"You excited about your first date?" Kakyoin cooed as he sprawled across my bedsheets, staring up at the ceiling as I flicked through the outfits laying around in my closet. "You can stop rubbing it in now." I laughed with an eye-roll, fingers gliding across each of the clothing hangers as I crossed off different ideas from my internal checklist.

"I would never!" Kakyoin feigned offensiveness, laughing as I lowered my head and sighed of fake defeat. "I've got bigger problems to worry about right now." I stuck my tongue out in his direction as I continued to scan through my wardrobe. Nothing seemed to fit my vision of a perfect outfit choice, and I was starting to accept the fact that I would probably end up wearing something mundane.

"Having trouble?" Kakyoin's tone shifted into sympathy as he stood up from his lounging spot, approaching my wardrobe to take a look for himself. "When's the last time you went shopping? I've seen all these outfits on you at least a hundred times.." He muttered with a soft chuckle.

Silence ensued as I hid my ashamed face from him. I could hardly remember the last time I went shopping, other than the outfit I'd bought for the carnival. It was a day-long spree, and the trip lacked any set plan, so I ended up with a bunch of random outfits that were reused and readjusted to work with other outfits I already had.

"You're kidding me." He crossed his arms to fold over one another, an eyebrow quirked as he eyed me surprisedly. "Nope." I laughed sheepishly as I sat down where he lay prior to his judgemental search through my clothing collection.

"Okay, that needs to change immediately." He ruffled my hair, smiling down at me. "Let's go now while you still have time to get ready. This spree is on me." He presented the 6,000 Yen from his pocket that I'd previously paid him for our bet. "I've got 6,000 Yen and I'm not afraid to spend it!"

~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~

"Nope."
"Ew. Next."
"Okay, that's not bad."
"..Never mind.."

It had been an hour since we'd arrived at the nearest shopping mall, and after scanning through all the different clothing stores in the vicinity, we decided on one shop in particular that had a lot of different styles to choose from. I'd tried on just about every dress, every mannequin's complete outfit, every suggestion the clerk had to give, and nothing I tried on looked good enough.

"Please just let me pick out something. Just this once." Kakyoin pleaded as he groaned of utter annoyance, falling backwards dramatically onto his waiting room seat as I emerged from the stall in an overly casual pair of jeans and a plain white t-shirt. "That missed the mark altogether! Where did you even find that?"

I pouted softly as I posed in the mirror. "I thought it was cute.." I mused with a shrug, laughing quietly to myself at Kakyoin's left eye twitch as he'd been waiting so long for the perfect outfit to come along, only for me to suggest this. "Absolutely not. It's my turn now." He shot up from his seat faster than I could argue against it, and sped off in the direction of the clothing hangers.

"This. This one. Try it on." I continued to laugh at Kakyoin's impatient state, swapping out my older outfits with him to accept his newest idea. "Alright alright, calm down drama queen." I quipped as I shut the cubicle's door closed and locked it before he could retort anything back.

I stared down at the (colour you like) outfit, curious about how he'd picked such a nice colour and fabric to match. But then again, he knows me all too well at this point in our friendship - enough to know all my favourite colours, what I'm comfortable with.. And from the looks of it, he'd hit the nail on the head with this latest choice. It was soft, stretchy, accentuate enough, covered as much as I was willing to show, and was something I could see myself wearing more than just this once.

I slipped into the outfit as quickly as I could, and it fit so perfectly that it surprised me at first. It hugged my figure in just the right places, like it was tailored to each of my preferences. I couldn't believe how perfect it was, and especially since Kakyoin had picked it out for me.

"How do I look?" I posed at the doorway of the cubicle, one hand on my hip while the other was pressed against the side of the doorframe. I wiggled my eyebrows playfully and laughed as Kakyoin's jaw dropped, eyes widening as soon as the final look came into view. "Wow." He mouthed, absolutely speechless.

"We'll take it!" He announced to the cashier that stood nearby, who nodded in approval once she caught sight of the outfit in all of its glory.

I giggled, twirling giddily before disappearing behind the changing room door so that I could pack the outfit in a bag and take it home. I still had to get ready for this date, and I was almost out of time..

~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~

"Hold still." Kakyoin pressed his hands firmly on my shoulders before 'continuing his masterpiece', otherwise known as styling my hair. I hadn't enough time to fix a (natural/fun/etc) makeup look as well as tidy up my hair myself, so I left that to him. And he yet again showed himself to be quite useful, somehow figuring out how to properly use a (curling iron/hair straightener/etc).

