~Johnny’s P.O.V.~

I had been reading to Jennie for about an hour when she fell asleep. I gently moved her head out of my lap and quietly slipped out of her room without waking her up. I walked down stairs and made myself a peanut butter and banana sandwich. It may sound gross but don’t knock it until you try it. I read the paper looking for a job I could get. I didn’t find any I liked so I figured I would ask Sodapop for one. I sat on the couch and thought about Jennie and the gang. She needed more friends but I didn’t want her to be in danger with the gang. The gang might also think she is a tag-along, which she wouldn’t like. I also didn’t want any of them flirting with her, especially Dal, Two-Bit, and Steve. But Jennie is smart and wouldn’t take that shit from them. Dal and Steve might not want her in the gang because she could be considered a geek with the glasses. But she was good at sports and could fight pretty good. I just don’t want her getting hurt. The gang isn’t the right kind of people she needs to hang out with. I sat with a blank look on my face and thought about the pros and cons of Jennie meeting the gang and all the good and bad what if’s there were to the situation. It took me a couple of hours thinking this all through. When I was done I sighed and got up to check on Jennie. She was still sleeping so I walked back down stairs. I heard Shaun’s car pull in the driveway and soon he walked through the door. “Hey Shaun.” I said and gave him a wave. Shaun was the only guy I trusted alone with my sister. I knew he would never hurt her. He was like her second brother. “Hey Johnny, how is she?” He asked. “She was hurting this morning but she took some pills and is now sleeping. I have to go get her new glasses. Take her to the park or something because if she keeps sleeping she will be up all night.” I said and grabbed my shoes and jean jacket walking out the door. “See you later man.” He said giving me a wave. I waved back at him.

~Jennie’s P.O.V.~

I awoke so see Shaun smiling at me. I smiled back, “Hi Shaun.” “Hey baby, how you feeling?” He asked. “A lot better than this morning.” I replied. “That’s good, want to go to the park?” He asked and I nodded. “Sure, let me get a hoodie and fix my hair and stuff.” I said and climbed out of bed. I sat in front of the mirror and brushed out my hair and put it into a messy bun. I never really wear makeup so I didn’t apply any. I grabbed my purple hoodie from my closet and my converse. I pulled them on and walked downstairs behind Shaun. “Where’s Johnny?” I asked looking around. “He went to go get you some new glasses.” He said and I nodded. We walked out the door and down the sidewalk in a comfortable silence towards the park. I had my hands stuffed in my pockets and Shaun had his arm around my shoulders. I need to clear something up. Shaun and I are not dating. He is just my best friend. If I could I would date him but he is unique. And I mean unique in a good way, he’s gay but surely doesn’t look it. Usually when someone is gay around here you can tell by the way they dress, or they have announced it to everyone. Shaun just looked normal, but he wasn’t that either. Shaun is Irish and you can tell. He has fiery red shaggy hair, like a sheep dog’s, and bright green eyes. In winter people sometimes mistake him for a ghost he’s so pale. Freckles spread across his face over his nose and onto his cheeks. And my favorite thing about Shaun is his accent. It is about the thickest Irish accent you have ever heard. He just moved here a couple years ago and he helped Johnny in a fight and that’s how we met. I could see the park ahead with almost bare trees and a frozen fountain. I saw two guys passing a football back and forth.

I'm still debating if I want to update another chapter later I probably will since I won't have much time to tomorrow. FYI I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST GAY PEOPLE!!! I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED A GAY BEST FRIEND SO THAT IS WHY JENNIE HAS ONE!!!! JUST INCASE ANYBODY WAS OFFENDED BY ME MAKING SHAUN GAY!!!!! AND AGAIN I'M SORRY THE CHAPTERS ARE SO SHORT!!!!! Stay Gold!!!!
