One. First Trip Out
February 2026
"It's Saturday tomorrow. You know what that means?" Julie could hardly contain her excitement as she watched Judith come back from the bathroom and start getting undressed for bed.
"A lie in," Judith replied gratefully.
"No, silly. You said you'll take me to the shopping centre. The mall." Julie was almost shaking with excitement.
Judith tried to downplay Julie's exaggerated happiness. "For a test, to see how far from the house you can go. We've only been around the block so far."
"You know I'll be fine. This is going to be amazing!"
Judith loved the enthusiasm her spirit girlfriend possessed but she also knew Julie had been bound to their house since the sixties. The world had changed a lot since then and she did not want her feeling too overwhelmed by the differences of modern times. "It's going to be an experience. Why don't you come here and take your mind of it for a while."
Julie completely missed Judith's hint. In fact, she did not even notice the living woman climb into bed naked. She gave Judith an approving look then laid next to her. However, instead of responding to Judith's touch, she tucked the covers around her and said, "Not tonight, baby. You need to sleep so we can get up and go."
Judith groaned, "You're a pain sometimes," she grumbled before taking her glasses off and placing them on the side table."
Julie smirked, "Yes, and you're lazy. If I do all the things I would love to do to you right now then you would not get up until after eleven, and I'm not having that tomorrow."
"Fine," Judith let out a sarcastic sigh and rolled over to sleep. "I'd say don't stay up late but that's kinda your thing."
Julie snaked an arm around Judiths waist and cupped her boob. "Goodnight, beautiful. I love you."
Judith smiled happily. It brought her warmth knowing Julie would still like with her for most of the night despite not needing to sleep. "I love you too Jersey."
"What are you doing?" Julie asked as she crept up on Judith the next morning in bed.
"Just typing up some ideas, why?"
"Well, you're up now. Let's get going," Julie said a little too eagerly.
Judith frowned, "I'm drinking at least two cups of coffee first before I get up."
Julie replied with a sigh, "You and your caffeine addiction. What are you typing anyway?"
"Just a little project I've been working on."
"You better not be turning our relationship into a Wattpad novel. Nobody will read it."
Judith spluttered her coffee out as she glared at Julie. "How do you know what Wattpad is?"
"I've been through your apps. You fantasize a lot about some guy called Keanu Reeves."
Judith's face turned a picture of pure red. "Remind me, Jersey. Why did I teach you how to use my phone?"
"I hav no idea. I'm still not sure why you say kids are hooked on these things."
"Don't worry, babe, I'm not turning our relationship into a book. I'll do that when I need more money," Judith mused.
"Anyway, it looks like you're one coffee down. You can drink the next one downstairs. Get dressed!" Julie floated off the bed and opened Judith's underwear drawer. "These are sexy," she remarked and pulled out a matching red bra and thong to throw at Judith.
"You want me to dress sexy... For the mall?" Judith questioned.
Julie was already flicking through the outfits on hangers when she replied, "No, I want you to dress sexy for me. It's Valentine's day and I've never had a Valentine for it. I want everyone to know you're mine."
"That's a lot of wants," Judith joked as she caught the skirt and top that was thrown her way. "I hope you are going to at least grace me with a jacket, it's still cold outside." She said as she inspected the knee-length pleated skirt.
"You're so picky, J. I'm glad I don't have to dress you any other morning. Put them on and let's go."
"Can I at least wear tights?"
Julie gave Judith a flirtatious wink and seductive smile, "No, that will ruin my fun when we get back later."
"You are so devious," Judith laughed and threw back the covers to get dressed.
It took forty-five minutes and a frustrated Julie to finally get Judith in the car and the engine running.
"I can't believe I'm going to a shopping mall, every girl's dream," Julie beamed.
"You really did live a sheltered life if you think that's what we dream about," Judith replied dryly. "Put your seatbelt on."
Julie turned to face her. "Are you serious? I can't die twice."
"No, but your visible and I can get fined twice." Judith folded her arms waiting for Julie to comply.
"You know, I could go invisible," Julie replied and she did briefly. She rubbed a hand up Judith's thigh and leaned over to blow soft kisses on Judith's unsuspecting neck. "And rock you into multiple orgasms while you take me shopping and no one will ever know."
An electrifying tingle rushed through Judith and she blushed, "I think they'll know when I crash the car because you didn't leave me alone." She reluctantly removed Julie's hand from her inner thigh. "Remember the rules; if you want to be visible, we do things how they are done normally. That starts with seatbelts in the car."
Julie reappeared. "Fine, as you say, my love." She buckled herself in, "Next stop, the mall!"
Judith laughed, "I hope I don't regret this." She reversed out of the driveway and took the thirty minute drive to the city of Leicester.
The spirit gasped in awe at many of the sights. As they reached the edge of Loughborough before the M1, Julie pointed out many of the fields she played in as a child which now appeared to be warehouses and housing estates.
She asked Judith what a McDonald's was, and upon learning its purpose was annoyed that Britain did not have one in the sixties.
By the time Julie had asked what a Starbucks, B&Q and Greggs was Judith really was starting to regret the decision to show Julie the new world.
As she pulled up in the car park to the shopping centre, Judith knew she would have to begin mentally preparing herself for a barrage of questions from her alienated lover.
