Summary: Josh and Jordan team up to surprise you.

Author's Note: I have to say, there is nothing I love more than writing fics with Jim in them :') also, my goal is to start posting requests next week! I just wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to submit theirs before I start posting them. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this one :)

"Are we almost to the door?" you asked, holding your free hand out in front of you. "I feel like I'm going to trip at any moment."

"Almost there."

Josh put a hand on your back and helped you up the small step that led to your front porch. The two of you had just arrived home from a nice lunch together, a normal Friday tradition for the two of you, but this time he had announced that you had to close your eyes before you got out of the car. It had taken a bit of convincing to get you to go along with it, but Josh's obvious excitement about whatever he had planned eventually got you to give in.

"Ok, we're going inside."

You slowly followed Josh into the house and towards the living room. Josh's grip on your hand grew tighter as he carefully led you around the coffee table.

"Is Jordan here?" you asked. Josh's brother had been staying with the two of you over the last week, but you were unsure if he was actually home.

"Yeah."

"Hi, Jordy!" you called, so that he would be able to hear you no matter where he was in the house.

"Hi, Y/N," he answered from a short distance away, making you jump a little. Josh quickly caught you before you went falling backwards. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you,."

"You're fine," you said, waving a hand in what you hoped was his direction. "The whole having my eyes closed thing is just throwing me off."

"It'll be worth it."

"Wait, Jordan knows what the surprise is?" you asked.

"Of course he does, he helped me with it," Josh laughed.

"What are you two up to," you muttered under your breath. Josh wasn't usually one for surprises, but evidently today was different. You were beginning to wonder if you had forgotten some significant date.

"Alright, Y/N, I'm going to have you sit on the couch," Josh said.

"Where is it?" you laughed.

"Right here."

Josh helped you find the couch and get comfortable. You were starting to get a little nervous about whatever he had planned, but you were still willing to go along with it. The tone of his voice made it clear that he was excited about whatever was happening.

"Ok, Jordan and I are going to get the surprise. Don't move."

"Both of you are going?"

"Yeah, it will just be a few minutes."

"Ok, I'll be here."

Josh and Jordan's footsteps left the room, leaving you with only the steady hum of the refrigerator from the other room. You leaned back into the cushions, idly tapping your hands against your thighs. Down the hall, you could just make out the muffled sounds of Josh and Jordan having a conversation.

They couldn't have been gone for more than a few minutes when you heard a loud crash from what must have been the guest room. You sat up immediately, worried that one of them had been injured while trying to get your surprise ready.

"Josh? Jordan? Are you ok?"

"We're fine!" Jordan answered, but it was shortly followed by Josh yelling something you couldn't quite make out.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah! Just stay in there, Y/N!" Josh answered this time.

"Yeah, right," you muttered, slowly getting to your feet. Even if you were going to investigate and potentially help the boys, you would honor Josh's request to keep your eyes closed. The last thing you wanted to do was ruin the surprise and disappoint Josh.

As you got closer to the room Josh and Jordan were in, you were able to make out fragments of what they were saying. It wasn't quite enough to fully understand what was going on, but you were relieved to hear that it didn't seem like they were in any sort of grave danger.

"Get him, Jordan!"

Him?

"I'm trying! It's not like you're doing any better!"

"Do you guys need help?" you asked.

"Damn it."

"Just stay out there, Y/N!"

You sighed and leaned against the wall. Josh and Jordan quieted down now that they knew you were outside the door, but you could tell from all the other sounds that they were still struggling to handle whatever it was they were doing.

After a few more minutes, you finally heard triumphant cheers coming from inside the room. One of them walked out of the room a moment later, once again taking hold of your hand and leading you back towards the living room.

"Who is this?" you asked, reaching over with your free hand to grab at the stranger's shoulder.

"Josh."

"Where's Jordan?"

"Still in the guest room."

"Is everything ok?"

"Yeah, we just had a bit of a mishap. I can explain in a second."

"Ok."

Josh helped you get settled back on the couch and then walked out of the living room again. Down the hall, you could hear him whispering with Jordan, but their conversation was too quiet for you to understand anything. It wasn't until they were right at the edge of the room that you could make out a few words.

"You have him ok?" Josh whispered.

"Yeah, go take a seat and I'll bring him over."

"What's happening?" you asked, hoping that it would finally bring you an answer.

"Jordan is bringing the surprise over," Josh explained. The couch dipped as he took a seat next to you and wrapped an arm around your shoulders.

"Ok, tell me when I can open my eyes."

Jordan's footsteps moved slowly against the wood floors until they finally came to a stop a few feet away from you. Shortly after, you felt the weight of something being placed in your lap. It didn't weigh very much, but it was warm where it was resting against your legs. The arm Josh had around your shoulder had grabbed onto you a little tighter.

"Can I open my eyes?" you asked, just to be sure.

"Go for it."

You opened your eyes and nearly started crying. A golden retriever puppy was resting on your lap, his pink tongue hanging out the side of his mouth as he panted. He turned to look up at you with big, brown eyes, which was enough to make a tear slip down one of your cheeks. You hastily wiped it away and reached out to gently scratch at the puppy's ears. His fur was even softer than you had expected.

"Jordan and I went to get him from the guest room where we were keeping him, but he wanted to play instead of being picked up. That's why we were yelling and running around."

"He's adorable," you said, scooping him up so you could get him closer to your face.

"Well, he's ours."

You turned to Josh with wide eyes, hardly believing what you were hearing.

"Ours?"

"Yeah," Josh grinned. "You know how I was talking about getting an emotional support animal for tour? And you said you wouldn't mind having a dog around the house?"

"Yeah?"

"Here he is."

"I love him," you said, scratching at his little ears. "Have you named him yet?"

"He's been temporarily named Jim, but we can change it if you don't like it."

"Jim," you repeated with a smile. "I love it."

Jim started to wiggle around in your arms, so you put him on the floor. He immediately started to run around, eager to play again.

"So, you like the surprise?" Josh asked.

"Like it? Josh, that's the best surprise you could have ever gotten me. Thank you so much," you said, leaning forward to hug him. "And thank you, Jordan, for all your help."

"It was no problem. You're not the only one who loves this little guy," he said, bending down to pet Jim as he ran past.

"I'm glad you like him," Josh said, giving you a quick kiss. "I think he's going to be a good addition to our family."

"Definitely."

When Jim ran past your feet again, you quickly scooped him up and put him on your lap. He rolled onto his back and nibbled on your fingers, but you didn't mind. You were too focused on his adorable face.

"He's so cute. I can't believe we get to keep him."

Josh reached over and scratched at Jim's tummy. "I know, I just want to smile every time I see him."

"Me too. I love him," you smiled, then turned to Josh. "And I love you."

Josh gave you a quick kiss before resting his head on your shoulder. "I love you both too."
