Los Angeles, California

Joe, Jill and Jacob are in The Beast heading to Cedar Sinai Medical Center after visiting with Governor Gavin Newsom and firefighters who have been fiercely fighting the wildfires that have been going on these past few days.

Despite the sadness over the wildfires, today is a very special day in the Biden family. Today, Naomi and Peter welcomed their son, William Barron Neal, IV into the world!

After a few "this could be it" moments these past few weeks, Naomi's doctors decided to schedule a c-section due to William's size and that decision was a good one because William weighed 10 pounds, 4 ounces!  

Naomi and Peter already have an almost fourteen month old daughter, Maeve Neilia. So far, Maeve loves her baby brother which is a relief to Naomi and Peter.

Naomi, William and Peter have been placed into a room on the postpartum unit and have already been visited by Kathleen, Hunter, Melissa and Hunter and Melissa's three children - Beau, Joey and Zoe.

Joe, Jill and Jacob will visit Naomi, Peter and baby William before they, Hunter, Melissa and their three children all go back to Washington DC. Tomorrow is going to be a long and day of mourning because it is the state funeral of Former President Jimmy Carter.

Jacob is happily drinking a half of a vanilla bean crème frappuccino from Starbucks, something Ashley got him into during the holidays. Now Jacob wants them often, which Jill isn't a fan of.

"Mama! I so cited to see Nomi, Peeeeeter and da baby!" Jacob says happily.

"I am really excited as well!" Jill says with a big smile.

"You cited Daddy?" Jacob asks Joe, with whip cream on his face which Jill cleans off.

"I am! Mama and I are great grandparents for the second time now." Joe says to Jacob.

"Woahhhhhh!" Jacob excitedly says, causing Joe to chuckle.

"Hey Jakey, Daddy and I want to talk to you before we head into the hospital about what Daddy and I expect from you okay?" Jill says to Jacob, wanting Jacob to know the expectations for his behavior in the hospital, a place Jacob hasn't been to often.

Jill and Joe had this conversation with Jacob a few weeks ago, when they thought the baby was coming then, so Jill wants to make sure Jacob remembers what they talked about.

"Uh huh!" Jacob says, happily drinking his drink.

"When we go into the hospital, what do we not do?" Jill asks Jacob.

"SCWREAM!" Jacob yells loudly, starling Jill and Joe.

"Shh shh, that's right. We do not scream in the hospital. We have to use our inside voice." Jill says as Jacob nods.

"What else do we not do, Jakey?" Joe asks Jacob.

"Ummmm! Jump arwound!" Jacob thinks about the answer before saying it.

"Well, you can jump because you are excited but you have to be careful where you jump." Joe says as Jill sighs at that answer, not agreeing with it but not wanting to argue with Joe at this moment.

"Who are we not going to jump on?" Jill asks Jacob.

"Nomi!" Jacob claps his hands happily.

"Naomi, that's right. Naomi has a really sore tummy so we have to be gentle when we give her hugs and kisses today." Joe says to Jacob.

"We have to be gentle with the baby. Soft pats, don't hug him too tight and we don't give kisses on his lips, only on his head or hat." Jill says.

"Mama, I show Nomi and Peter my shirt!" Jacob points at his t-shirt, kinda ignoring what Jill just said.

*Imagine it says Coolest Great Uncle Ever. The world Great is sewed on. Jacob has a shirt black long sleeve shirt underneath*

"You can show them! When we get out of the car we can take your jacket off. It shouldn't be too cold in the hospital." Joe says to Jacob.

"When we leave the hospital, Hunter, Melissa, Beau, Joey and Zoe are going to fly back home with us." Jill says, causing Jacob to cheer.

Due to the wildfires, Hunter and Melissa's home is in an evacuation zone, so Joe and Jill told them to come back to the White House to stay for the time being.

"YAY! May May too?" Jacob asks Joe and Jill.

"No, Maeve is staying here with Naomi, Peter her baby brother and Grammy Kathleen. But don't worry, we will see all of them again after today!" Joe says to Jacob.

- Fifteen Minutes Later -
Cedar-Sinai Medical Center

Joe, Jacob and Jill all walk into the hospital, holding each other's hands.

The press is screaming at Joe and Jill, wanting the couple to talk to them but Joe and Jill ignore them. But Jacob did yell hello!

"Jakey, do you want to get a balloon and a teddy bear for the baby?" Joe asks Jacob, causing the toddler's face to light up.

"YES! And candy!" Jacob says excitedly.

"No, the baby can't eat candy." Jill says with a slight chuckle.

"But Nomi and Peter can, Mama!" Jacob says with sass.

"Well, let's see what they have. They might not want any candy, sweety." Joe says to Jacob.

Jill, Joe and Jacob walk it on the tiny gift shop, causing the Secret Service to panic since this wasn't part of the plan.

Jill and Joe greet the staff as they look at everything in the gift shop. Jacob happily looked and played with some of the little toys that were there.

"The balloon says "It's A Boy" because the baby is a boy." Joe says to Jacob, holding the blown up balloon.

