Forty two - in which it's nothing but eat, sleep, wake (and you) (SH)
When Simon woke, the first thing he felt was imminent thirst. His throat felt like the Sahara desert as he struggled to swallow. Then, he could feel last nights remnants go around his mouth - the consumed alcohol - various shots and cocktails - and pizza. It did not taste pleasant and was certainly not comfortable. It was downright horrendous. He kept his eyes closed, trying to ignore the fact that his body was starting to wake up, his stomach twisting. Now, that could prove to be a problem.
The familiar feeling of saliva gathering in his mouth and his stomach constricting sent him reeling over the bed, landing in a loud thump. He groaned, trying to get the blanket off himself, so he could get to the bathroom, before last night spilled all over his floor. Eventually he did untangle himself, hopping up, feeling his head spin and bolted to the bathroom, shutting the door without thinking. When he was done puking his guts out, he let his head rest on the cold bathroom floor. Damn him and his hangovers. Simon had a great tolerance for alcohol - meaning he didn't get drunk as fast and could drink a lot more. This also meant that his hangovers went on for the whole day, sometimes even days, shadowhunter or not. Not even the iratzes would help in extreme cases, which was unfair in Simon's opinion - couldn't there have been a 'no hangover' rune?
Nobody probably knows why, but the bathroom floor was always the best place to be, when hungover. Something soothing about the cold tiles and the fact that the toilet was right there, in case you got sick again. That's why they said shit like 'he's probably hugging the toilet right about now'. Because, why shouldn't you hug it, when it's your best friend at times like these.
However, Simon decided he won't be sick again, not right now, at least, so he flushed and rose, dying to brush his teeth and get the foul taste out of his mouth. So he did, trying not to gag, while he brushed and then, moved back to the bedroom in a crouched manner, because evidently that made him feel slightly better. He stopped, eyes going from the blanket on the floor (that he'd left there in his hurry) to his bed, where a figure was laying. He blinked once, and then twice. Half-covered by another blanket was Jace, his chest rising and falling slowly, indicating that he was deep asleep. His blonde hair were scattered on the pillow, falling to his eyes as well, and Simon's eyes stopped at his rune-covered chest, following to his exposed hip covered by a pair of dark blue boxers and his left leg that hugged the blanket. Simon blinked again, slight panic settling in his chest. He might be sick again.
Eat, sleep, wake
Nothing but you
Eat, sleep, wake
Nothing but you
Eat, sleep, wake
He crept towards the bed, slowly lowering himself to grab the blanket, only to knock down the alarm clock on his night stand. Being a shadowhunter didn't mean he was all that graceful - he was still pretty clumsy when it came to the usual daily sort of stuff. You know, dropping forks and shattering mugs. This was one of those times when he wished he'd be more careful or at least not as clumsy. The loud bang when the alarm clock hit the floor, made Jace's eyes open, but they didn't seem alarmed in the slightest. Simon, however, felt his breath get caught when he was met with the mismatched eyes of the blonde shadowhunter. "You okay or do I need to get out of bed to save your ass from a demon or something?" Jace asked, yawning, his eyes looking towards Simon and then, Simon realized, he was also wearing only boxers. He looked down at himself and then forced a smile. "Not if an alarm clock is considered a threat. Which in my case, could be." he said, a little sarcastically, and saw Jace chuckle.
"I'm a shadowhunter, too, you know." Simo then reminded him, sitting down on the bed and trying to cover up with the blanket. He strained his brain to remember what had happened last night, but his head started to hurt, so he stopped. "A clumsy one at that. And since you're having a hangover, for sure, the demon would obliterate you faster than you could say 'Jace, help.'" the blonde said, smirking at him and now going up to his elbows. Simon felt very conscious of his body right then, when Jace's eyes were watching him with a twinkle in his eyes. They were friends, for sure, but never had they shared a bed, despite their friendship.
Jace gave him an amused look. "I didn't sleep with you, Simon, relax." Jace said and Simon felt himself blush a little. "Noted." he said and Jace laughed. "Izzy took the couch and Magnus and Alec took the spare bedroom. You just passed out so I carried you here, and since I don't really like sleeping on the floor, I figured you wouldn't panic too much, if I stayed here. Clearly, I was wrong." Jace said, now really having fun with Simon. The brunette groaned, looking up at the ceiling. "You undressed me? That's... embarrassing." he said and Jace hummed. Simon gave him a look. "I wouldn't say so. I mean, there's nothing really for you to be embarrassed about. More like to be proud of. I never knew you had such rock hard abs." Jace said and Simon groaned again, flopping on the bed, face first. "Fuck. Off." he mumbled and heard Jace laugh.
