August 12th, 2021 - 6:00pm

Joe is sitting in a rocking chair, rocking Jacob to sleep after feeding him another bottle. Jill is taking a little nap, she is still very tired from everything that has happened today.

Joe hums the nursery rhyme Five Little Ducks to Jacob as Jacob falls asleep in his arms.

Jill begins to slowly wake up and she looks over and sees Joe with Jacob together, which melts her heart.

Joe then looks over and sees that Jill is awake, smiling ear to ear at her. Joe carefully puts Jacob down in his crib to sleep.

"Hello, beautiful. How was your nap?" Joe asks Jill as he kisses her a few times.

"It was heavenly, I needed some rest after today! It has been hectic and confusing to say the least." Jill says, caressing Joe's cheek with her thumb as she holds onto his face.

"It sure has been." Joe says kissing Jill's forehead.

"And you have been a trooper." Joe adds, smiling at Jill as he runs his hand through her blonde hair.

Joe and Jill hear Jacob coo in his little crib and they smile at each other, looking over to see if everything is alright with their baby boy.

"I still can't believe he is even real." Jill says and shakes her head and Joe smiles.

"Me either, Jilly. He is so perfect." Joe says with the biggest smile on his hand.

"It's so unbelievable and absolutely wonderful at the same time. I feel like I should have known, everything was so obvious with Ashley." Jill says with a sigh as she looks down at her hands.

"Don't feel like that, baby. Of course it was different this time around. You're older now, even though you don't look a day older then when we had Ashley. And these past few months have been a whirlwind of emotions and stress." Joe says, looking her firmly in the eyes.

"You are so sweet, Joey." Jill says as she kisses Joe a few times and Joe smiles.

"Jacob ate another bottle and I changed his diaper twice. He is such a good baby." Joe says Jill smiles.

"You are spoiling me rotten, honey." Jill says as she blushes at Joe.

"Let me spoil you rotten. I love spoiling you. After all, you have done so much for me over these past two years of campaigning and the election. You had a big surgery today, you need to be resting. I can take care of Jacob." Joe says as Jill smiles.

"I know, but I want him to know me too." Jill says softly to Joe.

"Jilly, he is a Mama's boy. He loves you so much. You two have such a bond already." Joe says and Jill blushes.

"I think we should call Hunt, Melissa, Hallie, Naomi, Little Hunt, Ashley, Howard, Finnegan, Naomi and Maisy." Jill says and Joe nods.

"And Val too. I may or may not have called Frank and Jimmy already. They won't tell everyone, don't worry." Joe says to Jill and she giggles.

"You are such a naughty boy, Joe." Jill says, winking at her husband.

"But of course we should call Val too. She is going to be mad we haven't called her already." Jill says to Joe and Joe laughs, reaching for his iPhone that is in his back pocket.

"Where do you want to start?" Joe asks Jill with a cheeky smile.

"Hunt maybe, I think I need someone that is somewhat easy before we accidentally put Ashley into premature labor." Jill says to Joe.

"Okay, Hunt it is." Joe says, scrolling through his iPhone contacts app and calls Hunter up on FaceTime.

After a few rings, Hunter and Melissa answer the phone.

"Hey, Hunt and Melissa." Joe and Jill both say in unison as Hunter picks up with Melissa beside him.

Joe and Jill can both hear baby Beau happily play in the background.

"Hi, Dad. Hi, Mom." Hunt says and Melissa waves.

"Beau, shhh." Melissa says trying to get the one year old to play a little quieter, which is impossible task.

"Why haven't you two returned my calls? I called you and mom, like two hours ago!" Hunt asks as he looks at his parents on his phone screen.

"Well, we have been up to unexpected things today." Joe says and lays his arm around Jill.

"Jill, Joe, are you guys in the hospital?" Melissa asks, noticing the background looks just like a hospital room.

"The hospital? MOM! DAD! Why didn't you two freaking call me! What is going on?" Hunt asks with tons of worry, worried sick something is wrong with his mom since she is the one in the hospital bed.

"Everything is just fine. Don't worry Your dad and I didn't want to call you guys and scare you." Jill says as she holds the phone while Joe leaves the phone call to get Jacob.

"Scare me? You already scared me enough today but not answering the phone! And Secret Service was acting weird too!" Hunter says getting angry as his parents but he doesn't want to yell at them.

"Hunt, Dad and I are both so sorry we scared you guys. We didn't want anybody to tell you guys this news but Dad and I." Jill says to Hunter.

"What news?" Hunter and Melissa both say in unison to Joe to Jill.

"Someone wants to meet you both! Hunter, this is your little brother Jacob. He doesn't have a middle name yet!" Joe says as he holds Jacob up to the screen to show Hunter and Melissa.

"Mom? You were p-p-pregnant? When? How? What?" Hunter asks in tons of confusion as Melissa's face is in an open position.

"Well, I think you know how Hunt, you have four of your own." Joe chuckles at his son and Jill scolds him with her eyes.

"But we didn't know, not a clue. I had no symptoms whatsoever, aside from a little back pain but that's normal in my age." Jill says to Hunter and Melissa.

