Jotaro x Kakyoin
A/N Aye everyone sorry I haven't been updating anything on wattpad for a while was kinda going through a major rough patch and couldn't write anything. But recently I've felt like I'm able to write again so I'll hopefully be able to update stuff more often. Anyways enjoy this little short story I wrote for my English class this year. (I apologize in advance for this one.)
Rain streaked down the transparent window in irregular patterns. The auburn colored male traced the trails with his eyes. All the sounds of the classroom drowned out as he focused on the water droplets.
Drip drop, drip drop.
He wasn't quite sure why he was looking out the window; only that it seemed to be a better option than to just stare blankly at the wall. Rain had always seemed rather calming to him so maybe it could help out his distorted mind. His mind was going in turmoil just over one man. He never thought that one man could hold such power over him. It felt as though he was going through a tornado, swirling about from one emotion to the next. It was like he was the wave in typhoon.
Like Kakyoin had somehow called him there with his thoughts: he appeared. A blurred figure walking towards the main entrance, no doubt late because of running into trouble. Even as he was getting drenched by the rain he moved gracefully, not shivering the slightest. Kakyoin could feel his heart disappearing for a sliver of a moment.
"Mr. Noriaki." Kakyoin jumped in his seat at the sudden voice. He looked towards the front of the class to see the teacher glaring down at him.
"If you could ever be so kind to rejoin the class and to read from the third paragraph on page 398."
Kakyoin bowed his head. "Yes sir." He felt a gaze at his side and looked towards his friend Polneraff who mouthed, 'are you okay?'. Kakyoin let out a weak smile and softly nodded his head before getting up to read from the page. Though one thing couldn't get off his mind. He could have sworn as soon as Jotaro showed up a sliver of sunlight appeared.
Jotaro groaned as he got into his seat. His coat sloshing as he sat down, grimacing at the sound he narrowed his eyes.
"Hey Jojo!" He heard his nickname and sighed waiting for the ambush from the Frenchman.
"Can you be any louder Polneraff." Jotaro sighed,
"Huehue sorry about that forgot how sensitive you are." Polneraff smiled as he turned the seat in front of Jotaro around so he could sit in it facing him.
"Get to the point why are you here?"
"What I can't just come to see my dearest friend in the morning?" Polneraff pouted.
Jotaro glared at him making him stop. "Okay, okay you got me there is a point to this little business." He paused not quite sure on how he can address the issue at hand.
"What happened between you and Kakyoin?" Polneraff could see Jotaro tense up at his question. Jotaro hid behind his hat making his eyes covered so no emotion would leak from him.
Polneraff sat there for a while waiting for Jotaro to say something, even if it was one word, but nothing came out. He let out a deep sigh and got up. "Fine you don't have to tell me, but you should know how big of a mistake you're making. That man has a heart of gold you'd be a fool to mess that up."
When Polneraff left the classroom is when Jotaro finally slouched his shoulders. He knew what he was doing wasn't good to Kakyoin, but if he allowed him to get closer to him...no he couldn't think of that. It pained Jotaro to be away from Kakyoin, but if he found out about Kakyoin it wouldn't end well.
Jotaro let out a sigh and look out the window, seeing the dark clouds start to form again. He could almost faintly smell the cherry conditioner that Kakyoin always used for his hair, he could almost feel his hand stroking through the soft curl of his bangs, he could almost see the soft grin and adoring look in Kakyoin's eyes as he looked at him.
"Goddamnit."
The rain was still pouring as Kakyoin finally went home. It was already dark outside due to his extracurricular activities running a bit late and Polneraff's antics. Kakyoin smiled thinking back to Polneraff, he was always doing his best to make Kakyoin smile, especially with everything going on. Kakyoin wasn't sure why it all started. Maybe he scared Jotaro off? He knew that he wasn't the type that liked people to get too close to him. But he thought he was different? He could have sworn Jotaro looked at him differently than he did everyone else. What if he just didn't like him anymore? Kakyoin paused in his tracks, his grip on his umbrella turned his knuckles almost white.
He had been alone all his life, no one ever got close to him as a kid, until Jotaro. Jotaro had saved him from an inescapable doom; himself. Jotaro introduced him to his family and they welcomed Kakyoin into their arms, through him he also met Polneraff and their other friend Avdol.
Kakyoin felt tears starting to form. Could Jotaro really have tossed all the memories they had together just as simple as lighting his cigarette?
While Kakyoin was thinking about everything happening in his life, he failed to realize the shadow lurking around the corner.
Thunder sounded as Jotaro finally left the school. He thought it was strange how gloomy it had been since he started distancing himself from Kakyoin. It seemed as though everything was gloomier without him, but could he really risk putting Kakyoin's life in danger just so he could hold him again?
Jotaro shook his head, he was much too selfish for Kakyoin. Hell he was sure Kakyoin hated him by now.
Then he saw it.
Kakyoin's umbrella laying on the ground.
Jotaro furrowed his eyebrows as he pick it up from the ground. It was still open, but Kakyoin was nowhere in sight. He felt a pang of terror run through his heart.
"Kakyoin?!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.
Please God don't let it be the scenario I think it is, he thought to himself as he took off running.
Soon he found the trace of blood that lead into the alleyway. Where he saw a slumped over body.
"Kakyoin!" He dropped the umbrella and rushed to his side.
Kakyoin slowly looked up to see Jotaro's wide eyes.
"Jo-" Kakyoin coughed up some blood. Jotaro moved to place Kakyoin's back against his chest and hushed him. "Try not to speak too much just give me a moment to call Gramps he'll know what to do." Jotaro opened up his flip phone and tried to type in the number for his grandfather, but his hands kept shaking making him mess up a couple of times.
"Jotaro." He heard Kakyoin's voice making him stop in his tracks instantly. He looked down at his bloodied, yet still picturesque face. "I think it's too late, so don't waste your time."
"Don't you dare say that." Jotaro grimaced.
"I'm sorry Jojo." Kakyoin let out a small smile.
Jotaro's lip started to quiver. "Y-you...you idiot you have nothing to be sorry for. It was all because of me."
"I know and if I knew this was going to happen when I met you, I still would have done the same thing." Jotaro couldn't believe his ears. "You lightened up my life Jotaro you made me feel whole. I could never regret loving you."
"Kakyoin..." Jotaro didn't know what to say, but his tears were already falling.
"Thank you for loving me." Kakyoin's eyes closed at the final statement and his face was left with a smile on it.
"Kakyoin dammit why couldn't you have waited for me to say it back. I love you too you idiot." Jotaro sobbed as he held on tightly to his body.
The hole in Kakyoin's chest was the cause of his death.