"Maeve have bwrother wike me!" Jacob says with a smile.

"That's right, she does! You have two older brothers and Maeve has a baby brother." Joe explains.

Before Jacob could ask about the two brothers, Jill interrupts as Joe begins to get teary eyed thinking about Beau and how excited he would have been to be a great uncle.

"Jakey, pick out which teddy bear you want to give to the baby." Jill says wanting Jacob to pick from the huge selection of stuffed animals.

"I wike dis one Mama!" Jacob points of the bear that's on the highest shelf.

"I like that one too! Let's pay for everything and then we can go on the big elevator." Jill says to Jacob.

Joe and Jill pay for all of their items and the trio plus Secret Service leave the gift show and head towards the elevators.

"We go up in da elevator!" Jacob jumps around.

"We are going up! We are going on the third floor." Jill explains to Jacob as Jacob hits the number 3 button.

"I hit da thwree!" Jacob proudly says, causing Joe and Jill to smile.

"Great job, son." Joe says, rubbing Jacob's head.

After a short ride, Joe, Jill and Jacob all get out of the elevator and walk down the hallway. The nurses are in awe that the President and First Lady of the United States is on their floor.  

"Your granddaughter's room is right down the hall, Mr. President. I am her nurse Katie. Her and baby boy are doing great! C-Section went very smoothly! Both baby and your granddaughter should be home by the weekend, maybe before!" The petite nurse says, admiring Joe and Jill.

"Thank you so so much. And thank you for taking care of them both." Joe says, shaking Katie's hand,

"Thank you very much. We really appreciate all nurses and doctors for the work you all do."

"Thank you! And thank you both for your service to this country!" Katie says proudly before she gets a quick selfie with Joe and Jill.

Joe, Jill and Jacob then turn around the corner and see Naomi's hospital room, which the door is slightly open. Naomi's Secret Service all give thumbs up, saying they can all come in.

Joe, Jacob and Jill carefully and quietly walk into the room, walking over to the bed to greet Naomi.

"Congrats, Naomi!" Jill says as she cheers happily.

"Well well well! My baby girl Naomi had a second baby! Congratulations! How are you feeling, sweetheart?" Joe asks Naomi, giving her a kiss on the cheek before placing the bouquet of balloons next to her.

"I am feeling literally so much better, Pop. I think I've lost fifty pounds of fluid alone. I'm still numb right now so I'm feeling really good. I'm sure later in the day I'll be in pain." Naomi says to Joe before Jill walks over to Naomi and hugs her.

"Well, when that happens you tell the doctor and take the medicine they give you. And don't not take it. Take it, it will help you heal." Jill says to Naomi and she nods.

"Nomi! Nomi!" Jacob says, running over to Naomi and giving her a hug.

"Gentle, Jakey." Jill says to Jacob, making sure he's gentle.

"Hi, Jakey! Hi, bub! I missed you! And he's fine, Nana. Trust me, he's a lot more gentle than the other kids." Naomi says, giving Jacob lots of kisses.

"I miss you! Nomi! I kiss your boo boo!" Jacob says causing, Naomi to panic because she is not letting Jacob near her incision at all.

"Um, no let's not do that, bub. How about you kiss my hand instead!" Naomi says, allowing Jacob to kiss the hand that has an IV in it.

"Where's Peter and the baby?" Jill asks Naomi.

"Doing a blood sugar test and his footprints. They forgot to do the footprints in the operating room for some reason." Naomi says as Jacob hugs her again.

"Blood sugar test! Is everything okay?" Jill asks, worrying right away about the baby's health.

"Everything is fine with baby, Nana. He is just a big baby." Naomi chuckles.

"Well, the doctors said your whole pregnancy he was a big baby. How much did he weigh?" Joe asks Naomi curiously.

"Ten pounds, four ounces." Naomi proudly says.

"HOLY MOLY! TEN POUNDS?" Joe says in shock with his mouth wide open.

"Yes! Ten pounds! Aren't you glad the doctors did a c-section because I sure am!" Naomi says with a big grin.

"He is nearly four pounds bigger than Maeve was and double the size Jacob was! Well, looks like newborn clothes aren't going to fit him then! Or newborn diapers!" Jill chuckles and so does Naomi.

"I know! Maeve swam in her newborn clothes for nearly a month after she was born! Thankfully, we bought other sizes for baby boy!" Naomi says.

"How did Maeve do with him?" Jill asks happily, sitting on the bed.

"She did absolutely amazing, Nana! She was so excited and she gave him lots of kisses. Zoe on the other hand, wasn't too happy. I guess because Dad was holding a baby and not her." Naomi says proudly about Maeve.

"Well, she is Hunter's baby after all." Joe says as Jill nods in agreement.

Just then, Peter pushes William who is in the wheeled crib back into the room with a proud smile on his face.

"DA BABY AND PEEEEETER!" Jacob yells with excitement as he hugs Peter's leg and Peter rubs his back.

"Hi, Jacob! Hello, Joe and Jill! Meet your great grandson!" Peter says and Naomi stops him before he says the name.