"Sorry!" I held the hand mirror closer to my face as I finished up the final touches of my look. "Aaaand done." We seamlessly finished up in unison, checking the time that was to be read on the wall clock. 6:45. Perfect.

"Much better." Kakyoin flicked a piece of hair from my face that seemed out of place, and finally took a step back to admire his handiwork. "Why am I getting so sentimental?" He smiled softly, taking a seat on the edge of my study desk, watching as I double-checked that I was happy with how I looked in my body-length mirror.

"Awwwww." I giggled, trotting over to give him a bear hug, just like we used to as kids. "I'm getting sentimental too. I feel like you're my mom handing me off to my escort for the night." I teased, earning a hearty laugh from the man that looked anything but my goofy description.

"Do I look like your mom to you?" He reached out to ruffle my hair, but as soon as his hand almost touched my head, he retracted it to save his work. "Well.. You did pretty much raise me." I pointed out, a feeble attempt at saving myself. He placed a hand over his chest above his heart, a soft but saddened smile etched across his face. "Okay, stop talking or I'll cry."

"I seriously don't appreciate you enough." I pressed my face into his chest lightly, enough to not mess up my makeup but to show that I was being serious, despite my lighthearted tone. "As much as I tease you, and as much as you deserve it.." He began with a chuckle. "I should really say how much I appreciate you more often."

"How about we get ice cream and hang out by the beach next weekend?" He offered with a warm smile, his lavender eyes shrouded with endearment to mask the slight overprotective side to him at handing me over to Jotaro. A minor downfall to the plan he'd spent so long devising. "That sounds well-overdue." I beamed, taking a step back to keep an eye on the time. 6:50.

"I told him to be early, so he's probably outside." He shrugged, a hand pressing against my upper back as he pushed me towards my bedroom door to leave. "Just how much of this date have you planned?" I laughed as he ushered me out of the room and into the hallway. "Not much." He smirked. "I'm leaving the rest up to Jotaro, so he'd better not let me down."

As we reached the doorway, I turned to him and smiled bashfully, a little shy to open the door. "You look amazing. Don't keep him waiting, cause he's missing out." Kakyoin sang playfully as he hid behind the kitchen door, out of sight of the entrance. "Thank you.." I beamed. "Wish me luck..!"

"You don't need it." He assured me with a warm smile, his supportive thumbs up urging me to open the door. So I did just that, and doing so revealed Jotaro standing by the doorway, his enclosed left hand held up as if he were about to knock. Upon noticing me, he retracted his hand and lowered his cap slightly, a little thrown off by our oddly perfect timing.

"Hey." He visibly gulped as he scanned my appearance. "Hi." I couldn't help but blush at the pleasantly surprised expression that crossed his features upon noticing my outfit. He clearly wasn't expecting me to put as much effort in as I had, but appreciated every little aspect to my efforts. "You look.. wow."

"You too." I chuckled quietly, stepping outside the doorway and closing the door behind me, but not without flashing an excited smile towards Kakyoin on my way out.

Jotaro wore the same leather jacket as he had yesterday, a simple change that gave his outfit a completely different feel to it. It felt more serious, like he was committed to changing something so important to him just for me. "I'm liking this new style." I commented as I lightly felt the side of his arm, recognising the jacket to be Kakyoin's that he must have borrowed for the evening.

Jotaro's lips parted as he wanted to say something in return, but they shut soon after, and instead he held out his hand towards me, eyes glancing to the side shyly. I accepted his offer to hold hands, my palm soon pressing against his calloused skin, fingers interlocking gingerly while neither of us could look the other in the eye, spare for a few short-lived glances here and there.

Walking alongside him felt almost surreal compared to the usual. My body felt oddly numb and tingly, like I was somehow floating next to him as he led the way. I had to remind myself how to walk normally every now and then, my nerves getting the better of me as the heat of our hands pressed together was enough to clear my head of any thoughts other than him. These pushed-aside thoughts included my usually automatic reminder to not hold my breath for too long, or to watch where I was going so I wouldn't stumble over my seemingly two left feet.