"What? But a baby! At your age!" Hunter says, still incapable of taking in the sight before him.

"That's no way to talk to your mom, Hunt! Don't say that! She is not old." Joe says, looking firmly at his son through the screen and Hunter clears his throat

"To be fair Mom and Dad, not many couples have another child in their 70's." Hunter says making Joe, Jill and Melissa all chuckle.

"We weren't planning on it that's for sure." Joe says as Jacob coos some.

Melissa looks at the three of them on Hunter's phone screen and smiles happily.

"He looks so peaceful, precious and so calm. Congratulations!" Melissa says as she sighs, looking over at the mess her own son is making at their feet.

"Beau is making a big mess." Hunter says, making Jill and Joe smile and chuckle.

"Jacob has been the most perfect baby." Jill says, caressing her son's little head.

"Jacob has been peaceful and easy going all the way." Jill kisses Jacob's forehead and then Joe leans in and kisses Jill on the head

"It's because he's got the most wonderful Mama in the whole world." Joe says softly to Jill and Jill smiles up at Joe and kisses him, causing Hunter to groan briefly on the other side of the screen.

"Do you mind saving your cuddle session until later? I don't need to imagine how my little brother got made." Hunter says making Melissa, Jill and Joe all laugh.

"Beau, come here! Come here, baby boy! Pop and Nana are on the phone and wanna see you!" Melissa says as Beau happily wobbles over to Melissa before she picks him up, sitting him on her lap.

"Hiiiiii!" Beau says as he waves at Jill and Joe with a cheeky smile.

"Hi, Beauy! Hi, baby boy! Nana and Pop miss you so so much!" Jill says as she blows kisses to Beau, making him smile and giggle.

"Hi, Beau! Hi, buddy! This is your Uncle Jacob! I know this is very confusing but that's okay! You and Jacob will be best friends!" Joe says to Beau and Beau claps his hands happily.

"How are you feeling, Mom? Are you feeling okay?" Hunter asks Jill softly.

"I feel great except I'm sore. I had an emergency c-section and a hysterectomy so I have an incision to take care of." Jill says to Hunter and Melissa.

"Why don't Hunt, Beau and I fly in to help you two for a few weeks! Hunt and I can help Joe with Jacob and help Jill recover." Melissa says and Hunter nods.

"You really don't have to." Jill says to Hunter and Melissa.

"Joe and I can handle Jacob, it won't be a problem. I obviously won't go back to teaching for a while, so I'll have all the time in the world to take care of this little guy." Jill says as she strokes Jacob's head and gives him a few kisses.

"No, we really mean it! Dad will have to work and you need to be careful with your incision and everything. We'll gladly help!" Hunter says, begging his mom to be careful of her own recovery.

"Wouldn't it be nice with two extra pairs of hands, Jilly? So we don't have to worry?" Joe pleaded with his wife.

"Okay, you can come. But only if you want to." Jill says to Melissa and Hunter and Beau claps his hands at his Nana and Pop.

"Did you hear that, Beauy? We are going to see Nana and Pop!" Melissa says, smiling at her happy toddler son.

"Na na! Pop!" Beau says with a big grin.

"We can't wait to see you little guy!" Joe says to Beau and blows him a few kisses.

"When are you being discharged from the hospital?" Hunter asks Jill and Joe as he sits Beau in his lap.

"We will probably be here a week. The doctors want to keep an eye on Mom and Jacob." Joe says to Hunter and Melissa.

"That gives us time to pack! We have to pack a lot for this little guy!" Melissa says, tickling Beau's tummy and Beau laughs.

"I can't wait to see you, Mom and Jacob! We haven't seen each other since the inauguration." Hunter says to Jill and Joe.

"I know, life's been crazy these past few months. I think this will be a good thing for all of us to see each other for a few weeks and hang out as a family." Joe says with a smile and so does Jill.

"We are going to call Aunt Val, Ash, Howard, Hallie, and the grandkids so please don't call them." Jill says to Hunter and Melissa.

"We won't!" Melissa says with a cheeky grin.

"Aunt Val is going to FLIP! And the grandkids too! Maisy and Finnegan are together and Naomi is with Peter on vacation." Hunter says to Jill and Joe.

"Okay, thanks for the info, Hunt! We will call all of them all after we have called Ashley!" Joe says and looks down at Jill who smiles up at him.

"We can't wait to see their reaction, they have always loved babies although I don't think they expected this curve ball." Jill says, patting Jacob's back and chuckles at Hunter and Melissa.

"They will be excited though!" Melissa says as Beau jumps happily on her lap.

"Okay. Dad and Mom, call me later or tomorrow, okay?" Hunter asks his parents and Joe nods.

"Of course, Hunt. I'll call you tomorrow." Joe says and he and Jill both wave goodbye to Hunter, Melissa and Beau.

"Well, that first call went well, didn't it?" Joe asks with a smile at Jill and Jill nods.

"Jacob's first ever phone call." Jill says with a chuckle.

"He is a smooth talker already, without saying a word." Joe winks at Jill.

"Just like his Dad." Jill winks back at Joe and Joe chuckles.

"Do you want to call Ashley now?" Joe asks Jill.