"I haven't said his name yet. I wanted to do it together." Naomi says as Peter smiles.

"Hello, Peter! Congratulations, man! You didn't pass out, did ya? Don't be like me and nearly faint during a birth." Joe says, causing everyone to laugh.

"I didn't!" Peter says with two big thumbs up.

"And I am so proud of him for that!" Naomi says as she claps her hands.

"That's good! Yeah, Joe had ALL of the attention when Ashley was being born because he nearly fainted. And congratulations! We are so excited for you and Naomi!" Jill says with a chuckle before hugging Peter.

"Thank you, both! Baby boy's blood sugar is just fine! They were worried because he was huge and sometimes huge babies have sugar issues." Peter says as he shrugs and Naomi smiles proudly st her husband.

"Ten pounds! That's gotta be a Biden family record." Joe says with a big grin.

"Joe and Jill, sit down so you can each hold your new great grandson." Peter says as he picks up baby William from the wheeled crib, holding him close.

Joe and Jill both sit in the bench that is right across from Naomi's right side.

"Who wants to hold him first?" Peter asks Jill and Joe and the couple looks at each other, unsure who should hold the baby first.

"Let Joe hold him first. This is a historic moment after all." Jill says as Jacob walks over to her.

"Jacob, sit on Mama's lap so you can see the baby too." Joe says as Jacob carefully climbs onto Jill's lap.

"Yeah, Pop. You are so old that you are a great grandpa in office now." Naomi says causing, everyone to laugh.

Once Jill, Jacob and Joe are settled and ready, Peter slowly walks over to William.

"Nana and Pop, meet your great grandson, William Brannon Neal, the fourth. Named after Peter's late older brother, Willie." Naomi proudly announces as Peter puts William in Joe's arms.

"Brandon? Like let's go Brandon? I surely hope not." Joe says as Naomi and Peter both laugh loudly with Jacob joining in.

"No, Pop. Brannon. B-R-A-N-N-O-N." Naomi explains with Peter still laughing.

"Ah ahh I see!" Joe says, understanding the name now and smiles.

"Oh, that is such a beautiful tribute to Willie. I love that name! Maeve and William. Such a cute sibling set!" Jill's face lights up and smiles knowing she is a great grandma to two now.

"I agree!" Naomi says with a grin as she takes pictures of Jill, Jacob and Joe.

"He looks just like a Biden, doesn't he?" Joe says to Jill, looking up at her.

"He sure does! What do you think, Jakey? You can touch him. Be gentle." Jill says as Jacob touches William's blanket, near his stomach.

"Da baby! Da baby! Hi, baby!" Jacob says a little loudly, causing Naomi and Peter to laugh.

"His name is William! Can you say William?" Joe says to Jacob and Jacob tries to figure it out.

"Will wam!" Jacob does his best to say the babies name.

"Almost! We can work on it." Jill says as Joe nods in agreement.

"Maeve calls him baby right now too." Peter says as he looks at his lock screen of Maeve, Naomi and William all together.

"Aw, that's so precious!" Jill says with her heart melting at the thought of Maeve and William together.

"Mama! Daddy! Wook! He got hair!" Jacob says taking William's hat off of his head.

"Oh my goodness, look at all of that hair! Dark brown hair too." Jill says as she rubs William's head softly.

"It's wet!" Jacob says with a giggle.

"Yeah, babies are born wet." Joe says with a chuckle.

"Why?" Jacob asks, being like every toddler that asks why about every little thing.

"Pop, you should have never said that." Naomi face palms while Peter cracks up laughing.

"You will learn soon enough, son." Joe says and Jacob thankfully stops asking questions.

After Joe holds William for a few minutes he hands her to Jill. Jacob is out of Jill's lap and is now sitting on the hospital bed with Naomi and Peter.

"Nomi! I see Jimmy to morrow!" Jacob says excitedly.

"Who, bub?" Naomi says, looking at Jacob's shirt that Maisy got for him and smiles at it.

"Jimmy!" Jacob says again and Naomi is still confused.

"President Carter, babe." Peter says, wrapping his arm around Naomi.

"Oh oh. I forgot he died." Naomi says before realizing she shouldn't have said the word died.

"Oh my gosh, babe. What if William is President Carter reincarnated?" Peter says thinking about this impossible scenario.

"Peter, please." Naomi says getting annoyed rolling her eyes.

"What! It could be!" Peter says as Jacob giggles.

"Mama! Daddy! What those pictures? They funny wooking!" Jacob says pointing at the pictures behind Jill and Joe.

Jill and Joe both turn around and see the many pictures of female anatomy and birth.

"These are pictures of the female reproductive organs. You will learn about those later." Jill explaining Jacob.

"Why? I learn now!" Jacob says Jill and Jill struggles with an answer.

"Because you are three." Joe says, smiling at Jacob.

Naomi, Peter and Jill all laugh at Jacob's curiosity and Joe's comment.

Joe, Jill and Jacob spend an hour with Naomi, Peter and William before they leave along with Hunter, Melissa, Beau, Joey and Zoe back to Washington! :)
