✨A Friday Night✨

🪄You🪄

With me on the wheel, I was driving us to the best hangout spot in town. I felt the cooling winds pull back my hair, a sense of juvenile freedom, to have fun and live life to the fullest! As the sky went from a romantic sunset to a mystical nightfall, the girls and I were taking the chance to talk and catch up.

"So, (nickname)," Mika leaned in behind my seat, "how's your high school? You got into a prestige establishment, so it must have its expectations."

I shrugged my shoulders agreeing, "oh, definitely. I didn't think I'd make it in, at first, but here I was. But it's also not that bad." I added, "I'm pretty popular amongst my classmates. Sadly for them, though, they could never replace my besties!"

"AWWW!" My friends gushed over my corny words, but there was an unexpected question.

"Well, if you're as popular as you claim, is there a boy you haven't told us about yet~?"

"Pfft," I laughed. "Wha~ no way."

"B.S.," Tenshi pointed at me.

"I'm serious, You guys know my heart belongs to Phoenix Ikki. [From Saint Seiya btw]"

"Then who was that dark-knight-eye-candy, back there?"

Hana nodded, "yeah! He was hot!"

"Didn't he look delinquent, though?"

"Not far off-brand for our (name). She's into brooding, dark, bad boys."

"And they're neighbors! They must be very close~."

"L-ladies, please," I pumped the brakes, stopping at a red light. "Kujo is just some guy in my class. And yes, he is delinquent, so he skips school and I really don't see him often. But, during these past few days, I might have been a bother." I embarrassingly scratched my head, "Today, I thought I'd treat him at a cafe to make up for it and leave him alone for good, and we just happened to find out that we're neighbors. It's not that deep.." lifting my gaze at my friends, I saw that they were all staring back with surprised faces. "..W-what??"

"Oh my God...it finally happened." Tenshi whispered as the three girls covered their mouths in sync. "(Name) has a CRUSH!!"

"And its not on a cartoon character!" Hana cheered.

And Mika clapped her hands congratulating, "a true miracle!"

"What?! N-no! That isn't-.. Its not--" before I could fight to defend myself, someone was angrily honking behind us. "Ugh, damn it." I realized that the light had turned green a minute ago. I stepped on the gas pedal and continued to drive to our destination.

We arrived at a place called Bowling Alley & More. Creative, emiright? But, seriously, it had everything: arcade games, rollerblading, karaoke, a diner and a bar- if you were legally allowed to drink-, and even a dancefloor. Before, we would hop from place to place to have this kind of fun, but not anymore! The girls and I stepped out of the car, after parking it, and went inside. Music was blaring over the rest of busy sounds, and the neon lights that decorated the walls just made you want to party.

Approaching the front desk, I pulled out a card from my wallet and showed it to the employee worker. "Hello, there~" I greeted, over the noise, "I would like to use this pass for my party of four."

They take a look at my card scanned it. Once it was approved, the worker then asked me to write down my name, age, and family home number on a contract sheet. Then, they gave me a card with a number and stamp mark.

"The alleys are full, at the moment. When one is free, we'll call your number to let you know. Be alert about it and enjoy your stay," He smiled with a small bow.

And I did the same, "we will, and thank you!"

From there, we went ahead to amuse ourselves. This was my favorite place for good reason. There was so much you could do! We started off with eating, 'cause why not? We made sure to leave some room for later, if we ever felt peckish, and ran for the games. I'll admit, I wasn't any good when it came to arcade games, but they're still fun to play. I did get a win or two, thanks to my Fire Lady. I know that's cheating but PLEASE! I needed this!

After playing a few more games, we heard a voice calling from the speakers, *number 1-0-9, please come to the front desk..Again, number 1-0-9, come to the front desk.*

"Oop, that's us ladies!" I said, reading our card. "Let's go."

We claimed the now-open bowling alley and were given our floor shoes. They asked if we would like anything to be brought over during our game and we kindly requested some drinks and a finger food tray. Once everything was said and done, my friends and I head to our alley spot. Surprisingly, despite being bad at arcade games, I was a master at bowling....no! I didn't use my angel to cheat! As we played our game, our orders were brought and we all chatted amongst ourselves. It was my turn to throw and SOMEHOW the girls came back to a certain topic.

"So, how long have you been stalking your man, (name)?"

