"Don't forget to complete your homework." It's lunchtime and Jimin's focused going through the chapter. A pencil tucked behind his ear. His reading glasses on. Lips thinned while solving the homework.
An arm hangs around his shoulders, and suddenly he's too aware of the surroundings. Knows who the arm belongs to. "Let's eat." Jungkook bends down, his fragrance surrounding around Jimin. It's fresh and homely. Unlike the rich filth he gives off.
"We can do this later." Jungkook shuts his book with a little thud and Jimin can feel his arm draping around his shoulders tighter. His eyes are drooping with the feeling of it. It was disgusting.
He gets up suddenly, startling Jungkook. "Personal space is a thing." He takes his glasses off, "You're too close" He doesn't meet his eyes and casually picks his books up.
As for Jungkook, he twists his lips, "what do you mean? I thought it was okay in between friends..."
"Not with me." Jimin shuts himself. "Also, I'll be eating with my girlfriend today." And Jungkook feels bad, "Of course..." Glances down at the bracelet he gave Jimin. He was wearing it. "But I thought we could—"
Jimin looks at him. Drops his face. "Told you not be a bother. Do that for me, please?."
Jungkook doesn't like it. Shifts uncomfortably in his place. "C'mon we were good yesterday what—" Jimin picks up his bag, doesn't even let him finish. "See you after lunch." And he sets off without looking back even once, leaving Jungkook to be.
Jungkook scratches his nape and pouts. "Alright." Doesn't fight it and grabs his bag. Goes by himself to eat.
Sora is right in front of Jimin and no words have shared in between them. She's closed off and he is, too. They're eating in silence and Jimin kept glancing at Jungkook sitting alone at the table near the window.
He's got his back facing the wall, shoulders slightly hunched as he's got his eyes on his meal. It wasn't a pleasant sight. It made Jimin's heart ache unfamiliarly.
He thought distancing would be a good thing to sort what he's feeling right now, but leaving Jungkook by himself didn't feel good to him.
Sora has added a chunk of chicken on Jimin's meal plate, but he's far from observing that. His gaze simply drawn to Jungkook. There was something captivating about the way Jungkook sat there, lost in his own world, the afternoon sunlight filtering through the windows that casts a soft glow on him.
Jungkook's dark hair fell slightly over his eyes. Now and then, he would brush it away absentmindedly, his moments slow.
Guilt fills in Jimin's heart. As he watched, Jungkook lifted his head towards the window, his eyes catching the light that made them sparkle.
Jimin takes a small sip of his drink, gazing at him.
"Jimin?" His girlfriend's voice broke through his stance. He turns to her, forces a smile, "Hey."
She frowns, concerned. "Are you okay?"
Jimin places his glass on the table. "Yeah, just a little distracted." He mumbled, trying to focus on the conversation but failing miserably. Jungkook's voice from the corner rings in his ears. He's laughing with a girl that has approached and is talking to him about something.
Jimin's heart skips a beat. What was this feeling?
"I need a moment." Jimin gets up, walks away, looks back once at Jungkook and finds Jungkook already looking at him. His eyes scrunching up.
It stirred something in his heart.
It was at this moment that he realizes it's no casual friendship. It's certainly not. Friends don't feel like that for other friend. The emptiness he feels when he's away from him. The guilt he feels for avoiding him for a girl he doesn't even like. Having thoughts of him in his brain in a way that he's disgusted by himself. Feels a little jealous of him talking to a girl. The feeling of comfort that only Jungkook brings to him.
He didn't want this, but it has happened to him and all he can think of is, either he's going to get hurt by maintaining distance from him or take this chance to create something more—
He holds his head and sighs hard. Grabs the back of his neck and kneels down the empty hallway. He has no guts. There's no way he can come out in front of Jungkook. His friendship would ruin—wait, it's already ruined since his heart decided to play that way. He hugs himself. Cries. Cries.
He was done for.