"Seriously, though. How are you feeling?" Jace asked and Simon peeked at him from the corner of his eye, blowing his hair off his face. Jace's face seemed genuenly concerned. Simon's heart totally did not do a flip at that. "Like someone ran me over with a car and then tossed me into a washing machine, after I'd had a really bad meth trip." he said and Jace's mouth quirked up. It was unfair to look this gorgeous after a night of drinking and it being this early. It was only 9, considering the alarm clock that was laying on the floor now. "Iratze's not working, huh?" Jace asked cheerily and Simon bit back at snapping at the blonde. "I want to die. And since I've died before, I know what's it's like. So, better take me seriously." Simon mumbled, going back to sulking. Jace shuffled and Simon felt the bed dip as he got up.
"Drama queen. Get up, you need coffee." Jace said and Simon peeked at him again, hoping Jace wouldn't see. Jace was putting on sweats, his back to Simon, and he could see the muscles there move in a way that made Simon's mouth water. Damn Jace and his perfect body. He'd had a crush on Jace forever, and even though he'd never do anything about it, he just figured that, hey, he was allowed to observe, right? Jace turned, looking around, for his shirt probably, and let his hand go through his hair. Simon's eyes went to the ceiling fairly quickly. "Simon. Get up." Jace said sternly and Simon groaned, when Jace grabbed at the blanket. "Leave me alone, you great big idiot. I'm having a nuclear hangover. I will smite you." Simon told him, but Jace seemed unfazed. Simon let go of the blanket, way too weak to fight back and tried to ignore the feeling of Jace's eyes on his naked back.
Then, he turned, sat up and held onto his head. "Oh, shit." he just said, feeling sick again. This got Jace's attention, the blanket slipping from his fingers. He seemed to soften a bit. "That bad, huh? Come on." Jace said and before Simon could even ask, Jace was there, his arms going around him. Simon's brain stopped working, feeling Jace lift him up, bridal style. "What in Raziel's name are you doing?" he practically squealed, when Jace moved towards the living room. "Stop being such a diva." Jace just quipped and walked towards the couch. Simon felt his arms around him and he could smell the musky scent on Jace. He tried to think of gross things, just in case his body would get any ideas.
Nothing but you
Eat, sleep, wake
Nothing but you
Isabelle was happily snoring away, when Jace got there, and placed Simon down on the couch, close to Isabelle's legs. Luckily, the couch was big enough, so Simon could sit next to the sleeping girl. Jace lowered him and Simon bit his lip, watching as the hair fell to the blonde's face, and further, tickling Simon's face when the other shadowhunter was so close he could feel his breath. Jace then stood up again, looking around. He moved the armchair in front of Simon and he looked up at Jace in surprise. Jace motioned at it and Simon tilted his head in confusion. "Oh, for fuck's sake." Jace mumbled, picking up Simon's feet and putting them on the armchair. Then, he picked up a blanket next to Izzy, who had begun to stir, and laid it on Simon. From under the blanket, Simon peered at Jace, who seemed to be in concentration with every move. Strange.
"Good morning, bitches." Isabelle stated with a tired, but cheerful voice, yawning and wringing her hands. Simon made a displeased noise and Jace smiled at him. "Turn it down, please." Simon pleaded to Jace and the blonde laughed. Isabelle got up, staring at them both. "What? Don't tell me you have one of those hangovers?" she asked and Jace nodded, when Simon slumped back on the couch. Isabelle's eyes widened in amusement as she smiled, a little sadly though. "Poor Si. You should really stop destroying bottles of vodka at a time." she said and Simon gasped. "I- did what?" he asked weakly and Isabelle laughed. There was a noise and then, Alec walked in, cheery as ever, in sweats and a black t-shirt. "Morning!" he said, chipper, and Simon sent him a look that could kill. Alec seemed very unfazed. He ruffled his hair, making Simon feel like he was 12 and he growled.
