It has been years since I last saw her. After she left.

Everything went down hill. My Father has died.

I am now the King of this Kingdom.

My mother is still well.

My siblings are doing great.

They've been helping me recover over her. But nothing is working.

I need to find her.

I am Elizabeth Dwyer. You might've heard of that name before.

Yes I am the Girl which broke Joel's heart.

And as I've heard he is now the King.

I'm proud of him.

I hope he has moved on.

I didn't want to end it so suddenly.

But I had no choice.

My neighbor told my parents about my doing.

And they said. If I wont stop hanging out with him.

They will punish me and abandon me.

I really didn't want to loose my family.

But as how things have gone this past year.

I wish I sticked with Joel. I miss him.

But I know he will never forgive me.

"Elizabeth!" My mom called interrupting my thoughts.

"Coming mom!" I replied. Getting up from my old wooden bed and getting out of my small dusty room. Which hasnt been repainted for 10years now.

I went downstairs and saw a man wearing very nice clothing.

He was sitting at the broken couch with my family.

I went downstairs wearing a normal shirt with an over all skirt.

The guy looked at me and I smiled as he smiled back.

I then sat down beside my mom.

"Okay. So everyone's here?" The young looking lad asks.

As well nod. He then continues.

"I would like to invite you guys to a ball in the castle." He says as my two other sisters rejoice. And my older brother smirks. My parents look at each other with an eager face. While I. Was emotionless.

"So here are your invitations." He said giving all of them one as he came to me. I didn't accept it. "Why. Don't you want to go? And see the King." He says. I do but I don't want to break his heart. So I shook my head.

"If she wont take it. Then dont give it to her!" My mom with temper issues stated, semi-shouting. I roll my eyes and stand up. I then go upstairs to my room. I can't believe my mom just said that.

It's true. I'm not the favorite. I never was. And this is what I hate. Just then I see the invitation slip through the whole of my door. The person then softly says." If you want to go. You can. There's the invitation. Take it. I'm sure my brother will be so happy to see you." He says.

Then it struck my brain. That was Johnny. Joel's brother. How Could I not Recognize?! "Johnny. Is that you?" I semi-shout going near to the door. I hear the footsteps which were once moving but now have stopped.

And then he replied. "Yes it is me. And I suggest you go to the ball." He says as I hesitatingly reply. "I'll see." He hums in reply and I can hear the footsteps walking again but now down the stairs.

This Can Be My Chance. I Can Actually Get Him Back.

I'm lying down on my bed still thinking if I should go or not. When I hear some murmurs from outside. I go closer to the door and hear them.

"Okay. So at the day of the Grand Ball. We lock Lizzie inside her room okay. So that she won't get to go there. Since all the boys chase after her and not us."
My adopted little sister. Amelia said. I roll my eyes and sigh. I can't believe her.

"No. That's the worst Idea you ever came up with! I can't believe you would do that!" I hear my other sister, Maddie, and she shouted. She's my real sister. I smile at how caring she is. I love her so much. She's the only one that understands me.

And also my older brother Ceaser. I then hear a thud and was about to go out the door when I can't twist the door knob. Dammit. She knew I was listening. I hope Maddie's okay.

I looked in my peep hole and see that Maddie was on the floor. While Amelia was staring at my people with her deep dark eyes. She looks like a monster!

I want to go to the ball. But how can I get out?!

I look around my room and see my open window. I look below and see a stack of Hay. Well this is easier than I thought it would be.

I took some of my things and some outfits I could possibly wear.

I then put them in my brown leather back pack. Which is so old.

I climb out of the window carefully and started falling.

It felt great the wind on my hair. My stomach having butterflies in it because of the excitement. I then land in a stack of hay. My hair gets messy but it was fun.

I dust everything off and hurriedly sneak away to the village.

It's now sunset and I'm so close to the village.

I've been walking for about 1hour already. I've had some breaks and stuff like that. This was one of the reasons why Connecting with Joel was hard.

The distance we have and we dont have anything to use for communication. Yes letters can do. But we want to see each other.

I walk more and finally see the friendly sign.

"Welcome to the Kingdom of Phoenix." It's as nice as ever.

I get in the gates as the guards smile and tip their hats.

"Welcome m'lady!" They both say in sync.

As friendly as usual. I smile and reply. "Thank you kind sirs."

As they nod and point inside.

I nod and start walking in.

As I pass by people some of them stare at me.

Some smile and welcome me.

It's a very nice Kingdom.

My Aunt lives here. This is where I stay for summers. Well before. When My parents didn't know my doings.

I hurriedly went to my Aunt's door and knocked.

She opened it. As she looked at me directly in the eyes. She then noticed it was me and she gasped.

Holding her hands over her mouth. She had tears coming out of her eyes. We haven't seen each other for four years. I miss her.

I but down my bag and hug her tightly. Soon she hugs back and rubs my back which makes me calm. She's the best aunt ever!

We pull away and she tells me to come in.

I came in and her house seems so different.

It's even lovelier.

She leads me to where I'm going to stay for a year or so. Since I'm never going back to my parents again.

She gives me some blankets and laves me alone so I can unpack.

I start unpacking and organizing my room.

It's pink and has hearts on the wallpaper.

It's so pretty.

The bed is a single sized and its wooden but colored white.

The room is so big.

I finished unpacking and went downstairs to find my aunt.

I looked at the Kitchen yet all I saw was a note.

I open it.

"Hey Elizabeth. I left to go to the Market. Dont worry about me. I'm just buying both of us some dinner anyways there's treats in the fridge if you want. And if you're going somewhere. Dont forget to lock the door. Btw. There's a key under the rug. That's all bye."

Okayyy. So i'm alone. Anyways. I take my coat. And actually decide to go on a walk. I locked the door and started walking with the fresh breeze on my hair.

