"I have something I'd like to talk about with you, John...if that's alright?"

"Okay, what is it? Is something the matter?" He asks, a worried look on his precious face.

I hesitate to tell him.

I'm not sure how he'll take the news..

"Could we go somewhere more quiet? I would rather not tell you this..." I gesture to Freddie, Roger, and Brian on the other side of the glass.

He nods, following as I lead him into the hall.

"Before I tell you...please don't be angry with me. You'll never have to see me again if you don't want to. I promise, I can go as far away from you as possible if you wish me to. I—"

"—Who was it?"

John clenches his fists by his side.

Confused, I raise an eyebrow.

"I—what?"

"Who did you cheat with?" He asks quietly.

I let out a nervous laugh.

"No, John, I—"

"Just tell me. Was it Roger? Brian? Freddie even? I won't try anything."

"John, I didn't cheat on you. It's sort of the opposite, really," I say, playing with my hands.

"The opposite..?"

"John, I'm pregnant. You're the father."

Silence.

His fists unclench.

A slow smile spreads across his face.

"Truly?"

"Yes, John. Truly. We're going to be parents," I tell him, watching as he covers his mouth with one hand, tears pooling in his eyes.

"I can't believe I...God, I'm so sorry! This is incredible!" He exclaims softly, grinning widely and wiping tears. I embrace him, on the verge of tears myself.

"I could never cheat on you, dear. You're my only one! And just think..we'll have a little one running around in seven months!"

"This is the most wonderful news I've had all day!"
