The armor system will be similar to Fallout 4s, but will add in a new type of armor for the player to wear called Light, which includes light leather, metal, combat, robot, raider, etc. Armor from the previous games will return as outfits, ranging from fallout 1 to New Vegas. Outfits from fallout 4 will also be added into the game.

The game will also add in a new armor piece called "overcoat", which is an armor piece that can be worn over some outfits, such as a vault jumpsuit or road leathers. It can even be worn over some armor along side said outfits, such as the light/regular leather armor. Some examples of overcoats would be a duster jacket, Ghillie suit and poncho. All of which can be customizable.