I pass by people and smile at them. And they smile back.

What lovely people unlike those from where I used to live.

Suddenly I bumped into someone.

I was expecting a great great fall but As I open my eyes.

I see.... "J-Joel?" I ask trying not to tear up.

"Hey. I'm Joel's brother. Jeff." He replies chuckling.

I stand up quickly and blush red from embarrassment.

"Oh I'm sorry." I say looking down.

"It's okay. Plenty have exchanged us. But if you want to see him he's at the palace." I nod and thank him.

He smiles and we both say goodbye.

I walk around even more and see a shop which has so many beautiful dresses.

I walk in it and look around. One caught my eye.

It was a white gown with plenty of Jewels in the middle. It was tight on the top and very flowing at the bottom.

It was perfect for the ball. But I had no money. As I was about to walk out. The shop keeper called me.

I turned around. "Hey young lady. You seem to be familiar." She said smirking.

I noticed that she was the great friend of Joel and Mine. I smile and run to her.

I give her a big hug. "Hey Lizzie!" She said hugging me tightly.

This is Esmerald. She's our great friend and she's so amazing. I miss her so much!

"I miss you so much omg!" I say pulling away.

We talk more and more until the subject about the "ball" came up.

"So are you going to the ball?" She asked me excitedly.

"Uhmmm. I dont really know." I said truthfully.

"But It's your chance to meet King Joel Again!" She said.

King?

"King Joel?" I ask her. She nods.

"Yes. His father died and Now he's the reigning king. So if he asks you to marry him. You're going to be queen!" She said as I laughed.

"That would never happen. He probably hates me by now." I say bitterly.

"Come on! He can never hate you. I promise he understands!" She said hopefully.

"I know he's still mad at me. Besides I dont have anything to wear, if I do go." I say and she giggles.

"Well. I can help you with that! Come here at Friday night. Hours before the ball. We're going to have a make over." She said squealing.

I giggle." Fine. Okay then. Anyways. I need to go. It's getting quite late. My aunt might be finding me." I said and she nods.

"Okay bye!" She waves by as I get out of the shop and walk back to my aunt's House.

Today is the big day. I went to Esmerald's store and we both started to get ready. I wore the white gown which caught my eyes that other day. It's really fitting and nice.

I put on light make up only. My hair was and up do crown braid. And since it's a masquerade ball. We had masks on. Mine was a white one. With gems scattered all around it. And it has feathers.

I wore silver heels and I got to tell you. They're really hard to walk on.

As we finish. It was already noon. So it was time. For the ball.

We're now at the front of the gate. But as I was walking in. I heard the cackle of my Adopted sister. I look behind me to see her. Smiling evilly. With my sister Maddie beside her.

Maddie had a black evening gown. That was fitting on top but puffy on the bottom. She looks beautiful. Oh I wish I could hug her. But it would be obvious that it was me. So I continued to walk inside the large cobble castle with Esmerald.

Today is the day. I might have the chance to meet her again. I don't know. My brother said he has a surprise for me. But all that matters for me is that I see her.

The one. I've waited for year. And I shouldn't mess up now. I'm wearing a king type of attire. But without the crown and cloak or something. I walk down the stairs to see the ball room filling up quicker by the second.

Everyone looked so fancy and beautiful. But one caught my eye. She was wearing a white dress with gems on it. She had pink hair which was in a braid. She reminded me of someone. That someone special.

I want to at least get to know her. As I was walking to her. My stupid brother stopped me. "It's time to start the ball." My brother says. I roll my eyes. As I loose sight of her. Shit. I hate this dumbass so bad right now.

I walk back on top of the stairs and say my opening remarks. As I finish. My mom has a little speech so I step aside and try to find her again. Well guess what?

No luck.

My mom finished and now the whole castle is filled with music. Laughter. Enjoyment. Everyone looked so happy. Except for me. I was sitting on my throne. Beside to my younger brother.

WHO EVEN HAD A FUCKING DATE. HE WAS FLIRTING WITH A GIRL JUST THE SAME AGE AS HIM. LIKE WTF. IM SO UNLUCKY.

As I was talking to myself. Slow music played and my brother told me that I should dance. I shook my head. But he forced me. So I went to the middle. Everyone was looking at me. It was so awkward. I had a mask on.

But they knew it was me. So no use. Anyways I was looking around. When I saw her..

At the corner of my eye. I walked to her and asked her for her hand. I see her blush and smile. But she shook her head. I bet she was shy.

Even without her permission. I took her hand and brought her to the middle. I smiled and she was blushing red. We started to dance and soon other people joined in.

But I ignored them and focused on her. She then speaks up.

"Why me?" I remember that voice. I remember her. That voice is the same sweet and loving voice. Which I used to hear everyday.

That is the voice. And she is the one.

"L-Lizzie?" I say stuttering. We still are dancing slowly. But then she stops.
Did I do something bad?

"I- Uhm. I need to go." She says as she runs away.

No please don't run away. I lost you once. But I wont loose you twice. I run after her. For a girl with heels she can sure run damn fast.

I run even faster. We're now at the gate and I got to catch up to her. I held her arm making sure she can't run away.

"Turn around." I commanding as she stood still.

"Turn around please." I said and she turned around. Looking into my eyes as I did to hers.

"Take off your mask. Please?" I ask her and she listens. She takes off her mass and it is her. It's Elizabeth.

"Elizabeth?!" I say hugging her tightly. I hear soft sobs from her.

"I'm sorry." She mutters softly.

"I miss you so much." I kiss her forehead. And wipe her tears. She smiles and looks up at me.

"I'm sorry for leaving. I really am. I still love you Joel." She says truthfully.

I smile and we then share a kiss.

From that night on. Until Forever.

I knew. She was my one, and my only.

She is.
