Joseph Joestar x Reader: Right Here Waiting For You

Yes, I did this while listening to Richard Marx's Right Here Waiting song.

This is Part 2 Joseph Joestar, Not Part 3. I like him either way, just not romantically the Part 3 version.

[Y/C]= Your Country
[Y/HT]= Your Home Town (if you live in America)
..............................................................

Can't believe he looks like Tom Cruise. That just makes him more adventurous.
..............................................................

Second POV

Joseph Joestar, the 18 year old that defeated Kars. The man that defeated the Pillar Men with Lisa Lisa and Caesar, still thinks of you as a side character.

You were there for him at the darkest of times, even when he was flirting with Suzi Q, which really wasn't dark. You were there to help defeat Kars until they were in the sky by the erupting volcano. You were there for everything...and yet...he never knew that you loved him so much. He never said thank you to you for anything you did, he just saw you as some helpless ghost that was somehow lucky enough to go along for the ride.

You even had Hamon, which is how you helped. Your Hamon was strong then stronger when you trained with Lisa Lisa. You almost got killed by Wamuu with Caesar but he pushed you out of the way of harm and let himself get killed instead of you. Even Caesar told you thank you and was nice to you, even though he flirted with you and almost kissed you when you two first met.

You always wished for a happy ending, where you got the guy, you married him, maybe even started a family...but instead of that being your happy ending...it was the total opposite...

Joseph's Dead, Caesar's Dead, And everyone that he knew so closely went to his funeral. Except you. You went back to [Y/C] (or) [Y/HT], not wanting to have to deal with being a ghost to him again.

This is in Joseph's POV.

I show up in New York a little bit early, looking at Suzi Q as she grabs her umbrella. I already have our bags beside us, just waiting for someone to pick us up.

"Joseph?"
"Hm?" I turn to look at her.
"Isn't that [Y/N]?" She points at someone but I can't see her clearly so I just shrug.
"If you think so."

A few minutes later, I sigh and look at my watch.
"Where are they?"

Then some random stranger comes up to us. I don't even know who she is. But she has [Y/H/L], [Y/H/C] hair, a long [Y/F/C] coat with denim jeans and [Y/F/C] shoes. She looks at us with this depressed face but also with surprise in her [Y/E/C] eyes.

"What are you two looking for?"
"My friends to pick us up. They should be here by now..."
Suzi Q looks at her with a sort of guilt, which makes me suspicious a bit. "Suzi..."
"Y-Yes,Dear?"
"Are you hiding something?"
"N-Nothing at all! Really!"

"Your friends are at a funeral, Joseph. Here in New York."
How in the hell does she know my name? And how does she know my friends? I guess I know her somehow...

"Well, Thank you, [Y/N]."

[Y/N]? [Y/N]...Dammit I know her from somewhere...

"Dear? What are you doing?"
Suzi Q looks at me weirdly. I look back at her and then at-Wait...she's gone?

"Where's [Y/N]?"
"She said she's going to miss her flight but she didn't tell me where she's going..."
"Let's just get out of this messy place. I'll get a car."

-Time Skip-

We arrived at the place where the funeral is, thanks to the woman named [Y/N]. I hear the man that looks like the priest do the funeral things so I decided, "Let's crash this baby."

I get out of the car and shut the car door. Then when Smokey is talking to the gravestone, I sneakily go up and see Granny Erina on her chair. I sneak up to her and put my hands on her eyes.

I chuckle and smile, "Gueesss who?"
I hear Lisa Lisa and Erina gasp, making me chuckle more.

"I got word that you guys were at a funeral so I decided to crash it. From a woman named [Y/N]."

Lisa Lisa looks at me with a sad face.

"[Y/N] has decided to go back home...she told us by telegram..."
She pulls out an envelope that looks like the telegram and opens it, pulling out two pieces of paper.

She reads it off:
"Dear Lisa Lisa and Friends,
I can't do this anymore. I've dealt with too much bloodshed, too much pain. Especially with Joseph and Caesar dead, I'm going back home. I can't bear to go to the funeral. Joseph only saw me as a ghost, so I doubt that he cares that I go to his grave to give my speech. But,maybe one of you can do it for me.

I know I'm running away from the man I once loved but he has a better life now, one without me. But it's okay if you just want to put this letter on the grave instead of keeping it in your hands.

Here. The speech."

They look at me with a sad expression as I grab the telegram from her hands and read it myself.

"Here. The speech.

Joseph Joestar, born on September 27, 1920, died a few months ago while I was watching with my own eyes. During those months, I couldn't help but cry...and cry...then one day...I stopped, knowing it's useless. You never noticed me at all, you never took the time to know me, I was there like a ghost to you while everyone else knew I existed.

My heart was beating fast everytime I was near you, everytime you talked, you looked at me, but I knew it wasn't to me.

Joseph, I love you. I...I love you so much, I wish I was dead instead of you. I wish I was dead instead of Caesar, I wish you took one moment to look at me, into my eyes...but it's too late...

I'm going to be leaving soon but you don't care anyways so why am I even writing this in the first place?