That sudden question made me lose my balance and my ball rolled into the edge and cost me that single, standing pin.

"NOOOOOOO!!!" I cried, "I needed that for the win!! Whyy-ha-hayyyyy!!!"

"Girl, just sit down and answer the question!"

I sighed and plopped down onto the couch, "why are we still talking about this? I don't have a crush. And I wasn't stalking him." I grabbed my drink from the table, sipping on the straw.

Hana rolled her eyes, "because we know you're lying."

"Plus, we want details!" Added Mika, "if you weren't stalking him, then what's the story?"

I froze in place. How exactly do I answer that?! I couldn't tell them about our spirit company. They'd never believe me, but they're not gonna let up, either.

"Well," I started as I set my drink down, "a while ago I found out something about Kujo that I related to-"

"What was it?" Tenshi interrupted.

"Ehhh, I don't think I should say it. It's more personal than I make it to be." The girls nodded respectfully and allowed me to continue. "He seemed so frightened, it looked it was his first time realizing his problem. I wanted to reach out and help him, but he always refused, so, I became persistent." I looked back on this past week. Remembering the attempts I made to make Kujo accept his guardian angel and I sunk into guilt. "Yet, who was I to force help on a guy who didn't want it in the first place? I bothered the guy for a whole week and I was gonna continue until he gave in... But I had to let it go. I decided to treat him to a drink at a cafe near our school and when we left, that's when we found out we were neighbors today. I just feel bad, okay?"

"So, you don't like him?"

"Ugh, that's what I've been saying since before we got here," I hung my head. "Plus, Kujo has a whole fanclub of girls and I don't want to get tangled up with them over some delinquent boy...fuckin' hoes."

We left that conversation finished and finished the game. After that, we decided to call it a night. We gathered our stuff, checked out, and made our way to the car. Ten-ten was back on the wheel and as we drove, we were almost back at my neighborhood, there was a surprising figure on the road. Tenshi gasped, desperately pumping the brakes but the figure jumped on the hood anyway.

"Hey, are you alright?!" She asked, probably not realizing that this stunt was on purpose.

Something didn't feel right to me about this person. I tried getting a better look. All I could see was the top of his head, shoulders, and hands- the hand! My breath hitched as I saw the weapon, nun-chucks, in his left hand.

When the guy didn't answer Tenshi, she was about to step out of the car to investigate, but I shouted, "sit your ass back down, you dumb bitch!"

"Damn, (name), what?! Are you still annoyed about earlier? If you are, we'll lea--"

"No, it's not that." I glared angrily in her direction, but, in reality, I was glaring at the man. I shouldn't let my eyes off him for a second. "Just. Stay."

I get out of the car myself and cautiously inches toward the "ran-over" man. "Hey, asshole! Just what do you think you're trying to do, huh? Jumping onto the hood like that, trying to frame us for a hit." I saw the body twitch and his grip tighten onto his nun-chucks to the point he was shaking. Still, no response from the guy. "Hel-looo? I'm talking to you-"

Just then, he finally moved, swinging his weapon at my head but I dodged it. Immediately reacting, I decked the crook in the face as I used my angel's strength as a boost for impact. He went flying to a nearby wall.

"(Name)! What are you doing?!" Hana yelled at me.

I didn't answer her as I still kept my entire focus on the wrecked man. With a more full body view, I found a tattoo running down his arm from the back of the shoulder. Most likely Yakuza or a low level gang member, I'd go with the second possibility. But only one? Don't these guys roam around in- Then, I looked to the side of the building. Another dark alley. Chills ran up my spine as I caught a glimpse of a shiny blade reflecting out of the shadows.

"Tenshi, drive!" I ordered.

"What? Then, get back in-"

"No, they'll chase us! I'll stay back. Just go!"

"Are you crazy?! I'm not--"

"ARE YOU DEAF?! I SAID, DRIVE!"

Thankfully, that scared her enough to listen. I just hoped she also had the instinct to call the police too. I looked back at the alley and the rest of the group showed their faces.

"Well, well..I didn't expect this," one of the remaining thugs admitted, tossing his blade around. "You've got some nerve, little lady~"

"I could say the same for you, guys, but couldn't fool me.." I smirked.

The same thug growled under his breath, but grinned evilly, "whatever. We'll make you pay, anyway. Get her, boys!"