"Yeah I think that's the best, before Hunter accidentally slips anything to her." Jill says, repositioning Jacob on her chest.

Joe sits down next to Jill and wraps his arm around her before kissing Jill a few times.

"Mmm, I love you, Joey." Jill says softly to Joe and Joe smirks.

"I love you too, Jilly." Joe says as he kisses Jill's cheek.

"Are you ready to meet your big sister and brother-in-law Howard? Yeah!" Jill says in a babyfied voice at Jacob as he sneezes.

"Bless you, little man!" Joe says as Jill giggles.

Joe calls Ashley and he and Jill patiently wait for her or Howard to answer the phone. Just then, Howard answers.

"Hey, Joe and Jill! Ashley is straightening her hair! Don't worry, she isn't in labor! She has a month to go though!" Howard says happily to his in-laws.

"Hi, Howard!" Jill and Joe both say with big smiles.

"She is her mother's daughter after all, so you can probably expect that when she goes into labor too." Joe says and chuckles at the memories of Ashley's birth.

"Okay, I'll note that down!" Howard says and smiles back at Joe and Jill.

"Do you think you could get Ashley for us?" Jill asks Howard. 

"We have something we'd like to tell you guys." Joe adds as Howard goes to get Ashley from the master bathroom.

"Hi, honey. Your parents called your phone and I picked up, they say they want to tell us something" Howard says to Ashley as he enters the bathroom.

Ashley turns around and looks at her phone screen, seeing her parents on the screen. 

"Hi, Mom and Dad! Wait, are you two in a hospital? Why are you in the hospital? Did something happen? Mom, are you okay?" Ashley asks as she gets worried by the sight of her mother in a hospital bed.

"I'm okay now, don't worry! Don't worry, sweety! I had a little scare this morning but everything is perfectly alright now." Jill says, smiling first up at her husband and then at her daughter and son-in-law.

Joe chuckles and smiles at Jill, causing Jill to giggle too.

"You go ahead and tell them, Joe." Jill says as she softly pats Jacob's back.

"Well, your mom had to go into the hospital because she had horrific stomach pains and bleeding. Then once she got to the hospital, she needed emergency surgery. But everything is fine now." Joe says and sees the shock in Ashley's eyes.

"She needed an emergency c-section and she had a hysterectomy too." Joe says, squeezing Jill's shoulder.

Reliving the drama every single time they told the story was extremely painful for him and he got caught up in his feelings.

"Wait? What? An emergency c-section? But why?" Ashley looks in confusion, questioning her parents.

"Turns out I was pregnant." Jill says with a cheeky smile.

"Meet your baby brother, Jacob." Jill adds as Joe tilts the phone down to show Jacob laying on Jill's chest.

"MOM, YOU WERE PREGNANT? You didn't even look or seem pregnant these past nine months!" Ashley says in utter shock.

"Wow! This is shocking news!" Howard says with a chuckle.

"I had no symptoms of pregnancy whatsoever except back pain but that's because I'm old." Jill says as she making everybody laugh.

Jacob coos and yawns on Jill's chest causing Ashley to awe loudly. 

"Oh my gosh, he is so sweet and cute! He is going to have a niece that's a month younger than him! That's cute! Does anybody else know?" Ashley asks Jill and Joe.

"Kamala and Doug, Uncle Frank, Uncle Jimmy, Hunter and Melissa all know so far." Joe says to Ashley and Howard.

"Ohhhh! You haven't told Aunt Val yet?" Ashley asks her mom and dad.

"No, she is next! After Hallie and the kids!" Joe says, smiling ear to ear at his daughter.

"She is going to freak out! You know how she is with babies! She has been bugging me for the past two months to push mine out already! She will love this!" Ashley squeals and pulls Howard in for a hug.

"Well, I hope she will be excited too!" Joe says, winking at Jill, knowing the effort Val has put into keep the demure in public over the years.

"So what's his middle name? Have you two decided?" Ashley asks, desperate to know everything about her new baby brother.

"We haven't gotten that far yet. Right now, we only know his name will be Jacob. Although I might have some ideas for middle names." Jill explains to Ashley.

"We haven't had that much time to talk about names yet, they will come eventually." Joe says and kisses Jill's head and then Jacob's head.

"But how are you feeling Ashley? And how is baby Eugenia doing?" Jill asks Ashley.

"Eugenia is doing just fine! Kicking away in there! And I am fine as well! I'm just a bit shocked, I never expected to be a big sister." Ashley says, a bit exhausted from the initial shock.

"We didn't expect you to be one, but here we are." Joe says happily, admiring his family both in their hospital room and his daughter and son-in-law on the screen.

"Jacob has a nephew a year older than him and then he will have a niece that's younger than him! Oh and he has Devi too!" Jill says with a chuckle.

"How long will you be in the hospital?" Ashley asks Joe and Jill.

"About a week! A lot longer than usual but everybody wants your mom and Jacob to be okay." Joe says softly.

Jacob begins to cry a little and Jill quickly calms him down.

"Shhh, it's okay, Jakey. It's okay. Are you hungry again? Are you cluster feeding?" Jill asks Jacob softly.

"He loves to eat that's for sure!" Joe says with a chuckle.