Jungkook grabs a drink and some snacks on his way to Jimin's home. He got concerned about how he kept acting up at school. Assumes something is troubling him. Want to be there for him. And know what went wrong.
He parks his bike around the parkade of Jimin's mansion. Takes off his helmet. The weather is shitty. Too cold. Too cloudy. For some reason, he doesn't get a good feeling about this. After he parks, he goes to the main door and rings the bell.
The bell rings for a good fifty seconds until a woman lifts the call.
"Is it Jungkook?" She asks. He guesses it's the nanny. His eyes glance at the camera that is dripping by little droplets. Smiles and says yes. The door opens automatically.
Although he's been more than a hundred times at his place, it still feels new every single time. The tension, the intimidation and the lack of homeliness. It's like a living graveyard. He steps inside and his shoes are making clicking sounds as he walks inside. His arms are stiff. There's fog coming through his lips.
The lights are off at the floor. Only a little of light casting through the large window. The curtains swaying. Large long sofas just existing with no one sitting. No flowers in sight. A fireplace was sitting dead with no fire lit. He just takes the stairs and looks up at Jimin's room, where the door is half open.
This time, he feels a little hesitant to get in just like that. Knocks on it few times softly. No answer. Tries again. Still no answer. He tries to open it and finds Jimin sleeping in his sheets.
He sighs and gets in. Closes the door behind him.
His room is neat and clean, unlike his. The walls painted in white. Half of his furniture in darker shades of colour. It's rich. All good appliances he couldn't afford. He pulls the chair and sits on it. Twirls it to face it to the Jimin sleeping.
He rests up. Relaxes. Can't decide what to do. Stares at him. He's sleeping quietly. Eyes shut, lips a little ajar. He softly laughs. Leans on the table next to him and finds a locket sitting there just like that. The locket he gave him. He picks it up and twists his lips. Thinks how good things were yesterday and what happened today that had him act up rude to him today.
He tries to place it back until he accidentally drops it. Picks it up only to get his head get hit by the table's corner. A big thud happening that makes Jimin flinch open his eyes. He gasps as soon as Jungkook lifts his head. His hands rubbing his head.
Jimin blinks thrice and tries to open his eyes fully. Eyebrows all scrunched.
Jungkook winces. It hit him hard. Jimin glances at the locket he bend down to pick up and then at him.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" His voice is hoarse. Jungkook, who's still rubbing his head, groans. "Is that how you react when I come over to your place unannounced?"
"Yeah, I do." He groans and leans back in his pillow and shuts his eyes back to go sleep. Jungkook yells at him and Jimin shuts his ears. "Let me sleep!" He yells and Jungkook pushes on his arms.
"What's wrong with you?" He asks, and Jimin shows his back to him and tries to go back to sleep. Doesn't reply.
Jungkook, frustrated, picks on the snack packet and tears it to open to eat it on his own. Jimin peeks through his shoulders and finds Jungkook eating his favourite snack.
He scowls.
Snatches the packet from him and keeps it to himself. "It's for me, right?" He mumbles and Jungkook, who was in the middle of savouring a good snack, is dead staring at him.
"What's wrong?" Jimin takes a peek again, and Jungkook gets up to snatch it back. "Someone needs to sleep, don't they?" He tries to snatch it, but Jimin's firm grip doesn't let him.
"Yah!" Jungkook yells and Jimin is holding onto the packet like his life depends on it. "Jimin stop being so fuckin annoying—" he cursed and Jimin, offended, turns only to have the snack packet snatched and tear open entirely. The snacks flying midway like a waterfall.
"You prick." Jungkook scolds. And Jimin, totally offended, pulls his lips inside. Guilty. Looks away. He was acting like a spoilt kid. Jungkook takes off his shoes and Jimin hears ruffles until he sees Jungkook take off his jacket too.
His heart beating like crazy. Fuck.
"Hey—hey, what's wrong?" Jimin panics. Jungkook staying in his black casual shirt and loose pants. "Move aside." He orders and suddenly Jimin feels submissive. "Why?" His voice has dropped a thousand times slow. His blood heating up.
