Chapter 18: Spain, Nerissa, and Nina: Festivals to Enjoy

(Nina's POV)

The moment my sister and I got off the plane, it was hot! Seriously! It was as hot as Italy! Not in that context! I always have to distinguish between the places and the personifications. My sister and I collected our two bags and waited outside. America decided to tell Spain about us visiting his place, so he was going to pick us up.

"How does he always find out?" Nerissa asked annoyed as she took out her phone to text our parents.

"We have our names registered when we buy the tickets. He probably looked us up" I answered as I took off my jacket and tied it around my waist.

"HOLA!" Spain shouted happily as he ran towards us excitedly.

He waved his hands up and down and stopped in front of us.

"How was your flight? Was it good?" he asked happily.

"We are fine. The flight was nice" I told him as he took our luggage.

His car wasn't small, but it was a bit tight. Nerissa sat next to Spain while I sat in the back. He drove us to our hotel. It was nice and cool. We were staying at the Hotel InterContinental for the week. Spain was amazed and also questioning us about this choice of a hotel. We saw nothing wrong with it personally, because we actually kind of used to staying at hotels like this. It is kind of a bad thing. We checked in and placed our bags in the room. Afterwards, we decided to head to the former royal palace of Spain.

"Man, I didn't think the line for the palace would be this long" I admitted as we saw the line.

"Well, let's get started then" Nerissa said as she walked to the line.

I about to follow her when Spain coughed. I turned to look at him and saw him holding a badge of some kind... I swear to gods if he picked up ideas from America, we are leaving on the first flight back to America. He motioned us to follow him and walked past everyone as he yelled excused me in his native language. We were able to get pass security and entered the palace.

"Are you allowed to do this?" I asked him nervously.

"Si! I am the nation!" he reassured.

I am pretty sure he cannot do that, but then again, nothing stops these stupid countries! We've tried! Well, I guess I can't complain. We were able to get in with no problem. Spain decided to lead us through the palace.

"So, did you live here?" my sister asked as she took photos of things.

"Oh, for a time. Now, I live in my own house in Madrid" Spain answered as we walked to the dinning room.

It was huge! The main color was white, and the silverware is silver! I don't blame anyone for revolting against them.

"Hey, look at that" Nerissa said as she pointed at the ceiling.

There was four stone carvings of four colonies Spain had taken care of before. There was Mexico, Peru, Chile, and the Philippines! We both looked at Spain in shock as he smiled to recall a few precious memories of being with them. I would've thought he would have some kind of monument to Romano.

"Those were my best countries, and I will never forget them" Spain answered with a smile.

My sister and I were not sure how to entirely feel about that, but we went on to explore the rest of the rooms. This palace is deceptively larger than I thought. It held a chapel, a room made of porcelain, and a room decorated in Japanese style. I found this amazing, but my sister asked Spain a few historical questions about the palace. Once we finished the palace, we went to a small café to have some churros and coffee. We took a few minutes to eat and relax, but a few children ran up to us with bright smiles on their faces.

"Gracias!" they said to us.

My sister and I were surprised by this. I talked with the children as my sister looked at Spain.

"Why are they thanking us?" she asked curiously.

"After you and the rest of the Dreamers saved the world, the children began to feel relax and enjoy the world. They were able to see everything that happened. They often ask me about Jodi" Spain answered as he looked at the children, "You know, I haven't seen this in a very long time. It is nice to see this happening again"

He smiled at the site as my sister watched in silence. I looked up in shock as my sister tapped her commlink. Something dark was here.

"Hey is everything ok?" Spain asked as he looked at us with worry.

Before he could do anything, my sister quickly had her dragon wings out and pushed Spain into the counter as a beam of darkness nearly hit him! I stood in front of the children as I summoned my keyblade.

"Ninos run!" I shouted as I ran to my sister.

She was able to create an energy shield to protect herself from the attack. The children ran out of the café and went home.

"Do you know who did that?" my sister asked as I transformed my keyblade into two pistols.

"I didn't get a good look. Give me a minute" I said as I combined the two pistols into a sniper.

I quietly walked out of the café as I put the scope to my eye. I looked around cautiously to find the attacker. It must be a nightmare. The rest of the villains are not present at the moment. At least until the next threat of the universe comes.

"I don't see anyone here" I told her, but I could definitely sense someone here.

