Chapter 35
"Into the unknoooown!"
"Jimin shut the fuck up!"
"Make me horse!"
"Bitch you wanna go?!"
"I swear to god if you two don't shut up right now I'm going to beat you both."
"I second that."
Ever since Namjoon put on Frozen 2, Jimin hasn't stopped singing every damn song on the list. Even after the movie ended and everyone was lounging around in the living room, Jimin still continued to sing.
"Where are you going don't leave me aloooone! AhhhaAHhhAHHhh!" Jimin sings loudly, purposely annoying his hyungs.
"Five."
Jimin' doesn't listen.
"Four."
Jimin's singing lowers.
"Three."
His smile drops.
"Two."
The singing lowers again.
"One."
"Ahhh!!" Jimin screams as he's now being chased by an annoyed Hoseok and Jungkook. "Don't beat me!" He screams again, running into the kitchen.
"I swear to god if you mess up my kitchen you're never eating again!" They hear Jin yell from the living room, followed by a chuckle from Namjoon. Jimin quickly runs out of the kitchen and into the living room again, being followed by Hoseok and Jungkook who are laughing evilly behind the poor boy. Jimin's eyes widen in thought as he comes to a stop and swings himself around the stair railing and runs upstairs, loosing the boys for a second. He runs down a hall and quickly slips into a hall he's never been in before. There's a limited amount of doors so he hurriedly chooses the one closest to him on the left. He turns the handle and closes it softly in order to not make a sound before pulling out his phone and turning on his flashlight. It's mid-day but the window is covered by black curtains, only giving minimal light in the room.
"What is this place?" Jimin whispers to himself, slowly walking around, looking at the decently clean room he's in. Family pictures on the walls, a desk in the middle in front of the window with a big office chair. Bookshelves littered with thick and thin books ranging from all heights, including some boxes of probable junk. Jimin walks over to the office chair and slowly sits down, looking at the files and papers spread around on top.
"Oh hey, it's Jin." Jimin mumbles aloud, hovering his flashlight over the picture of Jin's face. He turns the page and see's a younger version of Jin, along with five more papers, each having the names of his hyungs. "Oh it's their adoption papers." Jimin smiles, looking at the information. No matter how many times Jimin thinks about it, it's so sweet of Minho to adopt all six of them together. As Jimin reads over Namjoon's file, he spots something in the corner of the desk with a big bookmark on a page. He places Namjoon's file down and picks up the new one, a sort of... calling bringing him in.
"What are you?" He whispers, leaning back in the chair. He opens the file, seeing his face. "Oh, probably the papers Minho needed to take me in." Jimin tsks, scanning his eyes over every letter. Right as he's about to close it, he skims his finger along the bookmark, turning to that page and placing the bookmark on the desk. He grabs his flashlight and places it at a better angle.
"Park Jimin, 15 years old during movement. Under custody of Lee Minho, father of Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Kim Namjoon, Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook, adopted sons." Jimin reads aloud, already knowing this information. He turns the page, ignoring more stupid legal stuff.
"Oh! My birth certificate!" He giggles, excited to see it for the first time ever.
"PARK JIMIN, born October 13, 2003 at 10:12am in SEOUL ST.MARY'S HOSPITAL."
Biological Mother: Park Mi-Jeong
Jimin's body jerks forwards, eyes widen and jaw drops. He feels his heart drop into his stomach before it starts beating a hundred miles a minute.
Biological Father: Lee Minho
"No, there must be some mistake." He laughs hysterically, reading on.
Adoptive father: Park Pil-woo
"How- they... what?" Jimin stutters out. His dad isn't his dad? Minho is his real dad? Why didn't he tell him? Do the boys know? How long have they known? Is he a joke to the others? Do they think he's a fucking fragile doll?
"Jimin!?" He hears his name being called by Hoseok and Jungkook. "Jimin where are you!?" He hears them getting closer. He wants to run. He wants to put everything back where it was and just act like he didn't see everything. But he can't, he simply can't. He's frozen in place. Frozen by shock and betrayal.
"Jimin?" He hears Hoseok's voice ring through his ears like a piercing screech as the door slowly opens and the light is turned on. Hoseok lets out a gasp as Jungkook joins him in the room, seeing tears stream down Jimin's face.
"Shit." Hoseok curses before running over and grabbing the files out of Jimin's hands.
"You knew, didn't you?" Jimin whispers, looking at the ground. Hoseok is too busy trying to put everything back in place while Jungkook is now frozen at the door.
"Hoseok!" Jimin yells, making the elder jump. "You knew! Didn't you!?" He yells again, by now grabbing the attention of everyone downstairs.
"I- we did but-"
"So you all know!?" Jimin cries, taking a step back.
"Y-yes but it wasn't-"
"What's going on?" Jin has now appeared in the doorway along with the other hyungs. Jimin turns towards them, teeth visibly clenched as he holds in angry sobs.
"Am I a joke to you all?" Jimin asks, grabbing the files back from Hoseok's hands and holding them up for everyone to see. The boys standing at the doorway visibly tense.
"Jimin, just put the files down." Namjoon says calmly.
"Answer me!" Jimin yells, straining his vocal cords, but he could really care less.
"No, of course you're not a joke to us Jimin." Taehyung answers.
"Then why did no one tell me!? You all knew! You kept a secret from me! Not a small pinkie swear promise, but a tell and die secret!" The younger yells again, taking a step back as Hoseok tries to grab the files again. His hyungs are speechless, they don't know what to say.
"Nothing?! I don't even get an apology or an explanation from you guys!?" Jimin screams louder, making them jump.
"Jimin." Minho now enters the room.
"What." Jimin spits, more rage building up as he sees his supposed father.