"Fuck off, Lightwood. And stop yelling." he said and Alec laughed. "Boy, am I glad I'm not you. Or Magnus for that matter." Alec said, shooing Isabelle's legs to sit next to them. Jace sat on the arm of the chair that Simon was resting his legs on and Simon couldn't help but stare at him a little longer than necessary. The difference was, that Jace's eyes went to him as well and he smiled. His smile, charming as ever, was different, sort of. It was sweet and caring. Simon tried to figure out, when had Jace changed into a genuine friend and not an annoying fucker who laughed at his hangovers. "Magnus is sick, too?" Simon asked, hopefully. Alec gave him a glare. "As much as it would make your day, no, he isn't. Just a massive head-ache." he said and Simon rolled his eyes.
"Of course, it's just me again." he said and then threw his hands up in the air, looking at the ceiling like he could see the sky. "Why, Raziel, why must thou torment me so?" he insisted and Isabelle laughed. "You're a worse drama queen than Magnus, when you're hungover." she said and Jace laughed, nearly falling off the chair. "That's what I said!" he said and Simon pouted at him. "It's adorable, though." Jace then said, a little quieter, and Simon stilled, staring at the shadowhunter. Did he hear that correctly? Before he could ask if anyone else was feeling particularly deaf today, Magnus shuffled into the room. His hair was a mess, but his face was free of last night's make-up. He had on a silky nightgown over his just as silky pj's and he stopped just shy of the couch. "You," he pointed at Alec, pouting "were not supposed to leave." he finished.
Alec got up, quickly sliding his arm around Magnus and kissing his cheek, making the pout disappear almost instantly. "Fine. But I still want my cuddles." Magnus said, staring up at Alec lovingly. "You'll get as much of those as you want back at home." Alec promised and Simon tried to suppress his smile. He'd always thought the two were the cutest couple ever and tried not to fangirl out loud, like Izzy did. "Aww, stop it, that's so rude." Isabelle said then, eyeing them with just as much love. Jace rolled his eyes, getting up. "I'm making coffee." he stated and moved to the kitchen. "Put a shirt on, while you're at it." Alec said and Jace turned, only to wiggle his eyebrows. "Ya'll love it when I'm half-naked." he said and Isabelle scoffed. "Half of us are your family and one of us is in a relationship with the other." she said, clearly displeased. Jace gave Simon a wink and the brunette felt his breathing stall in his lungs once more.
"Simon loves it, right, Simon?" he asked and Simon felt his cheeks burn up again. He pulled the blanket over his head. "Can everyone just go away?" he asked, hopeful, but Isabelle pushed her blanket off and smirked. She was in her t-shirt and shorts. "We will, but not before coffee, though." she said and so, they all settled on the couch, Magnus crawling onto Alec's lap, his head resting on the taller one's chest and Jace took the armchair. Only, he casually moved Simon's legs, sat down and then put Simon's legs back onto his lap. Simon was so busy trying to figure out the math there, that he didn't hear Isabelle talking about all the embarrassing shit they did last night. Since when was Jace so... familiar with him?
"And then, I think I punched that Seelie dude." Isabelle said and Magnus laughed. "Isabelle." Alec shook his head, but he was smirking, too. "He was hitting on you! And you were so drunk you didn't get it and then he wanted to grab your ass and Magnus was somewhere throwing confetti at a bunch of vampires, so it was really the only option." she said, clearly pleased with the result. Simon sipped his coffee, feeling Jace's hands on top of his ankles even through the blanket. His heart was beating loud, his brain a mush. Jace was holding his legs in his lap. What in the world was going on?
"But I have to say, Simon topped us all." Isabelle concluded and Simon's head whipped towards her. "What? What did I do?" he asked, now panicked and Isabelle gave him a sly smirk. Magnus and Alec both had that look on their faces. The look of 'we know everything', and Simon didn't like it. To his surprise, Jace set down his coffee cup and sent Isabelle a look. Simon didn't understand the look, but Isabelle's smile dropped a little and Simon was sure that he saw Jace shaking his head just a little. "Oh, nothing much. Just danced on top of a bar and shouted the tune to starwars, pretending you have a lightsaber in your hand. You tried to chop off a head on a vampire. They weren't amused, so we had to get out of there." Isabelle said, her face going back to cheerful.
Simon groaned, hiding his face in his hands and he felt his stomach growl. He was hungry, but still feeling so sick. Jace was watching him and Simon saw that concern in his eyes again. "Alright, everyone out. I have to nurse this one back to life. You have training tomorrow, remember?" Jace reminded him and indeed, it was Sunday, which meant it was Monday tomorrow. Which meant practice with Jace. Still, his heart did a flip when he realized Jace was staying here. To take care of him.