"Howard and I want to come and visit whenever you all get out of the hospital." Ashley says to Joe and Ashley.

"Ashley, you need to stay home just in case you go into labor!" Jill says to Ashley.

"I'll be okay! And I need to meet my baby brother! It's not a far drive! Howard can drive me!" Ashley says as Howard laughs.

"I'm sure he can, that's what he is for in these times. Just be careful, I want you and my granddaughter to be safe and healthy, okay?" Joe says to Ashley and Ashley smiles.

"Yes, Dad. I'll be as safe as possible, I promise. You aren't the only one that wants to me this little one soon." Ashley responds as she rubs her pregnant belly protectively.

"We are all looking forward to meeting her." Jill says, patting on Jacob's behind to keep him calm and relaxed.

"We have to go now, but take care Mom and take it easy! Don't push yourself too hard, I know you." Ashley says and leans into Howard.

"Love you Ash" Joe says happily to Ashley.

"Well I like you too, Howard" Joe chuckles playfully.

"Take care of yourself and baby girl! Call me if you need anything! I love you!" Jill says to her daughter.

"You might not be of the most help right now considering the state you're in, but I'll remember if I need it, okay?" Ashley says to her mom who chuckles at her daughters wit.

"Bye, Ash and Howard!" Joe and Jill both say in unison to as they wave goodbye at them before they end the call.

"Is Jacob hungry, Jilly?" Joe asks Jill and Jill nods.

"Yeah, he is sucking on his fingers. Little guy is hungry. Aren't you, baby? You are hungry!" Jill says softly to Jacob as she rocks him and kisses his forehead.

"Cluster feeding must be a real thing! I don't remember this with the other four!" Joe says with a chuckle.

"I do!" Jill says as she chuckles and smiles at Joe before smiling down at Jacob.

Joe asks the nurse for another bottle and she brings it a few minutes later.

Jill begins to happily Jacob, the first time she gets to feed him.

"You we're hungry, weren't you, baby? Yes, you were. Mama loves you so so much." Jill says softly to Jacob and Joe smiles.

"Wanna think about middle names while you feed him?" Joe asks Jill.

"Sure! Do you have any ideas, honey?" Jill asks Joe.

"I don't honestly! What about you?" Joe asks Jill softly as he rubs Jacob's head as he happily drinks his bottle.

"I think I do. How about Francis after your brother Frank?" Jill says to Joe and Joe smiles.

"After my little brother? Why?" Joe asks Jill curious on her choice of middle name.

"You wouldn't have me if it wasn't for Frank knowing me and going to college with me." Jill says playfully smacking Joe's arm, causing him to laugh.

"And we wouldn't have Ashley or Jacob. So you better be thankful to your little brother." Jill says playfully to Joe.

"Jacob Francis Biden. That sounds perfect to me." Joe says as Jill smiles.

"What time was he born? Do you know?" Jill asks Joe curiously, since she wasn't awake when Jacob was born.

"2:03pm." Joe says as Jill begins to tear up and Joe gets confused.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying? Don't cry, Jilly." Joe says to Jill as he wipes her eyes.

"Beau" Jill whimpers softly and Joe looks at his wife, still confused.

"What about Beau, Jilly?" Joe asks her as he tries to comfort her.

"The time. The time Jacob was born is Beau's birthday. 2:03. February 3rd." Jill tries to explain through her tears and Joe stares at her.

"You're right." Joe lets out a gasp, a bit choked up by the connection between his oldest and youngest child.

"Shouldn't we name him after Beau?" Jill asks softly as she cradles Jacob closer as he burps him.

"Yes, we should." Joe says as he nods.

"It sure seems like he was with us today. That he was with you in that scary operating room, keeping you and Jacob safe and healthy." Joe says and kisses Jill on the forehead.

"Jacob Francis Beau Biden." Jill says and looks up at Joe.

"Yes, Jacob Francis Beau Biden. That is perfect." Joe says and nods at Jill.

"Our own little miracle right here in our arms." Jill says, kissing Jacob a few times.

Jill, Jacob and Joe all cuddle for a bit in Jill's hospital bed, taking in the fact that they have a little addition to their family. After a while, Jacob whimpers a bit and squirms around with a bothered look on his face.

"Joe, we have a situation incoming." Jill jokes and lifts up Jacob's head.

"Do you have a poopy diaper for your Daddy? Yes, you do!" Jill says and looks up at Joe.

"I'll take him and when we come back we can call Hallie and the grandkids maybe?" Joe asks and Jill nods.

"Sounds like a plan, have fun with your little surprise package." Jill says as he giggles and Joe laughs

"There is no surprise about what's in here." Joey says as he points at Jacob's diaper.

Joe changes Jacob's diaper and Jill watches in awe, seeing her husband do things he hasn't done in years.

Once Joe is finished changing Jacob's diaper, he rocks him for a few minutes, admiring his baby boy in the process.

Joe smiles at Jill and Jill smiles back at him.

"You want Mama? Yes, you want to cuddle with Mama." Joe says, placing Jacob back on Jill's bare chest.