"You want an explanation, correct?" Minho asks, standing between the boys at the door, and Jimin and Hoseok behind the desk. Jimin simply rolls his eyes.
"Before your mom found out she was pregnant, she came to me and had told me she had feelings for another man. That she still loved me, but not the same way she loved him. That man is the father you grew up with. I of course was heart broken, but allowed her to be with the other man. I never hated your mother for what she felt, for I had been loosing feeling for her for quite a while. They had a happy relationship while I was still their best friend. About 3 weeks later was when your mother started feeling ill, and getting symptoms like fatigue and morning sickness. We found out she was pregnant, and it was my child, you Jimin." Minho explains, taking this time in hope that Jimin would calm down just a little.
"When we found out your mother was pregnant, we agreed that your mother and your father would raise you. I had just been offered an important job here in Korea anyways. I helped your parents for two months before I had to move to Korea. Even if I was miles away, I still sent money and visited. I was there for your birth as well, and your third birthday. You called me Uncle Min, you were still too young to find out the truth. That's how you got the nickname Minnie." He continues, everyone listening intently at the story they've already heard, except for one.
"I was in Canada during the time of your parents crash because we were going to tell you on your 16th birthday who I really was. We did have the intention of telling you son." Minho sighs, earning a flinch from Jimin.
"Do not, call me son. Blood or not, you have no right to call me son right now." Jimin growls.
"I understand, I'm sorry. But Jimin please try to understand that me telling the boys who you were was for your safety. Why do you think I have one of them in each of your classes? One of them always with you or doing activities?" Minho starts connecting some dots.
"What about that horrible week where they never came to school right before Taemin came down?" Jimin asks, now fiddling with the files in his hands.
"I had told them that week. They were always asking questions on why they had to constantly be around you. When I told them you were my blood, they understood right away. It took them time to adjust, believe me." Minho chuckles out.
"So why didn't you tell me? How long were you planning on keeping this from me?" Jimin huffs, some anger rising again just in case he needs to yell.
"After Christmas, we didn't want this to ruin our first one together." Hoseok quietly answers beside him. Jimin simply nods before looking back at Minho.
"So you're my father." He sighs out, looking at his adoptive brothers around the room, looking guilty and ashamed. Minho nods his head in confirmation. Jimin pinches himself just in case he's dreaming. He's not.
"Holy shit." He lets out a large sigh. The amount of emotions he's feelings is overwhelming, trying to stay calm is starting to fail.
"Um, can everyone leave except Yoongi... please?" Jimin asks, placing the files back on the desk and facing everyone. They all nod, Yoongi stepping aside, watching everyone leave before closing the door. It's silent for a moment, Yoongi silently observing Jimin fiddle with the hem of his shirt as his chest starts rising faster and faster. He's easily at Jimin's side in a second, holding him in a tight embrace, arms wrapped around his back, putting pressure on his back to calm his down.
"You're okay Minnie, just breathe." Yoongi whispers, feeling Jimin's body shake as his small sobs start to turn into louder ones.
"I miss them so much." The younger cries out, grabbing harsh fistfuls of Yoongi sweater, burying his face in his chest.
"I know sweetie, I know." The elder rubs his back, carding his fingers through his shiny black locks in a way of comfort. Yoongi continues to let Jimin babble nonsense into his sweater, simply hushing him softly while keeping the rhythm on his back. Yoongi slowly lowers them to their knees, carefully flipping Jimin around, leaning his back against his stomach while he himself leans against the desk side. He wraps his arms around Jimin's waist, placing his chin on his shoulder, continuing to whisper sweet nothings and calming words into the younger's ears.
This goes on for another fifteen minutes before Jimin is almost asleep in Yoongi's arms.
"Are you feeling better sweetie?" Yoongi asks, rubbing circles on Jimin's arm as the younger's head is rested against his shoulder.
"A little yeah." Jimin's voice comes out raspy from the crying and screaming.
"Want some tea for your throat?" Yoongi asks, spelling out random words on Jimin's thigh now. Jimin nods his head, leaning forwards so Yoongi can stand up. He helps Jimin up, pulling the younger into a comforting hug before slipping off his sweater and putting it on the younger and pulling up the hood.
"You can hide in this, okay?" Yoongi smiles, bending to Jimin's height. Jimin simply stares at Yoongi with a dumbfounded look before slowly nodding his head. Yoongi grab's his hand, taking them out of the room, closing the door and walking down the stairs. Thankfully, no one is in the living room as they pass. They successfully make it to the kitchen without being spotted. Jimin waits sitting on the counter while Yoongi starts boiling some water and putting tea bags in two mugs.
"Where is everyone?" Jimin asks curiously.
"They went out to a corner store. They felt bad for hurting you, so they wanted to buy you your favorite things." Jay walks into the kitchen, dust wand in hand.
"Did you know?" Jimin asks, hoping the answer isn't yes.
"No, I did not. But, you boys sure are loud, not to mention I was cleaning in the other room." Jay chuckles, tapping Jimin on the nose before grabbing a glass of water for himself.
"If you want Jimin to forgive you, I suggest you do the same Master Yoongi." Jay sings as he leaves the kitchen. Yoongi looks wide eyed towards Jimin for a second before getting a laugh from the younger.
"Go on, I'll get the tea for us. It should still be hot by the time you all get back. I'll just wait in the living room." Jimin smiles, giving Yoongi a quick hug before the elder rushes out the door. Once the kettle starts screeching, Jimin removes it from the heat and pours the boiling water in the two cups, adding in some honey. He carries the cups carefully into the living room, setting them on the table in front of him and turning on the TV.
For some reason, he gets a sinking feeling in his stomach once he turns the TV on, frowning and looking out the window. It's a beautiful day.