It's so cold in the air
Put the bud in my ear
First note start
I can see where you are
Dream where you are
When Alec got up to take water from the fridge, Magnus went with him, sitting on the stool and pointing to the bottle inside. "Pass me that bottle, will you?" he asked and Alec stared at the cider in the fridge. "You're going to drink... this early in the morning?" Alec asked, incredulous. Magnus narrowed his eyes. "I thought I said 'Pass the bottle', not 'Pass the judgement'." Magnus snapped and Simon couldn't help but laugh from his position on the couch, Jace and Isabelle joining him. Alec's mouth went into a tight line and he passed the bottle. "It helps with the hangover. Why do you think people binge-drink? I'm just taking a few sips, the rest is for Simon." Magnus said, opening the thing and Simon gagged. Jace gave him a look. "It might help." Jace said, and Magnus came over to pass it to him.
Simon held his breath, drinking a few sips. "Ugh." he just said, handing the bottle back. Magnus laughed. "Teenagers. They never know how to drink." he said, clapping his hands and changing into a colorful shirt and leather pants. "Home?" he asked Alec hopefully and Alec smiled fondly. "Home." he replied and Isabelle got up. "Might as well portal me to the Institute." she said getting up and stretching, a patch of her skin visible under the shirt. "I got a text from Clary anyways, she wants to train." Isabelle said, smiling as she spoke of her parabatai. The same look Alec wore when he spoke about Jace or vice versa. "Alright. See you back there." Jace said, nodding to her and Magnus snapped his fingers. They disappeared, Isabelle giving Simon and Jace one last look - it was like she was trying to tell them something, her smile knowing. Simon just closed his eyes, snuggling into the blanket.
"I'll make you some soup. Also, you need to shower." Jace said and Simon just huffed a breath. "No, thank you." he said and heard Jace chuckle. He opened one eye. "It was not a request." Jace said, smiling at him and Simon opened both eyes. He made his pouty face again and Jace raised his finger. "None of that. You smell, Simon, get into the shower. I'll make soup and then we can switch." Jace said, removing Simon's legs from his lap, heading to the kitchen. Simon got up and flipped him off, even though Jace had his back to him. He almost stumbled over the carpet when Jace said "I saw that" and he felt the flush return to his cheeks.
Overall, the shower had indeed been a good idea. When he got out and found his sweats and a t-shirt, he could smell the soup from the bedroom. It smelled like tomato. He entered the living room, where Jace was placing soup into a bowl, his chest still bare as it was before. Simon eyed him, letting himself enjoy the view, until Jace caught him and Simon coughed. "Tomato soup?" he asked and Jace nodded, positively beaming at him. Simon was yet to determine what in the heck was going on here. Also, his legs felt weak so he just quickly sat on the couch again. "Here. Eat, I'll be right back." Jace said and turned, stalking to the bathroom. Simon watching him go and then exhaled, when he was gone. Jace didn't usually act like this around him. Taking care of him, talking without sarcasm and jokes. It was weird and something was definitely going on.
Nevertheless, he gave the soup a chance. He was glad he did, it was divine. When Jace returned, he'd already finished, playing with the remote and watching 'Breaking bad'. Jace had a shirt on now, a white and very tight one, Simon could see the muscles and runes gleam through. It was annoying in the least.
Jace plopped down next to him and Simon eyed him. "You're not going to eat?" he asked and Jace shook his head. "I already did, when you were in the shower. How are you feeling?" he asked and once again, Simon was taken by surprise. Jace was eyeing him with care and Simon squinted his eyes at him. "Is this like a prank or something? You pretend to help me with my hangover and then you- I don't know, tell the whole institute how I'm a whiny baby when I'm hungover?" he asked finally and Jace gave him a weird look. It was almost like hurt. "What? No, I'd never do that." he said with such sincerity, that Simon was taken aback. "Though you are a whiny baby." Jace continued, clearly aware of the surprise on Simon's face.
The brunette shifted under his blanket, when Jace suddenly patted it. "Are you going to hog that or am I allowed to shield myself from the cold?" he asked and Simon stilled, staring at him. And, even though it wasn't all that cold in the apartment, and the blanket that Isabelle had used lay just a few inches from Jace, he raised the edge of the blanket and let Jace draw it over his lap. They both sat in silence, legs underneath them and watching TV. Then, Simon felt his head-ache grow stronger. "Fuck, it's like the bells on Notre Dame in my head." he said finally and Jace laughed, turning to him. Simon realized, then, that they were sitting very close. He could feel Jace's thigh pressed against his. "Want a painkiller?" he asked, but before Simon could respond, Jace was already up and back in a second, with a pill and a glass of water. Something was definitely up.