"This is the place." We suddenly stopped outside a small restaurant that was squeezed between two larger buildings, both of which clearly attracted more attention than the almost bare and abandoned centre food joint. "I come here to clear my head.. And the food is good." He muttered lightly, clearly rambling on about it out of nervousness. I gazed up at the adorable cream-coloured building that was lined with black tendrils of well-kept rose thorns. "It's perfect."

His hand slowly let go of mine as he led me inside, a clear reluctance to break the contact in his actions. But he replaced it with a hand timidly placed on my waist, leaving it there to usher me to his usual table at the back.

The building was spotless, and the staff were delighted to see their most regular customer return, even more so at the sight of him with company for once. "Mr. Kujo.." The manager of the establishment approached with a notebook and pen in hand. "What a pleasure it is to see you again. And who might this pretty lady be?" He cooed teasingly with fairly obvious undertones of genuine curiosity.

"My date." He answered bluntly, and the man took this as no surprise since he clearly knew him well. "Ah, that's wonderful! Then I won't keep you two waiting around any longer - what would you like to order?"

Once our orders were in place, silence fell over us once again. Neither of us knew what to say, where to start, how to get a conversation rolling at a time like this.. But before I could think of anything, I felt his hand barely brush against mine, yearning for that contact to return. I smiled up at him warmly as he tried to gauge wether or not his actions were too much, but as I interlocked our fingers once again, he smiled.

A small but genuine, contented smile.

It was rare to see him display his happiness so obviously, so I savoured every second of it. The moment had such a strong effect on him that he couldn't keep the suppressed smile from revealing itself, which is something I took pride in just as much as he did in making me blush.

"We should come here more often." He mused, placing his elbow against the sturdy wooden table's surface to rest his head on his free hand, the curvature of his fingers covering the outline of his mouth in a feeble attempt at hiding his smile. His eyes averted to watch the kitchen prepare our meals in a hurry, whisking around the compressed room with plates clattering and continuous sizzling and searing sounds that nearly made my mouth water.

"If the food is anywhere near being as good as yours, then definitely." I quipped with a cheeky smirk, earning myself a narrowed side-glance that showed a hint of mischievousness. "They have karaoke upstairs."

(That shut me up/we are definitely trying that someday).

"As this seems to be such a special occasion for our most beloved customer.." The manager of the restaurant began to announce with a wide grin, wheeling out a silver cart topped with steaming hot entrées. "..this meal is on the house, and we hope you enjoy the special couple's side dishes that will be sure to liven up your evening."

As the food was placed in front of me, I couldn't help but gasp at the otherworldly sight. I'd never seen a dish embellished so beautifully in my life. Not even the most expensive upper-class restaurants that were known for their fine dining could come close to this level. I had an inkling that Jotaro would find someplace nice for us to eat, but never imagined him treating me to something as extravagant as this.

A singular nod was shared between the host and his most valued guest, a clear sign of thanks in their own respectable way. The manager soon disappeared, much to our delight as our focus had returned to the food plated before us. I could barely mutter a simple 'bon appetit' before we tucked in, basking in the comfortable silence.

"You want to try some?" I scooped up a relatively large piece of a side dish that was placed on my side of the table, lifting it closer to his face for him to take a bite once he'd finished taking a sip of his water. He paused, placing the cup down as his eyebrow raised at me quizzically. And yet he didn't argue as he knew the food was bound to be amazing on top of the fact that it was one of the couple's dishes that were intended to be shared.

He leaned in closer to me, his face nearing the spoon that I had held out. He meekly welcomed my gesture, not backing away from me as he tried a taste of the dish I urged him to eat. "It's good." He nodded, turning to another plate across the table so he could repeat my action.

I blushed lightly as he held up his fork, a little embarrassed to try it with him staring at me so intently. But seeing as he'd been waiting with a hand cupped underneath the utensil for a few seconds too long, I complied. I hummed quietly, eyes closing and a small smile creeping onto my face as I silently appreciated the unfamiliar flavours the chefs had expertly added.

"This place isn't half bad." I teased jokingly, my eyes finally fluttering open to reveal a half-lidded gaze fixated on mine. Goosebumps suddenly spiked across my arms, prickling my skin at the warmth directly emanating through his adoring stare alone.

"All done?" A voice sounded from across the room as the nearby waitress inspected our table. Jotaro and I involuntarily shifted away from each other as our bodies jolted with fright. "Yes.." Jotaro hid his reddened face behind the cover of his cap's shadow, while I did my best to cover my face (to no avail/with a curtain of hair).

