"Even when you don't have the right words to say, make sure your presence lets them know that you're with them no matter what........"
"Be ready tomorrow ... we'll go to get your admission in the college."
As soon as these words slipped from Shaurya's mouth, Manjiri opened her eyes and turned back to look at him. Her eyebrows shot up in surprise and elation. This topic was something she had least expected at this moment, as yesterday only she had made this demand to her Dii and Jiju and now tomorrow she'll be admitted. She couldn't believe on her ears. She immediately sat up.
"True???..."
She asked astonishingly. His lips twitched in amusement at her silly question. He replied jokingly
"No, false..."
"You will come along for admission??"
She asked him again unbelievingly, as still she felt that perhaps her ears deceived in hearing.
"Yes...
Is there a problem with me going with you tomorrow?"
He asked her raising his eyebrows. She answered him saying,
"No, no...it's not like that..."
"So then what is it like?"
"I mean.. Don't you have to go to your hospital tomorrow?"
"Why don't you say it clearly that you don't want to take me with you...huh?"
"No...that's not what I meant."
" Enough, I completely understand what you meant."
He was really enjoying irritating her. She frowned on his words, so she got quiet and looked away. Whereas he smiled a little feeling amused looking at her silly cute frown.
"If you're done frowning ... switch off the light and go to sleep my angry bird."
On hearing this she looked back to him. But to her utter surprise, this time after offering her a devilish smirk he turned his back towards her. She widened her eyes in disbelief. She rolled her eyes on him and switched off the lights. Laying down she too turned her back towards him. She wondered,
"What kind of a person is he...? Far from understanding, he doesn't even listen properly....Uff!"
And soon they both slept waiting for the next day to come.....
"It's the will to stay together which keeps a relationship going.........."

"Nowadays all I hear are the unspoken words of yours........"
"My God she's so unpredictable... At the mention of admission, her reaction last night made me think that she'll be excited and pleased but....
Well she seems lost now."
Shaurya spoke to himself when he peeked a glance at Manjiri who was leaning against the car window and watching outside while sitting silently. Well both were returning back after getting Manjiri's admission in the same college where Mrs. Dipti Mohan, Shaurya's Badi Maa teaches.
Today, Shaurya got to know many new things about his wife such as - she's a science student, is a good speaker - an orator and is blessed with a neat and beautiful handwriting...unlike him whose got a sloppy handwriting. Well no doubt he's a doctor.... he is really having a very bad handwriting since his school days.
In order to break the awkward silence that prevailed in the car, Shaurya cleared his throat to gain her heed. And fortunately this time he successfully managed to grab her attention. No sooner did her eyes travelled from the window to his face then he asked her slowly,
"Why do I feel that I'm sitting with a small girl who is tensed about the fact that she has to start studying now...."
After saying he continued smiling much to her annoyance, she huffed while tucking some of her hair behind her ear. She replied sparing him a look,
"No doubt you're Dev Bhaiya's brother..."
Unknowingly his lips twitched in amusement listening her, he chuckled. While she looked at him blankly.
Both Shaurya and Manjiri were realizing that slowly-slowly they both were growing comfortable with each other but still no one spoke after that.
Soon he sensed her looking at him a few times as if she wanted to say or ask something but each time decided against it. Suddenly he spoke while concentrating on the road,
"Say...what you want to say."
Taken aback for a moment she blinked her eyes and asked him
"Is it fine with you if I open the window glass...?"
"Yaa..Fine with me.
All okay?.....Motion sickness???"
"Umm...actually I don't like being in ac that much. At times I really can't tolerate this sudden temperature change."
She told him slowly while opening the glass to let the fresh air enter in. Shaurya noticed the cold sweat on her face and at then he sensed her uneasiness caused by the ac. He wondered
"Oh so she's sensitive to change in temperature also...my God!"
Even though he was affected by her discomfort but he still felt satisfied with the fact that at least by this he came to know another new thing about Manjiri.
Again silence engulfed both of them. All of a sudden the same thing came to Shaurya's mind which he wanted to ask her ever since he saw her marksheets and certificates, which were there in that folder which Adishri had left in their room.