Will the song never end?
Us on the bed
Half a meter apart
Awkward hearts beating faster and faster
Faster and faster
Simon swallowed the pill and then, he felt his head spin a little. "I think you need sleep." Jace concluded, probably seeing his pale complexion. "You might be right." Simon agreed and Jace smiled. "Well, can the princess walk or does he need carrying again?" Jace asked and Simon gaped at him. "I'm-" he started but then shut his mouth. Then, he tried again. "If you're offering, I'm not refusing." he said jokingly. Turns out, Jace was, however, not joking. He scooped him up, again and Simon made a startled noise. "You're lighter than one would think." Jace said matter-of-factly and Simon rolled his eyes. "Thanks, that's what every girl wants to hear." he said sarcastically and Jace laughed, bringing him to the bedroom and setting him down. Simon saw that Jace had made the bed. He knew that Jace didn't stand chaos of any kind and had a complex to keep everything neat. Still, he was mildly surprised.
He was really surprised, when Jace lay next to him, on his side and turned towards him, while Simon was on his back. "You don't have to watch me, you know. Perfectly fine falling asleep on my own." Simon said and Jace furrowed his eyebrows a little. "If you want me to go, I can." Jace said, slowly getting up but Simon grabbed his hand. "No!" he said and realized it sounded panicky. He let go of Jace's hand and the blonde gave him a raised eyebrow. "I mean, I was just- I don't need you to stay just because you think you need to watch over me." Simon exhaled, pinching the bridge of his nose. He felt Jace settle down again. "I'm staying because I want to." Jace said then and Simon peeked at him from the corner of his eyes. That's it.
"What the hell is going on? You're never this nice to me. I mean, we're friends, but this? This is like... best friend shit. And I know we're not there. So, why are you fussing over me? It's creeping me out, sort of." Simon finally spluttered out. He heard Jace sigh and held his breath. Maybe he had pissed the blonde off. He spared a hesitant glance at Jace and saw that he had turned to his back, staring at the ceiling in exasperation.
"You said some things last night. And I don't know if they were true. But it surprised me, and at the same time, it didn't, 'cause I think I knew for some time now, or rather hoped." Jace said and Simon eyed him now. Oh, no. What did he say? "Do I... wanna know?" Simon asked, scared and to his surprise, Jace chuckled. "I mean, I'll tell you, if you want to know. It's just-" Jace turned to him now, eyes soft. "I don't want you to think that we won't be friends after this. You're still one of my best friends, and that won't change." Jace said and now, Simon groaned. "You're scaring me." he said truthfully, but Jace smiled. "No need." he said and then, he exhaled, as if he was about to tell a long story.
"You got wasted. And then, there was a point where we were taking a cab and you came up to me, but you stumbled, so I caught you. You were acting really weird and funny, but then you looked up to me and said 'Did you know I've always had this huge crush on you' and then just laughed. Isabelle, Alec and Magnus were also right there, thought I hoped they were too drunk to remember. Clearly I was wrong." Jace said, very conversationally, but Simon felt shame taking over him. This might've been his worst fuck up yet.
"But, it's not like I didn't want them to hear because I was embarrassed. I didn't want them to hear because I knew you'd never say that sober and in front of them. So, when Isabelle wanted to bring it up, I just indicated for her to stay quiet." he continued and Simon sunk back onto the pillow, hands going to his eyes. "That's- I'm sorry. I'm not really- I mean, it's nothing, really." Simon said and bit his lip. He waited. Jace was silent for some time, so Simon removed his hands, to find Jace staring at the ceiling with sad eyes. "Are you sure about that?" he asked and something clicked. Simon stared at the boy. Was Jace worried... that it hadn't been true? "I mean, I know you don't like me. Like that. As far as I know, you're straight, so there's that. Also, you don't have to feel weird about it. I mean, it's true, that I have this crush, but it's just a crush. I never thought anything would happen, so you don't have to be embarrassed. I can do that for the both of us." Simon rambled in a quick fashion, hoping to get everything out as fast as possible.