~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~✧~

We said our final goodbyes to the friendly staff before leaving the building, only to be greeted by a chilling gust of cold air. My entire body shook involuntarily at the contact of the icy breeze on each and every exposed part of my skin, the cold seeping through the endless openings in my outfit. But Jotaro thankfully picked up on this as quickly as the wind blew by, shuffling his arms out of the leather jacket to place it over me instead.

"Are you not cold too?" I clung to the collar of the jacket to keep it from sliding off my shoulders, turning my head to peer up at him almost guiltily. He wore nothing but a plain t-shirt underneath with sleeves that cut off by the ends of his shoulders. It was far too cold out for him to walk the rest of the way home with the entirety of his arms bare.

His body tensed up as he hesitated to speak what was on his mind. "See, you are cold! Let's-.." Before I could even make a suggestion to buy myself a coat on the way home, I was swept off my feet in a matter of seconds, and suddenly laying in his bulky arms bridal-style with the jacket readjusted to become a blanket.

"This is fine." He hugged me closer to his body, relishing in the intermingling body heat that almost made us forget that it was even cold outside to begin with.

"I-if you're sure.." I suddenly froze in place in my curled-up position, letting him carry me along as I tried to recover from the sudden romantic gesture that he acted so cool about. But as my body returned to its relaxed state, I leaned up to wrap my arms around his neck, laying my chin on his shoulder to return some heat to his freezing cold neck and collarbone areas.

As we neared my home, I could recognise the different neighbouring houses that passed us by, so I decided to lean up to make it easier for him to set me down. And so he did, but not until we had reached the welcoming mat just centimetres from the front door.

As he set me down, I removed the leather jacket from myself and held it up for him to slide his arms back into the sleeves. He turned around, allowing me to guide his arms in by crouching down to a decent enough height for me to reach. With a swift pull at the collar, the jacket returned to fitting snugly around his figure, and he turned back around to face me once again as we were about to part ways for the night.

"Thanks." He mumbled, eyes trailing downwards as he was mulling over different things to say. "Thank you for walking me home.. again." I returned the praise with a small laugh. His eyes flickered back up to mine, vividly glowing brighter than the lampposts that lined the streets. The only light I could compare their multicoloured sheen to were the stars, and even they could barely begin to compare with their single-toned light.

"Thank you for keeping me company." He decided to continue our list of compliments with yet another, taking a step closer to me in the process. "Thank you for taking me out." I couldn't help but smile as he took another small step forward to shorten the gap between our figures.

"Thank you.." As his face slowly lowered to near mine, I could feel his warm breath lightly tickle my face as he spoke, enough to cause even more blush to rise on my cheeks. "..for agreeing to go."

*bump*
Our half lidded eyes suddenly widened slightly as the base of his cap tapped harshly against my forehead.

I giggled softly at the humiliation that crossed his features, panicked eyes searching mine for any signs of disgust or disbelief at such a cringe-worthy moment. But instead, I cupped his face in my hands, tilted it to the side, and resumed where he had left off.

I placed a short and sweet peck on his lips, clearly taking him by surprise and he'd expected me to back away embarrassedly as he had planned to. I grinned, fighting the urge to hide myself from him after such a bold move. But I was glad I didn't as I got to witness Jotaro's eyes sparkle with joy as he leaned in for another, his hands wrapping around my waist to pull me even closer to him.

We shared an adorable moment of returning one chaste kiss after another. Each soft reciprocated press would linger on our lips and urge us to lean in again and again for more. But eventually we decided that we would freeze if we stayed out any longer.

"We should do this more often." I quoted his earlier statement as I removed my hands from around his neck, urging him to loosen his grip on my sides but keep his hands placed on them lightly. "Yeah." He nodded, placing one final kiss on my forehead before stepping back.

The forehead kiss - one of Kakyoin's backup plans to use if he backed out of a proper kiss by the end of the night. But in his mind he saw it as a fitting gesture to show the innocent love that he desperately wanted to share.

I retrieved the spare house key and unlocked the door, not opening it yet as we still had to exchange a proper goodbye. "Goodnight, Jotaro. Thank you for everything today. It was perfect." I smiled warmly, the sudden bitter cold wind nipping at my reddened face to combat the barely manageable heat radiating from it.

He smiled softly in return, turning to leave whilst looking over his shoulder so that I could only see a side-view of him as he walked away. "Goodnight (Y/n).."