"Hi, baby boy. You are such a good boy. Are you ready to meet some more family?" Jill says softly to Jacob as he coos.

"I'll call up Hallie, hopefully Nat and little Hunt are there too." Joe says as he picks up his phone again and calls Hallie's number.

After a few rings, Natalie answers!

"Hi, Pop! Hi, Nana!" Natalie answers the phone with a big smile.

"Hi, Nat!" Jill and Joe both say in unison to Natalie.

"Where is your mom and brother, Nat?" Joe asks as he tries to look behind Natalie to see if he can see Hallie or little Hunter.

"They are downstairs in the kitchen making dinner! Mom had just forgotten her phone upstairs." Natalie explains as she makes her way down to the kitchen.

"Hi, everyone!" Jill says as Natalie enters the kitchen.

"Hi, Nana! Oh and hi, Pop!" Hunter says with a cheeky grin.

"Hi, Jill and Joe! It is good to see you two!" Hallie says and they all smile at the screen.

"How are you all?" Joe asks, cradling Jill closer.

"We are fine, just waiting on this news that Aunt Ash said you had for us!" Natalie says with a bright smile.

"You've already talked to Ashley?" Jill asks, afraid Ashley spilled the news.

"Yeah, but she didn't want to tell us anything, she just said you had big news." Hunter says to Jill and Joe.

"Ugh, it was so annoying! She wouldn't spill anything!" Natalie says with sass making Joe and Jill chuckle.

"She didn't! She did a great job keeping the big news a secret." Hallie says as he turns the heat off on the stove so the food doesn't burn.

"Well, someone wants to meet their nephew, niece and sister-in-law." Joe says as he points the iPhone down to Jacob who is still awake and laying on Jill's chest.

"Meet Jacob Francis Beau Biden. Pop and I had a baby!" Jill says proudly as Joe smiles.

Hallie smiles with joy but then begins to tear up as she hears Beau's name. Even with it being six years ago, just hearing the name Beau can make Hallie tear up.

"A baby? Nana! I thought you couldn't have babies anymore!" Natalie asks in confusion.

"Right! I thought once you were like forty you couldn't have kids!" Hunter says in confusion as well.

"Well, Kamala is in her 50's and she had a baby! Anyone can have a baby at any age honestly if you are healthy and everything works!" Joe tries to explain even though he still even being 78, how women reproductive system works.

"Okay spare us those details, Nana and Pop." Natalie says with a disturbed look on her face causing Joe to chuckle.

"Yeah, we don't need to know." Hunter says as he tries to hide his face with his hoodie.

Hallie laughs at her daughter and son's disturbed faces, finding this very hilarious.

"But when? How? I talked to you yesterday and then you didn't have a baby." Hallie says to Jill with a smile.

"Well, it started last night with stomach pains and they continued this morning." Jill explains to Hallie and Hallie listens in.

"She was in so much pain, Hallie. It was really hard to see." Joe says, starting to tear up when he thinks of the feelings he felt this morning.

"We called an ambulance and they took me to the hospital, found out that I needed an emergency c-section with a hysterectomy and Jacob came to the world:" Jill says, smiling down at the peaceful baby on her chest.

"Wow!" Natalie and Hunter say in unison, taken aback by the unexpected news of having a new uncle.

"That's unbelievable, and you didn't know a thing? No feeling at all?" Hallie asks her mother-in-law.

"No! Absolutely nothing. I had some back pains but that's normal for my age. Other than that, nothing." Jill explains to Hallie.

"That's amazing. I was drenched with so many symptoms with these two." Hallie says, gesturing at her children.

"Sorry, Mom!" Hunter and Natalie both say in unison to Hallie.

"It's okay, you two were worth absolutely everything I went through." Hallie says hugging both Hunter and Natalie.

"Soooo, do we have to call him Uncle Jacob? How does that work?" Natalie asks Jill and Joe.

"I know someone who is the same age as their nephew but they don't use Uncle." Hunter says out loud.

"You guys can just call him Jacob. He is more like a cousin to you guys I guess even though he is really your uncle." Joe says as he laughs.

"He is just Jacob! I think it will be weird to call him Uncle." Jill says to the kids.

"Yeah, it would be" Hunter says and Natalie nods in agreement.

"Little Jacob, baby even." Natalie says quietly, trying to take in the whole situation.

"So when can we come see him? And you?" Hunter asks his Nana and Pop.

"Well, we will stay here for about a week. The doctors wants to keep an eye on me and Jacob just to make sure we are doing well." Jill explains to the kids. 

"Hunter and Melissa are coming to help us when we get home, but you guys are more than welcome to come see little Jacob when we are back home. They won't let you in to the hospital for COVID reasons" Joe explains as he smiles at Jacob.

"It is going to be like a family reunion! Seeing Uncle Hunt and Aunt Melissa with baby Beau! We haven't seen Baby Beau since Inauguration Day. And plus we will see you two and meet baby Jacob!" Natalie says with excitement happy to see her uncle, aunr, baby cousin, grandmother, grandfather and baby uncle. 

"That sounds really fun! We can catch up and have a big sleep over at the White House." Hallie says with a grin.