My sister thought about it as she lit her hand with a green flame. She threw it towards the Cathedral next to the palace. Spain looked up from the counter and was very surprised to see a green flame flying towards the Cathedral.

"What are you doing?!" he shouted as he rushed to the Cathedral.

"Don't worry. Someone will get hit by it" my sister reassured him as she took his arm.

He was very worried, but he let the green flame fall from the sky. A person screamed when the fire hit something. Spain was surprised as Nina took the shoot. The person was struck by his side as he sat down.

"Who is he?" Spain asked surprised.

"A former king" I answered as I lowered my sniper.

Spain screamed when he saw a green hedgehog coming towards us.

"What is that thing?!" Spain shouted as he hid behind Nerissa.

"Scourge, what do you want?" Nerissa shouted as she walked next to her sister.

"A kingdom for a rightful king... SHOULD BELONG TO ME!" he shouted as darkness poured from him.

Spain screamed for God to help him as my sister lunged at him. She tackled him away from the palace and Cathedral while I hide behind a bench. I prepared to shoot him from a distance, but Spain couldn't believe this.

"What can I do to help?" he asked as he looked at the fight.

I looked around and noticed my sister was flying in the air a bit. I guess we could hit a home run.

"Spain do you have your axe?" I asked as I used my other hand to summon my wand to create stun magic bullets.

"Si" Spain said as he got his axe out and ran to the fight.

I kept a close eye as my sister and Scourge exchanged blows. Once they were separated, I took my shot.

"Spain! Now!" I shouted as I pulled the trigger.

The stun bullet struck Scourge's chest. Spain let out a yell as he swung his axe back and then swung it at Scourge's chest. He was lunched over the fence and rolled down the hill. I was very surprised as I made my sniper disappear, and my sister landed next to Spain as her dragon wings disappear.

"That was impressive" she said impressed.

"That was nothing! You should've seen me when I was the Great Spanish Empire!" Spain boasted.

I was approaching them when I saw Fiona Fox coming towards us! I quickly lunged forward as I opened a bottle of water. I don't like wasting water, but I was not going to let her hurt my sister. I waved my wand towards Fiona and made the water wash over her. I clenched my hand and had her trapped in the water bubble.

"Who is she?" Spain asked concerned as he held his axe closed to him.

"Fiona. She should be locked up, but her nightmare still lives on. Spain, you have a sword that should be able to get rid of her nightmare" I answered as I turned to look at them.

That was my mistake. Scourge jumped back into the fight and kicked me in the back, hard. I was hurt badly.

(Nerissa's POV)

He did not just do that. My sister fell to the ground as Scourge stepped on her back. I am going to snap.

"Nerissa, what do we do?" Spain asked worriedly as he drew his sword.

"Stand back" I said in a low threatening voice as Fiona broke free from my sister's water hold.

"Aw, what is a little girl going to do against us?" Fiona snickered at me.

"I'll show you" I said in a threatening voice.

I closed my eyes as I felt the golden dragon in me awaken. When I opened my eyes, a golden dragon appeared behind me. Oh, they were trembling against my power.

"Oh, that's right. It has been a while since you've seen us after Sonic and his friends caught you. Well, then have fun with this!" I shouted as I snapped my fingers.

The golden dragon roared and slammed his tail on them. The nightmares disappeared, so I made my dragon disappear. Spain carried my sister in his arms as he walked to me.

"Let's get to a hospital. She is hurt" Spain said.

I shook my head and motioned for Spain to place my sister on the ground. I placed my hands on her back. After Alex and I unlocked our true powers, we could heal. I slowly began to heal my sister's back, but I wasn't aware of how strong the nightmares really were. I was almost done healing my sister when Spain fell to his knees. He was exhausted.

"What's wrong?" I asked him as my sister slowly opened her eyes.

"The nightmare... It isn't fully defeated" my big sister said as she woke up.

Before we could do anything, the ground began to shake a bit.

"It's my people. They are suffering in this nightmare" Spain answered weakly as he looked at us.

I looked at my sister. I don't know much about the heartless nor dream eaters, but my sister knows a lot about them. She weakly stood up as she looked around. I think she was searching for this source of this nightmare.

"I think it is coming from that art museum" Nina said as she pointed it out.

I looked up and saw some darkness coming from it. I think my sister figured out who was behind this.

