Sigh..

"That was your third sigh in less than half a minute. You going to keep this up much longer?" My coworker raised an eyebrow at me a little amusedly.

It was my second day working on the job, and I already hated it. "Sorry.. I just-.." Before I could even finish my own sentence, she raised her index finger to my face to shush me. "You miss the ocean. I get it." She giggled at my predictability, returning to the coffee station to finish prepping another customer's order. "At least someone gets it." I mused, picking up a polished knife and fork to wrap in a napkin for the cutlery basket.

Mio. A new friend of mine that worked in the same corner cafe as I did. She's super sweet from what I've seen of her so far, so at least I got something positive out of this job. Other than some extra cash, of course.

But the part I hated most about this job was the fact that it overlooked the beach. It was the most perfect view. And it taunted me constantly.

While I only worked weekends, it still took precious hours out of my week that could have been spent surfing. But I planned to use the money I earned to buy myself more gear since my old set is getting worn down. So I guess that's a plus.

*ding ding* *ding ding*
The store's main entrance door opened and shut behind itself, the bells that hung just above the doorframe chiming to sound the customer's arrival. My back remained turned towards them as I wiped down one of the dirty surfaces with a rag, so Mio jumped into action to take their order.

"Just a coffee." I recognised that voice. I tilted my head to the side slightly to catch a quick glimpse of him, just to be sure that I wasn't mistaken. Kujo had already taken a seat in a nearby booth, his back faced towards the front desk I stood by. Both his build and his outfit were unequivocal, too distinct and unique to be seen anywhere else.

"That's Jotaro Kujo!" Mio whisper-yelled excitedly, quiet enough for him to be unable to overhear us. "I know." I chuckled softly at her sudden burst of enthusiasm. She must go to the same school as him. She was already by the brewing station, whipping up his coffee ahead of another customer's order that had been placed long before his. I tutted quietly to myself, continuing the other guy's order while she prepared Kujo's with immense care.

"Mio.." I stopped her from pouring the cream into the coffee cup just as she was about to start forming the shape of a sunset; our cafe's logo and signature coffee design. "Shape it like a small dolphin, if you can." She eyed me curiously, unsure of why I had asked her to. "Trust me. He'll love it." Her eyes widened slightly, a grin now plastered across her face as she happily designed a dolphin pattern into his coffee cup.

I smiled softly as I watched her create the masterpiece so effortlessly. (I love art, but have yet to master coffee art/I wish I was that good at art/etc).

She was adamant on serving the coffee to him, so I had no reason to argue with her over it. While I wanted to greet him, it could wait for another time. My idea to put the baby dolphin pattern in the coffee was surely going to catch his attention regardless, seeing as it's a small print to signify our brief introduction.

"Your coffee, sir." She presented the cup to him cheerily, clearly annoying him as he didn't even acknowledge her. But once he saw the cream pattern decorating his perfect cup of coffee, his eyes widened slightly.

He turned his head just enough to view the front desk, his side-glance revealing my figure, which he then recognised instantly. I didn't notice him catch a glimpse of me as I was too busy working on another incoming order, but I could almost feel his gaze land on me. So he does like it after all..

"Thanks." He muttered quietly under his breath, which was clearly enough of a response for Mio to almost faint. She returned to the desk, a priceless overjoyed expression etched across her face. "You were right." She whispered, eyes glued to his back, watching as he sipped his coffee to savour the bitter taste whilst peacefully reading his newly purchased newspaper. "He loves it..!"

"And his eyes, don't even get me started about how they sparkled like glistening blueish-tinted emeralds when he saw it!" Mio rambled on and on as work progressed, getting more and more repetitive as time went on.

Note to self, try not to get Mio to take part in small gestures like that if Kujo is in any way involved. If it ever happens again, that is..

"Okay, okay. Can we close up shop now?" I cut her off in the middle of another tangent, causing her to droop her shoulders defeatedly. "Yeah, sorry. Completely slipped my mind." I silently celebrated that she had finally shut up about him, so we could close up for the night and head our separate ways.

"Knock knock." Our attention was grabbed by the door inching open a little, somebody knocking at the same time as verbally announcing their arrival. "Kakyoin!" Words could not express how thankful I was to see him.

Deciding that running around the desk would take too long, I hopped over it giddily to greet him with a tight bear hug. "Thank you, thank you, thank you.." I whispered quietly into his chest as I hugged him tight enough to accidentally restrict his air flow. "(Y/n)... Air.... Please...."

The walk home was anything but quiet, especially since I left before Mio. She locked up, seeing as she had the only spare key to the establishment. I'm still new, so have yet to prove my trustworthiness. "And then she was all like 'Jotaro, have my babies'. Are all the other girls at your school seriously that easy?" I vented to Kakyoin to let off some steam after a long day of work.

"Only for him. If it's any other boy, they can be pretty snooty. Rude even. They won't give you the time of day if you don't fit their perfect standards." Seems like he's been having a hard time finding a girlfriend from the sounds of it.. Must be difficult with such an idol like him stealing all the spotlight.

"But you're the first girl I've seen him properly greet before. I haven't known him for very long, but I've known him long enough to see that he usually shouts at all the other girls for being annoying." He pondered momentarily, until he pointed towards the sky and smiled with sudden realisation, a 'eureka' expression crossing over his features. "He must like you!"

"That's not it." I laughed at his seemingly ridiculous conclusion. That's the only thing he could come up with? "I bet it's true." He crossed his arms over each other, clearly a little annoyed that I laughed so heartily at his inconclusive guess. "How much you willing to bet?" I smirked quite confidently, earning a mirrored expression from him in return.

"6,000 yen."

"You're on!"

I couldn't help but grin at our wager. We used to bet small money on little things as kids. 200 yen for winning a race, 500 yen for the most surfing tricks performed in one minute. But 6,000 yen? That was completely unheard of.

"You'll be handing back all the money you drew out of me from these past few years.. One-upper." He teased, ruffling my hair playfully as we finally reached my house. I would have chased after him for messing up my hair if I wasn't so tired, and he was fully aware of this. Cheeky.. "Or else I've hit the jackpot, and you'll officially go bankrupt!" I huffed, fixing my hair grumpily as he chuckled at me. "We'll see about that!" He called over his shoulder, heading home for the night.

"Just you wait, (Y/n)..!"
