Part 5
The group had just crossed a dangerous stretch of highway when they finally found some temporary shelter in a dilapidated building. Exhausted, they all gathered in the corner, their supplies running low again. Rick sat down on a broken chair, rubbing his face in frustration.
"We can’t keep running on fumes like this. We need to find something, anything, or we won’t last the night."
“Maybe Jihyo’s got a secret stash of firewood in that bag of hers,” Daryl said, his voice dripping with sarcasm but with a playful grin.
Jihyo tilted her head, eyes gleaming as she overheard the conversation. “You know what, Daryl?” she asked, walking over to her bag. “I think I do.”
She knelt down, unzipping it with exaggerated slowness, and the group stared at her, as if waiting for the impossible.
With a dramatic flourish, she pulled out an entire stack of firewood—neatly arranged and not a single log out of place.
The group blinked, then blinked again, their jaws dropping in disbelief.
“No way,” Rick said, eyeing the logs like they were made of gold.
“How…?” Abraham muttered.
Jihyo smiled as she placed the wood in the corner. “Oh, this? Found it near a cabin I was scavenging last week. I figured you’d need it eventually.”
“You have firewood in your bag?” Glenn asked, his voice tinged with incredulity.
“It’s kind of a multipurpose bag,” Jihyo said, her smile sweet and carefree. “Never know when you'll need some warmth!”
The group looked at one another, then back at her. This time, no one said a word—they were simply too awestruck.
Beth, always the optimist, was the first to recover. “Okay, now I’m starting to believe you’re some kind of walking survival kit,” she said with a grin.
Jihyo laughed, playfully swatting at her hair. “Well, I try my best,” she said with a wink.
As the night began to fall and the fire crackled to life, everyone gathered around the warmth, still struggling to grasp the idea that Jihyo’s bag could contain literally anything they could need. After a few moments of stunned silence, Rick turned to her again.
“You have anything else in there?”
“Anything you want,” Jihyo said with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. “Just ask.”
A playful silence fell over the group, and then Sasha spoke up.
“Okay, how about a boat? You got a boat in there?”
“Actually, I think I do,” Jihyo said, reaching into the bag once more. To the group's utter disbelief, she pulled out a small inflatable boat, perfectly folded and ready to use.
The group stared in stunned silence, unable to process what they were seeing.
“Jihyo, you’ve got to be messing with us,” Daryl said, shaking his head in disbelief.
“I’m not!” she said, laughing softly. “I mean, it’s not like I could carry an entire yacht, but this could come in handy, right?”
“Unbelievable,” Eugene muttered under his breath. “She really does have everything.”
“Well, I don’t know about everything, but I try to keep essentials in there,” Jihyo replied, turning to face the group. “But if there’s anything specific you need—”
“I think we’re good for now,” Rick said, his voice full of awe. “Just… don’t ever let anyone else get their hands on that bag.”
The group gathered closer around the fire as the night grew colder, but this time, there was a sense of reassurance in the air. Jihyo had given them hope once again with her ever-impressive bag of miracles.
And as they prepared for the unknown challenges ahead, they knew one thing for sure: no matter how bad things got, Jihyo’s bag would always have their backs.