Jace shifted and turned to him, resting his head on his hands as he took a sideways position. "Simon." Jace said, a bit stern and a bit hopeful. Simon turned, too and stared at Jace's eyes. The brown speck in them was almost like an island in the middle of the bluest ocean. "Wait." Simon said, scrunching his face in concentration. "You said earlier, that you- that you knew for some time now... or, hoped-" Simon trailed off, as Jace's eyes widened a bit, and to Simon's shock, a blush made it's way to Jace's cheeks. "Yeah." was all he said and Simon bit his lip.
"You like me? As in, you like me back?" Simon asked and Jace huffed a laugh, nose scrunching up adorably. "We're not 12, Simon. But yes. I think so. I mean, I don't know because as you said, I've only ever been with girls. But there's something about you, I just can't quite figure it out. But I thought it was just... I don't know, this passing feeling. But when you told me you had a crush on me, I felt sort of- giddy. It was weird, but in a good way." Jace said and Simon raised an eyebrow. "And how does that not sound like a 12 year old?" he asked, teasing and Jace slapped his arm. "Fuck off." he said and Simon smiled. His heart was beating so fast he thought it might jump out of his chest.
Jace was so close to him, their noses were almost touching. "So, you actually like me? I thought I was annoying and told bad jokes." Simon said, smirking. He could see the runes peeking out from Jace's collar and his eyes went back up to Jace's eyes very quickly. "I still think that." Jace said and Simon made a displeased sound. "Now that's just plain rude." he retorted, but Jace laughed. Simon felt Jace's hand brush against his and, to his own surprise, Simon slid his fingers between Jace's. His skin was tingling and he held his breath, the hairs at the nape of his neck standing on end and the hangover just making everything so much more heightened. He could literally feel Jace's pulse on his wrist beat against his own skin.
We'll cut through the park
Stick to the path
I can't stick to the path
'Cause I dream about nothing but you
Jace was smiling, his face looking as angelic as ever. His eyes were watching Simon and he had never, ever seen such softness to them. He felt Jace's thumb draw circles at the back of his hand and his heart jumped. It was weird but also incredibly amazing. Jace scooted closer. "How are you feeling? You should sleep." Jace said and Simon smirked. "Look at you, all worried about me. I bet you'd never admit it, but you care about me." Simon said, smirking and Jace rolled his eyes. "Keep talking and I'll take back everything I said." the blonde retorted but Simon shook his head. "No take backs. I've memorized every word, and you know how great my memory is." Simon said, which made Jace raise an eyebrow in amusement. "Your memory is shit." he said simply and Simon huffed. "Your attitude is shit." he mumbled, but Jace caught it and laughed, and suddenly, he leaned in, stealing the last breath Simon still had.
It was very soft, the way Jace's lips went to his, but it made him smile. The kisses where both people smile, because it's partly such a giddy feeling and partly because it's funny, trying to kiss like that, they were the best in Simon's opinion. And this was their first, which made it all the more amazing. Jace's lips pecked his and he pulled back a little, still smiling. "Stop that, I can't kiss you properly." he said and Simon bit his lip. "I can't, it's just that you make me so- I don't know. Happy, I guess." he said, not intending on it to sound so serious or deep. He saw Jace's eyes widen a bit and for a moment, Simon was scared he'd said too much. Then, Jace's features softened again and he leaned in. "Good. That's all I ever want you to be." Jace said and Simon's heart stopped beating completely. If he were to die, at least he'd die with Jace Herondale's lips attached to his.
Eat, sleep, wake
Nothing but you
Eat, sleep, wake
Nothing but you
Eat, sleep, wake
He felt Jace's hand slip from his and slide behind his back, his weight shifting so he was half-way lying on top of Simon, his lips going back to kissing the brunette. Simon felt Jace's tongue slide across his lower lip and he let his in. The feeling of Jace's tongue softly touching his, exploring very carefully, was an incredible feeling. Normally, Simon was pretty sure Jace was the 'get right down to business' kind of guy, so it made him go all giddy, knowing that Jace was taking his time and leaving Simon an option to back out, should he want to take it.
He moved a little, his hands going around Jace, and pulled his completely on top of him, Jace's lips still on him, and when Simon's hand slid into the blonde strands, Jace gave a small gasp and pulled back a little. Simon chased after his lips, not content on losing the warmth just yet. Jace's eyes were looking down on him, a gleam in his eyes. "What?" Simon asked, incredulous and Jace just shook his head a little. "Nothing, it's just- different. Very different." he said, exhaling a little. Simon pulled himself upwards a little, leaving Jace to just lie on his stomach and he looked down at him. "Good different?" he asked, a little hesitant. Jace nodded immediately, his hand going to Simon's hip. He slid his fingers under the fabric of his shirt and Simon could feel the burning of his fingertips against his rune there. "A very good different." Jace said, his voice a little huskier now and Simon swallowed.
