are stuck with me here forever anyway- " she scoffed at the man's comment, which earned her a deadly glare. "I wouldn't want you to miss out on anything."
Des was frozen. She knew that sometimes she got carried away talking about muggle inventions and how much she had missed them, but she never thought Sirius would have remembered them, let alone surprise her with one. She couldn't recall feeling more touched than she did at that moment.
"You did this for me?" She asked beaming at the man, her brown eyes watering, a little teardrop escaping abruptly. Sirius lifted his hand and removed it with the tip of his thumb, a proud smile spreading across his lips.
"I wanted to surprise you. I wanted you to be happy." He replied, his gaze full of love and adoration for the woman standing in front of him.
"I'm always happy, when I'm with you, Sirius." She chuckled lightly as she sneaked her arms around his neck, locking her hands behind him. "Thank you, darling." She leaned closer, meeting Sirius' lips halfway, relaxing into the man's arms. Kissing him always felt like it was for the first time, stupid little butterflies erupting in her tummy. Exciting and just perfect. She didn't understand how, but each day she fell a little harder for the man.
It's been over a year since they have officially become a couple, but Desiree found herself more and more in love with the man. Sirius wasn't different though. Coming home after a hard day, watching her as she took a nap on the sofa, cooked dinner that never really turned out edible, sang muggle rock songs in the middle of the living room, blasting from the muggle radio he had bought for her birthday, felt like the highlight of his days. He didn't understand how he lived before she appeared in his life, but now that she was here, he had no intention of letting her ever go.
"I'm glad you like it, love." He smiled as he pulled away. "What do you think about going on a little trip?" He asked, impatiently waiting for Des' reply.
"Wait what? Like an actual trip? Going somewhere, just the two of us, sightseeing and such?" She asked not wanting to believe his words. She has been craving to travel a bit to relax, to spend time together.
"Yep, I took some days off, perhaps a bit more than some. 2 weeks to be precise." He chuckled.
"You? Me? That beauty outside? And a trip? When are we going?" Des beamed, excitement shining through her brown eyes, a wide grin taking over her mouth.
"Pack up and we are ready to go." He chuckled and before he had time to react, Des left his embrace and ran up the stairs, giggling. Sirius shook his head at the woman's childish behaviour, but he couldn't deny how happy her excitement made him.
He followed the woman to their shared bedroom, both quickly packing some necessities, before Des rushed over to the door, luggage in hand, excitement in her eyes.
"I'm ready." She giggled happily. Sirius snorted at the woman, enjoying her giddy behaviour. He packed up the last of his bag and headed downstairs, Des already running ahead.
"Be careful." He shouted after her, feeling as if he was fathering her. She wasn't clumsy per se, but she had her moments, when she got too excited. Luckily though she arrived downstairs in one piece, a huge grin still present across her face as she waited for Sirius.
"Come on, old man, we have some travelling to do." She chuckled as she ran out of the house, standing beside the trunk of the car, impatiently waiting for Sirius to join her. As he arrived at the car, he opened the door and threw his bag in the back, along with Des' luggage, offering her a deadly glare.
"Old man, huh?" He questioned, but Des just snorted as a reply, shrugging her shoulders. She hurried to the front of the car, studying the interior design, finding each and every inch perfect. Sirius joined her at the front, placing the key in, starting the ignition.
"Do you even know how to drive?" Des raised a questioning brow, making Sirius chuckle.
"Oh, love. There's so much you don't know about me. But you will have all the time to learn." He winked as he leaned closer, kissing Des lovingly.
"Where are we heading?" She asked as she leaned back.
"Anywhere we want." He smirked, starting the car, driving farther away from their home, following on an unknown path. They didn't know where they were going, what they would be doing, but they were together and that was all that mattered to them.