"Being from science, had you ever thought of going into the medical field??"
He asked her quizzically. To which she replied absently
"No...I never wanted as I abhor it."
Stunned by her reply, he couldn't stop him from asking her this foolish question,
"You dislike medical field or doctors?"
"Both."
She still replied absentmindedly. The little voice inside his head taunted him,
"She dislikes you Shaurya..."
He slightly shook his head and called her name. Hearing him calling her name, she looked at him snapping back to reality. He then again asked her,
"May I know the reason why you regard these with so much disgust and hatred?"
Shaurya had no idea that by asking this question he had unknowingly pricked some of Manjiri's wounds. On hearing his question, bitter memories flashed in front of her eyes. She replied him with a great difficulty holding back her tears,
"You might don't know that few people have turned this field into a business. And by this... majority of people go in to debt paying for major medical care and the worst part is that they're not even guaranteed 100% success..."
Cutting her in the middle of her sentence, he stated calmly
"But here you should blame the healthcare system not the doctors or the medical field entirely..."
This time she cut him off by saying,
"I know...but I don't know why I've now completely lose trust in this field...and I guess I'll always doubt every doctor...
You don't know how badly I've been let down by your this so called field..."
Saying all this, her eyes welled up. And seeing her tears, Shaurya regretted asking her that question. Helding the steering wheel tightly, he mentally groaned.
After a few minutes, calming himself he gently spoke
"If the little girl sitting with me wishes to go somewhere, then I can take her...to cheer her up."
Surprised at his words, she sniffed and replied in low voice,
"No, I just want to be back home."
"Ok then...as the little girl wills."
Unknowingly Manjiri felt herself slightly smiling at his words while looking outside the window.
"I may not be an artist, but would you please let me repaint that faded smile of yours........."

"Once your heart starts to feel good..... everything around you starts to feel better."
"He hasn't woken up yet?"
Manjiri was immersed reading a book when she heard Dev's voice and saw him walking further in the room. Looking at Shaurya's direction immediately, she asked Dev to speak softly by doing hand gestures.
"But why?... I mean how much he'll sleep?
Wait...
Why do I feel that he has to rob some place tonight..."
She couldn't help chuckling at his amusing words.
"Hey Bhai, wake up..."
Dev screamed while moving towards the bed. Shaurya twisted a little but didn't open his eyes instead answered him back with a shout,
"Just shut up and get lost..."
Manjiri looked towards them when she heard Shaurya's abrasive tone. Soon she found their Dadi entering in. Seeing her she closed her book and got up from the couch.
"Will you both stop screaming like kids???
Grown up so much, still don't understand."
Scolding and saying this Dadi settled her down on the bed beside Shaurya who was still lying. When he sensed her presence beside her, he turned and laid his head on her lap with his eyes still closed. Soon Dadi started running her left hand in his hair lovingly. She softly said,
"Get up baccha.."
Manjiri felt herself smile at the scene. Undoubtedly everyone in the family seemed very fond of Dadi. By now she also came towards their side and stood next to Dev.
"Yes Bhai...see now even Miru Bhabhi also wants you to wake up."
Hearing Dev's words Manjiri mentally banged her head to an invisible wall whereas Shaurya slowly opened his eyes and glanced at her direction.
Well today Shaurya had taken a leave from his work due to two reasons. The first reason was Manjiri's admission, but along with it he really needed a break from his work. He was really fatigued due to working in continuity for long hours without proper sleep from last few days in Chandigarh.
He slowly sat up. He asked while lazily rubbing his eyes,
"What's the time?"
"Its half past six in the evening... and if you're done taking your beauty sleep then come on let's go downstairs, as many a times nearly everyone asked me to get you down."
Dev uttered these words. Shaurya nodded and got up from the bed. Dadi also got up, and soon all of them made their way to downstairs and joined the rest of the family.
The best feeling in the whole world is watching things finally fall into place specially after watching them fall apart from so long...And probably here somehow things have started falling into the right places. Right?
"Everything happens for a reason, whether you discover that reason now, later or never............."