He let his hands stay around Jace, moving him upwards a bit so he could kiss him again. The more he did it, the more he wanted to continue. The kiss sent little waves of pleasure through his body, but it wasn't as if he was dying to sleep with Jace - it was just good on it's own. No rush, just kissing and exploring this new feeling. Even though, obviously, Simon's body didn't go completely without a reaction. When Jace's hands went further up his shirt and the blonde's lips found his neck, that's when Simon felt that maybe, just maybe, they should stop. Before he could even say anything, Jace deattached his lips from his skin and looked up, eyes now worrysome.
"What?" Simon asked, alarmed, and feeling like a broken record now. "You're supposed to sleep. You have a hangover." Jace said in a tone as if he was answering a question the teacher had asked him and the reply was memorized in his mind. Simon rolled his eyes. "No. I mean, yes, that's true but I don't-" he tried to think of how to phrase his request.
Nothing but you
Eat, sleep
Nothing but you, nothing but you
He sighed and let his hands play with Jace's hair, and the shadowhunter closed his eyes at the touch. "I like kissing you." Simon finally said and Jace opened his eyes, smiling wickedly. "I know, everyone does." he said and Simon groaned. "Do you enjoy being an arrogant ass?" Simon asked, pushing Jace off him in one swoop. The blonde laughed, when Simon crossed his arms and sat up. "Yes. But you knew that." Jace said, creeping closer to him. Simon eyed him from the corner of his eyes. "Don't come any closer. I don't want to catch 'dumb blonde disease'." he said and Jace pouted. He actually pouted at him. "That's pretty rude." he said, acting hurt.
Simon huffed. "You're being rude. What, did you think you could kiss me like that and then expect me to fall asleep? You're right next to me." Simon said and Jace raised an eyebrow. He came closed and straddled Simon, which made the brunette's heart beat faster again, panic settle in. "I was joking." he said, panic showing through his voice. "Relax, Simon." Jace laughed, putting his hands on Simon's shoulders to steady himself. "I'm not going to fuck you. Not yet." Jace said, his voice lowering and Simon bit his lip. "Oh." he said, sounding just a little disappointed.
Jace smirked and leaned in, his lips grazing Simon's ear when he spoke. "Unless you want me to." he whispered and Simon bit back a moan. Where did that come from? "I think we're not quite there yet. You did just kiss me for the first time, ever." Simon said, a little breathless when Jace pulled back and stared him in the eyes. The blonde smiled his brilliant smile. "True. Doesn't mean I have to get off, does it?" he asked and wiggled himself on Simon's lap. The brunette made a noise, his face going red. "You're an ass." he said and Jace laughed. "Maybe. You still like me. You have a cute little crush on me." he teased and Simon put his hand on Jace's shirt, pulling him down and smashed their lips together, making Jace's next words muffled.
He kissed Jace, more feverently than before and invaded his mouth roughly, letting his tongue slide across the roof of Jace's mouth, satisfied when he heard Jace moan into his mouth. He pulled back, Jace's lips now covered in saliva and swollen. He leaned back in, taking his lower lip between his teeth and tugged at it. Jace made a strangled noise, his face flushed now. "Okay, I'll stop with the teasing." Jace promised, his eyes hooded now. Simon smirked, his hands sliding onto Jace's hips and squeezing a little. He played with the hem of his shirt. "If you want me to take my clothes off, all you have to do is ask." Jace said playfully and Simon rolled his eyes. "Yes, that, and also, I was wondering how your abs taste." he said. He had no idea where these words were coming from, but judging by the look on Jace's face, he was succeeding in the 'make Jace as horny as possible' department.
The blonde reached to take off his shirt and when it came off, Simon leaned up, kissing his chest. Jace's breathing was a lot more labored now and Simon turned them over, so Jace was lying on his back and Simon was on top of him, letting his tongue glide over his skin, leaning to bite at the V-line disappearing into Jace's pants. Jace gave a small moan and Simon smiled against his skin.
He came back up, feeling his headache take its place again and he kissed Jace's neck gently. "As much as I love making you beg for me, I am so fucking tired and my headache is killing me." Simon said, remorseful. Jace's eyes blinked open and he was looking at Simon softly. He immediately pulled Simon down next to him, arms going around the brunette. "Then you should sleep. We can continue this whenever." Jace said, speaking into Simon's hair.