"Ok, I'll summon my dragon. Spain! You are coming with us!" I shouted as I clasped my hands together.

I created my green dragon and motioned her to lower herself to the ground. Nina and Spain got on the dragon, and we flew to the museum. Spain allowed us to enter the museum, and we wondered around the museum to see the source of the darkness. The people were looking at the different paintings.

"There is nothing out of the ordinary here" Spain said as he looked at the works of art.

"That is what you assume, yet you are unaware of the reasons why some of these paintings exists" a voice echoed as the paintings began to come alive!

I stood in front of my sister and Spain. I know that voice.

"It appears we meet again, Dreamers. Though, I was hoping it would not be in this kind of circumstances" Young Xehanort said as he appeared from a dark corridor, "Maybe I can finally get rid of you. Then my plans will work"

"I hate to say it, but that won't be easy" my sister said as she summoned her keyblade.

"You two have grown tremnbously over the years, but you will not be able to win this fight" he said as he snapped his fingers.

The ground began to shake as a giant Hockomonkey appeared! The paintings began to scream.

"Time to go!" I shouted as grab my sister's hand and Spain's wrist.

We were running away from the monkey as it screamed and slammed his fists on the ground.

"How are we going to beat that?!" Spain shouted as he looked at it.

"We can't have it be in a tight room. We need to get out of here and fight it out in the open" my sister shouted as we approached a window.

I shot a green beam to shatter the window. We jumped out as I summoned my dragon and Hockomonkey followed us out with Young Xehanort on his back. We were flying in the air as the monkey created fire balls and threw it at us! I was able to dodge the fire ball, but we had to get away from here.

"Nerissa! Nina! I have an idea! Fly to the bull ring!" Spain shouted as he pointed at the bull fighting ring.

"Is that a good idea?" Nina asked a little bit concerned.

"Trust me! I know what to do!" Spain reassured as I flew towards the ring.

I landed the dragon in the ring, and we got off the dragon. Spain quickly rushed to find a red cape while my sister and I just waited for him. Hockomonkey and Young Xehanort landed in the ring and prepared to fight us.

"Ole!" Spain shouted as he charged the monkey with his sword.

"Defeat that fool" Young Xehanort shouted as the monkey prepared to tackle Spain!

I wanted to help him, but my sister stopped me. What is she thinking?! If we don't do something, then how is Spain going to be ok? She just watched their fight. As the monkey charged to Spain at high speed, Spain swiftly swung his red cape over the monkey's head and made the monkey crash into the side stands!

"Ole!" Spain shouted in delight as he smiled at us.

"He was a matador?!" I shouted in disbelief.

Spain waited for the monkey to face him again as he slowly backed to the stone walls of the ring.

"Kill him!" Young Xehanort shouted angrily as he pointed Spain out.

"You see, amigo, you cannot kill me. For one, I cannot die for my people live on. As for the second reason" Spain said bravely as he gripped the red cape with one hand, "I have never lost a fight in this ring!"

He swung his cape away and gracefully drew his sword out. He swiftly lunged and cut the side of the Hockomonkey's side! Young Xehanort jumped off the monkey as my sister gripped my hand.

"NOW!" she shouted as she summoned her keyblade and pointed it at the nightmare.

I extended my hand to create an energy sphere as my sister prepared to cast a powerful light spell.

"Duo Light Rain!" we shouted as I shot the energy orb into the sky.

My sister's light spell struck the energy orb. The beam cut the orb in half and made light rain from the sky. The light was sharp and struck the coat. This caused him to be pinned down to the ground. I ran towards him and grab the hood of his coat and used my powers to make him disappear.

"I... will be back for you.... One of these days" he said in a low threatening voice to me.

My eyes were wide as my powers consumed him. He vanished into dark ashes and flew into the wind. Spain and my sister rushed over to me and made sure I was ok. I am a little worried about what he said, but I reassured them that I was going to fine. Late that night, we were sitting in a café having cafe and churrors. It was quiet and a gently wind blew at us. Spain noticed we were very tired, so he clapped his hands. One of the workers got a guitar and handed it to Spain. Spain began to softly play a few notes. I closed my eyes to enjoy this wonderful time. I felt my sister hug me warmly. I was very lucky. I think everything will be ok as long as I have my sister and close friends with me. Spain just smiled at us as we enjoyed our sister time together.