"Is Aunt Ash and Uncle Howard coming too? Or is she too pregnant?" Hunter asks Jill and Joe.

"Aunt Ash said she is coming too! She and Uncle Howard will drive from Delaware to DC to visit. I'm just praying she doesn't go into labor on the ride or at the White House!" Jill says with a giggle, causing Hallie, Hunter and Natalie to all laugh.

"Yeah, we don't want that to happen." Joe adds with a laugh.

"Okay but take care now Nana and Pop and we will see you later at the White House!" Natalie says and Hunter nods

"We will!" Jill says and waves at them.

"We love you both!" Joe says before he ends the phone call.

"Are you sleepy little guy?" Jill says as Jacob's eyes flutter close.

"You can sleep if you want to little bud." Joe says, patting his son's back.

"He is so cute when he is sleepy. Reminds me of you." Jill says with a giggle and Joe smiles.

"Let's call Naomi and Peter right away" Joe says with a grin at Jill.

"If you aren't to tired." Joe adds, looking at Jill.

"No, I'm fine. I want them all to know right away before the media finds out." Jill says, smiling up at Joe.

Joe finds Naomi's phone number in his phone and calls it. Naomi answers after two rings!

"Hi, Naomi." Joe and Jill both say when Naomi picks up.

"Hi, Nana and Pop!" Naomi says happily to her grandparents.

"Peter! Honey! Nana and Pop are on the phone!" Naomi shouts to Peter who comes into the frame.

"I heard from Ashley you two had some news, so I guess it's best for Peter is here too." Naomi says happily as Peter sits down near to her

"Ashley has called you guys too?" Jill asks and Naomi nods.

"She works fast and hard just like her mother does." Joe jokes with a smile.

"So, what do you want to tell us, Nana and Pop?" Naomi asks, looking behind them for clues to their news.

"Are you in a hospital?" Naomi asks and Jill nods.

"Yes, we are. Nana had to go in this morning. She is fine though, don't worry." Joe adds to not have Naomi and Peter worry.

"We have a little special someone who would like to meet you both." Jill says and Joe lowers the phone to show Jacob.

"This is your new little baby Uncle Jacob Francis Beau Biden." Joe says with a big smile on his face.

"Uncle? Wait! Wait! Nana and Pop, you two had a baby? How!" Naomi says in utter shock.

"Woah, Naomi! We can wait to have babies in our 70's if we want!" Peter says to Naomi, causing Naomi to giggle.

"Pop and I had no idea I was even pregnant! I had no symptoms either! But now we have baby Jacob!" Jill says to Naomi and Peter.

"Your Nana has been a trooper. She has handled this all so well." Joe adds, smiling down on his now sleeping baby son.

"Wow, I just can't believe it! A baby! And who would have thought that we would be the next after Ashley and Howard. Well, I was wrong. This was suppose to be us, Peter!" Naomi says, looking baffled at Peter as they both giggle.

"Sometimes life gives us wonderful and unexpected surprises." Jill says, brushing her hand over Jacob's head.

"You named him after Uncle Beau and Uncle Frank! How cute!" Naomi says happily as she admires her baby Uncle.

"And his first name is after Nana's maiden name which is Jacobs." Joe says proudly.

"Uncle Frank was the one that brought Pop and I together. And Jacob was born at 2:03pm and 2/3 is Beau's birthday. It was a sign he was with us." Jill says as she tries to not tear up.

"Uncle Beau was with you three today! You know he would have been so excited to have another baby brother." Naomi says as she tears up too.

"He would have been the best brother, he was." Joe says while drying the corners of his eyes with his cuff, thinking of his beloved son.

"We better start thinking of baby names soon, Naomi. If they are meant to have that much meaning." Peter says and looks Naomi deep in the eyes.

"Hell no! You will not have a baby anytime soon. Your only a baby." Joe says to his granddaughter.

"Pop, I'm already as old as when you had uncle Beau and I'm not even pregnant yet" Naomi says to her Pop.

"That's not for us to decide Joe." Jill says and looks up at him.

"The more babies the merrier." Jill says with a cheeky smile causing Naomi to smile.

"Thank you, Nana! Pop, if Nana can have a baby at her age, I can have a baby too." Naomi says with a giggle.

"I don't know if your dad is really to be a grandpa anytime soon." Joe says with a chuckle.

Jacob grabs onto Jill's Beau necklace again causing Naomi to awe.

"Jacob has been doing this a lot today." Joe says as he kisses Jill.

"He knows Beau is with you guys." Peter says with a smile.

"He really does" Naomi adds as she tears up.

"I can't wait to see you and to meet him! When are you coming home you think?" Naomi asks Jill and Joe.

"The doctors have said we need to stay here at least a week but hopefully we will be back at the White House sooner rather than later" Jill says to Naomi and Peter.

"Your dad, Melissa and Beauy are coming to help us and Natalie, Hunt and Hallie are coming to meet Jacob too. Of course you guys are welcome to visit too" Joe adds to Naomi and Peter.

"We might wait a bit then, we don't want you two to get overwhelmed" Naomi says to her Ana a and Pop.

"We will see, I think we will be alright. Come whenever you want to." Jill says smiling down at Jacob who is fast asleep.