I may not say it outwardly
So all I have are memories
Those looks at the start, the words in the dark
But never a flame, we just wanted the spark
Simon turned, wanting to kiss Jace some more, just because. The blonde was happy to oblige and they exchanged lazy kisses, until Simon felt like his eyelids couldn't stay open any longer. He nuzzled into Jace's neck and just as he was about to fall asleep, he heard Jace say "And I don't beg." Simon felt a smile creep up to his face and he yawned. "We'll see." were his last words before dreams took him.
When he woke up again, it was dark outside and he couldn't really understand, why he'd waken up in the first place. But then, he heard it again. The knocking. He ignored it, even though he felt that his hangover was finally coming to an end.
Then his phone rang and the blonde next to him grunted. "I will kill whoever it is." Jace said, wrapping his arms around Simon's torso and snuggling closer. One of his legs was over Simon, trapping him effectively. So, Jace was like a cuddly pandabear. Good to know. He nudged him. "Jace, come on. It's probably Izzy, and she won't stop until I get it." he said and Jace groaned, loosening his grip a little so Simon could answer the phone.
Awkward hearts beating faster and faster
Faster and faster
We'll cut through the park
Stick to the path
I can't stick to the path
'Cause I dream about nothing but you
Isabelle's voice drifted to him through a haze of sleep he was still in. "Magnus and Alec said they were at your place and knocked but you didn't answer. Are you alright? Is Jace there? He isn't at the Institute." Simon was bombarded with questions and he pinched his nose, sitting upright. Jace was sprawled on his bed, hugging the blanket. Simon smiled. He looked adorable. "He's here. I mean, Jace is here. And we fell asleep, which is why he isn't there." he informed and heard Isabelle sigh.
Eat, sleep, wake
Nothing but you
Eat, sleep, wake
Nothing but you
Eat, sleep, wake
Nothing but you
"Oh, good. I was beginning to think you're dead and Jace went off to hunt demons." she said and Simon chuckled. Jace opened one eye and started at him. "Simon, I'm cold. Get back here." he mumbled and Simon felt his heart warm at the gesture. Jace hand was reaching for him, like he was ready to pull him back in. "Was that Jace?" Isabelle said and then she let out an undignified noise. "So, when you say, fell asleep, did you-" she started but Simon didn't let her finish. "Fall asleep? Genuinely, Isabelle, that's how you describe when one is tired and closes ones eyes, to slip into the state of half-conscious and half-unconsciousness." he said matter-of-factly and saw Jace smile a little, eyes now closed.
"Oh." Isabelle said and then "I thought that, maybe you-" she started and Simon gave a small laugh. "Slept together as in we fucked? Yeah, I'm working on that. We won't make it to the Institute tonight. Goodbye, Isabelle." Simon said, smirking. "You, Simon!" was all he heard when he clicked the phone shut and tossed it to his night stand. It slipped and fell to the floor on the carpet, next to the godawful alarm clock.
Nothing but you
Nothing but you
Eat, sleep, wake
Nothing but you
Eat, sleep
He turned to Jace, who now had both eyes open and his arms outstretched. Simon snuggled closer, taking the blanket to drape it over them. "So, you're working on getting into my pants? I'm wounded." Jace said, but his smile was evident. Simon laughed, feeling Jace's breath tickle his neck. He pressed his ass back against Jace's frontside and the blonde made a noise. "No, you're not." he said simply and Jace laughed quietly, pressing a kiss onto Simon's neck, making the hairs there stand on end. He wiggled in Jace's arms. "No, I'm not. Doesn't that involve a little less, you know, pants to start with?" Jace then said and Simon laughed, turning himself around and letting his hands to to the hem of Jace's sweats.
"I told you, I'm working on it." he said and Jace laughed again, kissing Simon, both smiling into the kiss and when Jace slid his fingers over Simon's abdomen, he giggled accidentally. Jace stilled, eyes wide and his face amused. Simon stared at him and then, his mouth gaped open. "Jace... Jace, no!" he said, but the blonde was already launghing at him, tickling his stomach and sending him into a fits of giggles.
By the time Jace allowed him to breathe again, it was already so dark outside, the street lamps illuminated them sprawled on the bed, Simon's hand going into Jace's hair and Jace's hands wrapping protectively around Simon, their lips attached once more.
Nothing but you, nothing but you
Nothing but you