"I'm cold as fuck. Let me use the blanket." He gets on the bed and Jimin gasps in tiny. His heart was almost about to pierce his ribcage through. He curses. "No–no—I'm not—" Jungkook stops and looks at him with dead eyes. He's close enough. "I did not ask, Jimin." He makes his way in and slips next to Jimin and groans. Makes himself comfortable.
He shoves his face under the pillow as soon as Jungkook gets in and settles comfortably and hugs the blanket. "Ugh feels good."
"Pervert!" Jimin cries.
Jungkook hums questionably at him. This wasn't like Jimin. He could've pushed him off the bed and curse at him rather than getting all timid. It's like he's acting like a fragile woman. It makes Jungkook laugh. Who knew Jimin could act all cute?
"Hey, what's up?" Jungkook chuckles, rests his chin on his hand and asks him to turn, but Jimin is nowhere close to show his face to him.
"What's gotten you so embarrassed?" He punches his back softly and Jimin only grown in small, asking him not to bother him. It felt different; his reactions. Not that he didn't like it, but it felt fun to tease him more.
So he bends, decides to end Jimin. Brings his lips closer to his ears and takes his name, "Jimin..." and he witnesses how the tiny hair on his skin stands straight. Goosebumps forming on him all over.
He crouches on the blanket. Jungkook blinking at his reaction again. Interesting, he thinks. This fragile Jimin making him happy. It was always him being violent with him, but this—this was new.
"Are you okay, Jim—" he witnesses how his ears have turned red. He bends a little more forward to glance at how his eyes are tight shut. His cheeks were crimson red. Amazed. Such a sight was a rare one.
Did he sneak a drink or something? Cause what in the world was this?
It makes Jungkook go all soft. "You don't wanna answer me?" He punches his palm on his shoulders and Jimin buries his head even more in the pillow.
Jungkook frowns. Something was off.
"Jimin—"
"You should leave—" Jimin mumbles against his pillow. His body growing hot. "I wanna be alone, Kook."
The nickname had him grow weak. "Why...?" Jungkook sits up straight instead, genuinely concerned. "If there's something you want to talk about, you know I'm always—"
"I don't have anything to talk to you—"
"Then why you're acting like that?"
Jimin flips, "Like what!"
"You're acting weird since morning. What has gotten into you?" He aggressively questions and Jimin repels back, "You're the one who's acting weird. I've always been like that."
"No, you're not."
"You think you know me well enough to—"
"–what the fuck are you on?"
"—If you don't have anything sensible to say–don't bring—"
"The fuck is wrong with you?"
"Can you stop fucking cursing for god's—"
"You're the one cursing, like do—"
"Oh, my god."
"Chill out manh."
"Why, why play so offensive?" Jungkook breathes hard. Stares at him as if he's done too. Jimin clenches his jaw, doesn't want to argue, but he is as helpless. All he wants is for him to go. To leave his presence cause he's making him think disgusting things.
"All I want is to be there for you..." Jungkook feels exhausted, "like—" and Jimin cuts him, "You're always ready to help but it's not always what I want—"
"I just care about you." He's gotten his fists closed. Desperation laced in his voice.
"Caring doesn't mean you've gotta interrupt my private—"
And Jungkook cups his head, standing up. "Private what?" Shocked, looking at how Jimin was just adding into the distance between them. He drops his hands down, completely disrupted. "I didn't realize I bothered you that much."
"Well, I just want to be left alone I guess—" he says it without a thought. Completely being defensive.
It makes Jungkook frown.
No response from Jungkook making Jimin realize what was so wrong, he said. There's silence in between them.
Disappointed, Jungkook quietly gets off the bed and packs his stuff. Jimin, who's guilty, drags away the blanket, "Kook, listen I didn't mean—" and Jungkook doesn't let him complete, shuts the door on his face and leaves.