"Well, this was wonderful news, Nana and Pop! I still really can't believe it! I love you guys!" Naomi says softly to Jill and Joe.

"We love you too!" Jill and Joe both say in unison before they end the phone call.

Jacob softly snores as Jill smiles down at him. Jill softly kisses Jacob and keeps him covered up with his blanket.

"Three more special people left to call. I'm ready for a nap after all of these phones calls." Jill says with a chuckle.

"Me too. I haven't slept all day and didn't sleep  well last night." Joe says to Jill.

Jacob continues to hold onto Jill's Beau necklace as he sleeps.

"I'll call up Finnegan. Hunter did say Maisy was with her" Joe says, dialing up to call the two last grandkids.

"Sounds good to me, honey." Jill says and yawns.

After two rings, Finnegan answers the phone!

"Hi, Fin!" Joe says with a smile at his number granddaughter.

"Hi, Nana and Pop!" Finnegan answers with a smile.

"Do you have Maisy close by?" Jill asks Finnegan with a grin.

"We have something we'd like to tell you both!" Joe adds with a cheeky grin.

"Yeah I'll get her! Maisy!" Finnegan shouts, calling for Maisy.

"Yeah!" Maisy says from another room.

"Nana and Pop is on the phone, they want to tell us something" Finnegan says to her younger sister.

"Yeah, Ashley told me they would call us." Maisy says as she sits down next to Finneganz

Joe and Jill share a look, knowing Ashley told everybody very fast.

"Ash works really fast!" Joe says to Jill and chuckles.

"Everything is alright by the way but we just wanted to let you both know that we're in the hospital." Joe says, seeing the fear rise in both of their eyes

"What? What happened?" Maisy asks, worried about her Nana and Pop.

"Well, Nana and I had a baby! Surprise!" Joe says as he shows Jacob laying on Jill's chest, fast asleep.

Finnegan and Maisy both gasp at the sight of a baby but they begin to get confused.

"What! What do you mean? Like you guys had an actual baby?" Finnegan asks in confusion. 

"Is that a baby doll?" Maisy asks and Jacob moves, proving that he isn't a doll.

"Yes, we had a baby! I was pregnant and I had no idea about it until today. This is your uncle, Jacob Francis Beau Biden." Jill says proudly. 

"What?" Finnegan and Maisy both say in unison and their mouths drop open.

"Yes, it's true!" Joe chuckles at their reactions

Finnegan shakes her head and Maisy's mouth stays open.

"Ashley said you had big news but I could never have believed this would be it." Maisy says to her Nana and Pop.

"Well, here we are! We didn't expect it either but he is so sweet." Jill says and Jacob coos on her chest.

"He looks so lovely and adorable." Finnegan says, still shaking her head in disbelief.

"He is so little! Aww!" Maisy says with a cheeky grin.

"We are going to be here for a week. Your dad, Melissa and Beau are coming to town to help us for a few weeks. Aunt Hallie, Nat, Little Hunt, Naomi and Peter are going to come and visit too. You two can come as well! We can have a be ole family reunion." Joe says as he chuckles.

"What about Aunt Ash and Uncle Howard?" Finnegan asks Jill and Joe.

"Aunt Ashley said she has Uncle Howard will drive from Delaware to DC to be with us for a few weeks! Hopefully baby Eugenia doesn't decide to be born then!" Jill says as she, Joe, Finnegan and Maisy all laugh.

"Well, Dad can help! He almost had to help Melissa give birth to Beau!" Maisy says as she giggles.

"I don't think Aunt Ash wants her brother looking at her down there. That's awkward." Finnegan says playfully and Maisy giggles.

"There's always a physician at the White House and Walter Reed is just in the other side of the river, so I think your dad is in the clear this time." Joe chuckles, making Finnegan and Maisy both giggle.

"Aww!" Finnegan says as Jacob stretches his arms on Jill's chest.

"Sooooo cute!" Maisy adds with a smile.

Jill and Joe hear a doorbell go off on the other side of the call.

"That must be Sarah!" Maisy says with a grin.

"Our friend Sarah is coming over to hang out" Finnegan says to Jill and Joe.

"I think we will have to go! But congratulations Nana and Pop! Love you!" Maisy says as she leaves to go open the door.

"Bye, Nana and Pop!" Finnegan says with a cheeky smile at Jill and Joe.

"We love you girls too!" Jill and Joe both say in unison as they wave at Finnegan before ending the phone call.

"Only Val left." Joe says, putting down his phone and planting a kiss at Jill's lips and one on Jacob's head.

"Then a nice nap, okay?" Jill says to Joe who smiles

"Then we can take a nap" Joe agrees.

Jacob stretches his arms again causing Jill and Joe to smile.

"Mommy and Daddy are going to want to take a nap and you are going to be wide awake, huh?" Jill says to Jacob as he continues to sleep.

Joe smiles at Jill and Jacob cuddling together in the hospital bed.

"I can't wait to cuddle with you tonight, Jilly." Joe says with a smirk and Jill giggles.

"I don't think we can both fit in this small bed, Joey." Jill says as he giggles.