Joseph Joestar, if you are alive right now, just say it. Just tell me that you hate me, in front of your own grave, tell it everything that you got to say about me.

Joseph Joestar, I love you.

Love, [Y/N] [Y/L/N]"

I grip the telegram and look at my gravestone, feeling a tear go down my face.

"[Y/N]...I'm such an asshole...to you...I could never forgive myself for everything I've done to you. You were the girl I saw at the airport and instead I thought you were some random stranger. But I do know you, I've heard your conversations with Caesar, with Lisa Lisa, with Speedwagon...and you always cried every time you spoke my name...every time you said you loved me...Sorry, Suzi Q. Sorry,[Y/N]."

-Time Skip again-

As I lay down on my bed, In our home that we bought, I put my arms behind my head and look up at the ceiling.

"Joseph Joestar, I love you. Joseph, I love you. I wish I was dead instead of you. I wish I was dead instead of Caesar. You never noticed me at all. You never took the time to get to know me....Joseph Joestar, I love you."

The last line,it echoes through my head. She loved me...all this time...I never even noticed...

No. I do remember.

Her laughter, her smile, her tears that ran down her cheeks, the way that she grew focused, her Hamon...they were real. They were all real.

[Y/N]...I love you too...
..............................................................

The 1950s

I stayed in America, close to the airport where we met all those years ago, waiting for her. Suzi Q has been crying each time I say her name then one day, I finally did it.

I divorced Suzi Q...because I stayed in love with [Y/N]...

Now I'm living alone and Suzi Q has moved out of the huge penthouse, taking all that we shared together with her.

I get a call today from her, saying that [Y/N] called her asking to see me. Now, I'm just waiting for her to call me.

Back to Second POV

You're in your small house that you've lived in for almost 20 years, having moved in during the time you came back from Italy.

The telephone is beside the bed and you're sitting on your bed, your hands shaking out of nervousness.

"What if I call and he doesn't call back? What if he doesn't like me at all?"
So many thoughts of fear roam through your mind as your heart beats louder.

Then, the phone rings and you flinch. You quickly answer it, growing scared that instead of saying hello, it's silence.

Just silence. But only for a moment.

"[Y/N]." You Hear his voice through the phone, which only makes your heart beat against your chest.

"J-Joseph. H-Hi." You stutter, combing your hand through your hair.

"H-How are you?"
"Good. How about you?"
"Doing well. It's been a few years. I just can't believe you're alive."
"I couldn't die...i wouldn't die without you dying with me."

This makes your heart skip a beat and you feel it too.
"H-He wouldn't die without me?"

"What about Suzi Q?"
"We're done. I divorced her."
"What?!"
"I just couldn't stay married to her. Not while I'm in love with someone else."
"O-Oh."

The next words that he says is something that makes you want to hug him so tightly like a teddy bear.

"I'm in love with you,[Y/N]."

You suddenly smile as bright as you can, thinking for a moment and then you talk again.

"Joseph?"
"Yes?"
"I'm going to New York. To see you."
"What?"

You hang up and quickly get dressed into something and pack your bags. You quickly go to your car and put your bags in the back and make sure that everything in the house is organized and all the lights are turned off before you shut the door and lock it. You quickly get into the car and drive to the airport, smiling crazily and also blushing too.

You get to the airport and grab your bags and quickly buy your ticket to get to New York.

-One day later or a few hours later-

You get off the airplane and quickly go out of the terminal part. You look around the airport, trying to find Joseph as he said he would be waiting for you in the airport on the day you arrive. A few minutes ago, you told him that you'll be landing soon and he said he'll be there.

You go over to the place where all the luggage is and start to grab the luggage that's yours once it's approved for you to take.

Once you grab your last bag, you hear a low chuckle which makes you turn around. You gasp and see Joseph smiling brightly at you.

"Welcome home,[Y/N]."

You rush over to him and he rushes over to you, hugging you tightly and you hug him back.

"I missed you so much."
"So did I. I was starting to go crazy and worried, thinking your plane crashed."
"Nope. I'm fine."

You nuzzle your face into his chest, smiling sweetly.

"Don't let go of me, Joseph."
"I won't. I never will again."
You two smile the brightest smiles with the hug lasting for what seems like forever.

You pull back from the hug and grab your bags but he grabs the last bag before you can. You two hold hands as you two walk to his car which is waiting in front of the airport. He puts the bags in the trunk and he helps you inside the passengers seat. He then gets into the driver's seat and starts driving to his place.

But instead of going to his place, he takes you on a romantic date to a fancy restaurant and he reserved the balcony for the both of you to have your romantic dinner date and talk about what you two did for the last 20 years. After the dinner date, you two drive around for a bit, seeing new things that have happened here in New York.

After the romantic date has ended, he parks in the back instead of the front of the house. You smile at him, caressing his cheek.

"You haven't aged a bit."
"Neither have you. Hamon does that to us."
You giggle and he leans closer to you, making you blush.

Then...
He kisses you. Passionately and lovingly.

You blush more, closing your eyes and kissing him back, putting your hand in his hair. Then he makes the seat go back and you giggle more as he goes on top of you, kissing you deeply.

This was going to be a long night...
