"Calm down Margo, Adam didn't do anything-" Margo cuts Julie off before she can say anything more. She and Mike had been on vacation when she saw a tabloid with a picture of Adam kissing some bitch that wasn't her friend. When she read the headline for the tabloid she tried to make Mike bring her home, knowing that Julie would need her.

"I saw the photos, Julie, you can't tell me that wasn't Demarco." Margo snarls, she had Mike turn her when she was about to look older than him. She didn't want to look like an old woman while he remained young. Nor did she want her kids to be ashamed to tell the other kids that she was their mom.

Julie sighs, "If you will let me tell you everything, then you will understand that he wasn't guilty." She is rather glad that Mike refused to cut their vacation short and come home early. Besides the fact their family needed the time together away from the stress of being the alpha and family, she needed the time to figure out how to diffuse Margo's hot temper towards Adam. 

Adam and Margo got along like oil and water. There are times when like a salad dressing they mix together but in a short time they separate fairly quick and they are back to butting heads. Margo is thankful to Adam for saving her life and that of her first litter of pups, but she's still not happy about Julie almost dying because of being kidnapped by the rogues. 

Yeah, a long time to hold a grudge. There are times Julie just wants to lock them into a room together until they work things out, but then that would end up with someone dead, most likely Mike, an innocent party. She rather likes Mike, he's been good for her flighty friend. He's treated her like a queen and Julie couldn't ask for more. 

Margo could. She says that Mike still is more than a little over protective. Julie smiles in understanding and bites her lip. If she thinks Mike is bad, then she should try having six vampires that have a tendency to be overprotective towards her or the kids. And when she's pregnant, watch out. She can't even get dressed on her own. 

She wouldn't mind that so much, if it was once in a while. But everyday. In the morning, when she wants to take a bath, (one of them has to help her, she can't take one alone), when she wants to change clothes for any reason. She gets so frustrated.

"Fine," her friend's voice brings her back from thoughts of strangling six sexy as hell vampires and back to the present.

"The vampire bitch he's seen in the photos with doused him with one of the forbidden spells and had him under compulsion to do all that." Julie finally says and lets her friend absorb her words as she orders tea for them both. She knows that this will take some time to explain and wants her friend fed or there will be blood. Whose, she isn't sure about and she wants to keep it that way.

When Julie comes back in Margo goes in for the attack. "You can't possibly believe that excuse can you?"

"Margo, if you are going to verbally attack my wife you will be asked to leave." Adam came home early knowing that Margo would be here. Mike had called and warned him.

Adam dumps some cd's in front of her. "The interrogation of the vampire bitch, the witch bitch and all the accomplices that were trying to overthrow my reign."

"What?" Margo, whispers incredulously.

"I tried to tell you, the vampire bitch wanted the throne. She, her father and some other discontented vampires worked together. Her father found a black witch willing to make the forbidden spell. 

"Under pretense of selling or merging companies the vampire bitch and her father met with Adam. I'm still not sure how they slipped him the potion-"

"She slipped it into my coffee when I was in cleaning up from the coffee she spilled on my shirt." Adam says tight lipped. He really doesn't like thinking about that time.

Julie lays her hand on his arm and his anger lowers as he settles down next to her. He fixes himself a cup of tea as Julie continues the explanation.

"After Adam drank the potion he can't remember anything until he got mine or rather Aaron's phone call. When Aaron finally managed to talk to him he made Adam watch the same footage I had seen earlier that day and the same photos you saw on your trip. He was furious.

"He had fallen asleep at his office there instead of his hotel and when he saw the vampire bitch still there at that time of day-"

"I was beyond furious. I grabbed her by her throat and held her against a wall and forced her to tell me what the fuck she did to me and why. Then I forced her to tell me the names of all those that helped her.

"Then I forced her to come back here and spent some quality time in the cells with me and Julie here. Those cd's are the security videos that recorded during that quality time.

"She tried her damnedest to make me have sex with her, but I am already bound to Julie. Once a vampire is bound to their special one, they cannot have sex with anyone else, only their special one."

"Now I know that's full of shit. Every single one of you Demarco's is married, but only you are to Julie. I know that she is your special one and the special one to all of you Demarco boys."

Julie feels Adam's anger and hurries to speak, "Margo, hush." Julie's words might have been gentle but her tone wasn't.

"Yes, I am the special one to all the Demarco boys, but it's under special circumstances, all of them with the exception of Adam also have a second special one. You might not know since you weren't here, but Sophia and Callie died."

Julie's words stopped Margo cold. "What the fuck happened?" Is all she manages to say.

Julie tightens her hold on Adam and takes comfort in the touch. Even more when he puts his hand over hers and holds it down.

"They were in a car accident. They went to a bar to have some fun after the kids' birthday party. Some asshole was driving drunk and lost control of his car. There wasn't a whole lot of traffic that night, but besides Sophia and Callie three other humans besides the drunk were killed."

"Shit. How are Aaron and Alex holding up?" Margo says still in shock.

Adam decides to speak up once more. "Aaron is having more issues with guilt than anything. He was going to serve divorce papers to her in the morning. Other than that he's fine. Alex though, he's having it a bit rougher. He hadn't gotten to the same point with Callie that Aaron had with Sophia."

"Is there anything I can do?" Margo likes Aaron and Alex and didn't like their bitchy wives.

"No. We didn't want a lot of attention so we kept the information to those that needed to know and had a quiet double funeral for them three days after their death."

Margo is quiet and thinks about everything she's heard. She looks at the cd's, no dvd's if they are footage, before her. She picks one up thoughtfully and looks over to Julie, "you really participated in the torture?"

Adam smirks and nods, "She did a lovely job on the bitch that dared to have me kiss her."

Margo smiles back at him, "How did you fix your public image?" His image has a lot of weight in the human business world.

"Made her give a statement and public apology to me. We passed it off as she hired someone that looks like me to do those things in an effort to get me to divorce Jewel and lower the stock prices in my companies.

"There was some disbelief, but when it was found out that Julie was sick and I was at her side tending to her at the time I was supposedly cheating on her that stopped the naysayers." Adam tells her while smirking.

Margo looks at Julie confused, "You were sick?"

"No, but I hadn't been out in public either so no one could say any differently except those loyal to us.

"An appearance by a man that looks remarkably like Adam terminated any possibility that Adam cheated on me.

"We issued a statement saying that I believe my husband is completely innocent and it was nothing more than a crude attempt by that bitch to get my husband and his companies." Julie says and now it's Adam's turn to calm her down.

"We didn't use those words of course," Adam says chuckling.

"Oh, of course," Margo says picking up her tea and taking a sip. You go for one short vacation and everything changes.