"I'm sure we will fit. If not, you can lay on top of me" Joe says and winks at Jill as Jill playfully smacks him on the arm

"Silly, we can't do that yet, my incision needs to heal first." Jill says to Joe.

"I know, baby. But that doesn't mean I can't hold you." Joe says and bends down to kiss Jill

"Awww, would you hold me the entire night?" Jill asks with a smirk:

"Of course, baby. I'm not sleeping in another bed if we are both in the same place. I need you to get my peace." Joe smiles down at her again.

"You are too sweet." Jill says, pouting her lips and Joe bends down placing another kiss on her lips.

"Let's call Val before we fall asleep." Joe says and pulls up Val's number on his phone.

After just one ring, Val answers the phone, unsure how to hold the phone during a FaceTime call.

"What the hell is going on? Frank said Jill is sick and then Jimmy said you were sick! What's the story?" Val yells, causing Joe and Jill to both laugh.

"Well, you have a new nephew who wants to meet you! Meet baby Jacob Francis Beau Biden." Joe says as he shows Jill and Jacob together.

"WHAT THE HELL? You two had a baby?" Val asks Joe and Jill in lots of confusion as she smiles at the baby.

"Yup" Jill says, chuckling a bit at Val's strong reaction.

"We didn't know anything!" Joe explains to his sister.

"Jill went in with stomach pains and bleeding and came out of surgery with a c-section and hysterectomy scar and a new baby." Joe says with a cheeky smile.

"What? I still can't believe this How? What? This is too much! At your age! A baby?" Val says in disbelief.

"Yeah, it seems so!" Joe says, laughing at his sister while he holds a hand on Jacob's back.

"And you name the poor baby after Frank? I presume? Why Joey? Why?" Val asks in more disbelief.

"That was Jilly's idea to name him after Frank! Not mine." Joe says with a chuckle and Jill gives Joe a look.

"Well, he was the one who connected us of those years ago." Jill explains with a smile.

"We probably wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him" Joe adds to Jill's explanation.

"So now I'm worried about getting pregnant at my age now! Are you okay, Jill? How are you feeling?" Val asks Jill who is like a sister to her.

"I feel really good! I'm just sore where the incision is but other then that I'm well." Jill says to Val.

Jacob sneezes twice causing Jill, Joe and Val to all smile and awe.

"Jacob looks a lot like Beau and his mama." Joe says with a big proud smile.

"Of course he is gorgeous like his Mama." Val says and admires the little baby.

"Thanks sis. Just remember, that we practically have the same face." Joe says with a chuckle.

"That wasn't what I meant and you know that!" Val says and pulls down her reading glasses to get a closer look at Jacob.

"He has been so kind and easy." Jill says softly as she kisses Jacob.

"It's no wonder I didn't know I was pregnant! if he's been this peaceful all the time." Jill says rubbing Jacob's back.

"He sure does look peaceful, you deserve an easy baby with your hectic lives." Val says to Jill and Joe with a grin. 

"Of course I'll help you if you need!" Val adds, making Jill and Joe giggle.

"The best baby sitter!" Joe says with a smile.

"Why don't you and Jack come down and visit!" Jill says as Jacob coos some.

"Yeah, a lot of the family will be coming to visit once we get discharged from the hospital." Joe says happily to Val.  

"Oh I'd... We'd love to, as soon as you two get settled in. I don't want to be in the way." Val says, smiling at them both.

"You're never in the way, Val" Jill says smiling back at her

"You are the best aunt ever!" Jill adds with a grin.

"You'd be more helpful than in the way Val and you know that." Joe says smiling at his sister.

"Aww! I love you both, all three of you I should say." Val says with a cheeky smile.

"Jacob and I have been cuddling for hours now and I wish we could cuddle all day long." Jill says as Val awes.

"Well, that's what babies love to do! Cuddle with their Mamas!" Val says happily.

"Jacob needs Daddy time too." Joe says with a smile.

"He had you for two hours!" Jill says playfully to Joe.

"Let Jacob he with his Mama! It's important for them to bond! It's important for you to bond with him too but it's more important with Jill." Val says as Jill giggles and Joe gets annoyed.

"Thanks, Val!" Joe says with some playful sass.

"But it's true Joey. Plus, if you got dabs it isn't more than right that Jill gets some extra time." Val says with a chuckle at her oldest brother.

"Oh, I can't wait for you to meet him. He will love you so so much." Jill says, softly kissing Jacob's head.

"And I'll love him so so so much!" Val adds tearing up a bit at the cute scene before her.

"How long will you be in the hospital?" Val asks them.

"The doctor said a week, but nothing is set in stone. They want to keep some extra observation on both Jill and Jacob." Joe explains to his sister.

"Okay, that sounds good! It'll give you some time to bond all three of you." Val says and aaws as Jacob squirms around on Jill's chest.

"We all love you, Val!" Jill says as she waves at Val.

"We love you, sis! We will call you every couple of days to give you updates!" Joe says to Val.

Jill then waves Jacob's little hand like he is waving, causing Val to awe loudly.

Val, Joe and Jill talk for a few more minutes before ending the call!

Joe places Jacob in his crib to sleep and then he and Jill take a much needed long nap!
