"You'll say yes one of these days." I smirk down at the green eyed girl in front of me.

"In your dreams, Potter." She scowls in return.

"That isn't the only thing I dream about, Evans." I wink and take a step closer to her.

She takes one step backwards into a wall. "Uh, I have to get to transfiguration. Bye, Potter!"

As she starts to run off, I yell, "Not so fast, Evans. I've got old McGonagall now too."

I catch up to her and wrap an arm around her shoulders.

"Sod off, James." She shrugs my arm off of her and keeps walking.

I smile genuinely. "You called me James."

She pauses. "No I didn't, Potter."

We reach the classroom and I take the seat next to her, despite the fact that she groans and turns away.

"You know, one day when we're old and married with kids I'm going to turn to you and say 'I told you so' then you'll grin and kiss me and we'll..."

"Potter, stop. You're making me sick." Lily interrupts.

"I have very high hopes for us, Evans." I lean in and smile at her.

"Does he ever shut up?" Lily turns to Sirius and Remus, who just walked in.

"Not when it comes to you, I'm afraid." Remus shakes his head in sympathy for her.

McGonagall walks in, but we keep talking, although Lily is obviously trying to pay attention.

"Evans, want to go to Hogsmeade with me next weekend?" I whisper loudly.

"Will it shut you up?" She turns her attention from McGonagall to me and raises an eyebrow.

"I guess."

"Then yes. Now be quiet. I don't want to fail." Her head spins back to the front.

A victory whoop escapes from me and my arms fly into the air, my hands clenched in fists. "She finally said yes!"

"Potter, sit down and stop disrupting the class," McGonagall says with a glare.

"Can't do that Professor. I have to spread the news!"

Just as Lily starts to hide her face in her hands, I run out of the class screaming, "Lily Evans said yes!"
