"What the hell?" Julie says as she drops her cup of coffee. Adam was away on business and wouldn't be home for a few days. Not having anything better to do she was watching some online tabloid crap. She knows better and she knows that most of it is crap, but she can't help herself.

She just never thought it would destroy her life like it just did.

Whenever Adam leaves for an extended period he makes sure that at least one of the other brothers will be with or near her at all times. Aaron and then Alex come running in as they feel her pain through the connection. They find Julie desperately calling on her phone. They don't know who she's trying to call or what caused the pain they felt.

Julie listens for a bit and then throws her phone down in anger and pain. She lets the tears out and a scream. Aaron and Alex rush to hold her, one on each side of her bed.

"What's going on Jules?" Alex demands softly after they are able to calm her down a bit.

"Look at this," Julie turns the computer and starts the clip the tabloid posted. There are other photos linked to the story as well.

Alex and Aaron read the headline as the clip loads and starts. "Has multibillionaire gotten tired of wife already?" Then it shows a clip of Adam with a woman holding hands in a restaurant. They are finishing a meal and when they come out Adam takes her to a more secluded place and kisses her. There is no doubt that he is the one to initiate the kiss. The way that he holds the other woman leaves no doubt that he's very much into the kiss as well.

"Julie there must be some hoax. Adam would never cheat on you, he couldn't. Once a vampire finds his special one and they accept each other they cannot be with another female/male." Aaron tries to console her, but there is a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.

Julie just looks at him, at both of them and they can see the tears and pain in her eyes. "Look at the photos. It isn't just one paparazzi that has photos of him with this woman. This clip is from lunch time, his time, I tried to get him through the link but he's blocked me. I tried calling him and he won't answer. I called him on the dedicated phone that he promised that he'd answer if I ever called no matter what. So you tell me what I'm supposed to think, Aaron," Julie says bitterly.

In the ten years she's been with the Demarco's she and they have had their share of ups and downs. They are over protective when it comes to her and the children, especially the girls and Julie has to remind them that she isn't a toy to display and control then hide away until they are ready to play again.

She thought that after ten years that they understood that.

She never thought that Adam would betray her, especially not after what happened with Alex ten years ago.

She thought wrong.

"It's late where he's at now. He is probably sleeping. I bet if you call him again he'll pick up this time." Alex does his best to soothe her.

Julie gives them both hard looks and slowly reaches for her phone that she'd thrown onto the bed earlier. She's just glad that it didn't bounce off and break.

She calls and puts the call on speaker so the other two could listen in.

The phone rings several times before a female answers the phone, "Adam Demarco's phone."

Julie is too stunned to speak. Aaron is furious and Alex is now holding Julie and talking to her through the mind link to keep her calm.

"Who the hell are you?" Aaron demands of the female.

The female stutters. She had seen the caller ID and the name of Adam's wife, she has no problem letting the bitch know that Adam is with  another woman. It actually works out well for her.

"It doesn't matter, get my brother on the phone right now." Aaron lets his anger out enough to let the unknown female know that he's not messing around.

"He's sleeping, that's why I answered the phone, didn't want him to wake up." The woman manages to keep the implication there without saying that Adam had actually been sleeping with her.

"I don't give a damn. Get him on the phone, now!" Aaron is furious with both the unknown female and his brother. There has to be an explanation other than the obvious.

By now the female is no longer smirking and is actually shaking as she wakes Adam up and hands him the phone.

Adam feels someone waking him up and takes the phone without noticing who it is handing him the phone in the first place.

As he listens to Aaron speak he wakes up and becomes angrier than ever. He looks around the room more than a little disoriented.

"Aaron, hold on, what time is it?" Adam doesn't remember anything after the meeting he had to potentially merge or buy out a company.

"It's two in the morning your time. Get your laptop out and type in the website I'm sending you. You better have a damn good reason for that and for having a woman answer your phone at this hour." Adam can hear the anger in his brother's voice. That alone makes him open up his laptop and put in the website address.

What he sees makes him sick. Then the second part of his brother's words hit him. A female answered his phone? He's alone in the room. He looks to where his private bathroom is in the office he woke up in. At that moment a door opens and he sees a female exiting the room.

The clip and photos he saw make him see red. The female that enters his office is the same one that is at his side in the photos and clip.

Before the female can blink he has her by her throat against the wall, feet dangling in the air.

"What the fuck did you do to me Bitch?" Adam demands. Aaron can hear him since Adam left his phone on speaker while he looked up the website.

"I gave you a potion. That little girl you married isn't good enough to be our queen or your wife."

Adam is so furious that he's shaking in rage, it's taking every thing in him to not pull her apart right there and then.

"So you thought you'd make a better one?" He can barely speak and he has a hard time forcing the words out through his mouth.

"She's a child, I'm a woman. I know how to be the one you need." The female is now more than a little desperate to make him listen and let her go. She had severely underestimated him.

"My wife is all woman and all I'll ever need. She's more woman than you'll ever be even if she isn't three hundred years old. She's also my special one you stupid bitch. You think that she got pregnant and gave me twenty children from a spell?" The rest of the world doesn't know that many of those children are children to his brothers, it's better that that information doesn't get out.

"Yes. It's the only thing that makes sense for so many babies at once."

"Two pregnancies, idiot, and there were no spells used. I am bound to her not just married. You messed with a bound couple and if she leaves me, I will make sure that your death is long and painful. Then when I am no longer able to cause the pain due to my death you caused, my brothers will finish it. Do you understand?" Adam demands.

"Now, you will tell me which black witch gave you the proscribed potion and all those that are complicit to the crime. You will leave no one out, now start talking," Adam demands.

And she does. She had no idea that Adam was actually with his Special one. That explains why she couldn't get him to actually have sex with her. She curses herself for not knowing that one little fact. She ignored the signs and chose to not believe it and now she lost her gambit for the throne.

She lost it before she even tried. If his special one dies then so too will he, if he doesn't go insane first.

Adam makes sure that she is unable to leave before returning to his phone.

"Aaron, where is Julie?" Adam is desperate to hear the answer.

"She went to start packing. I tried to tell her it wasn't true but she doesn't want to hear it."

"You've got to get her to stay there until I have a chance to talk to her." Adam says nearly panicking at hearing Julie is getting ready to leave.

"I'll try, Adam, but she's hurting pretty bad and doesn't want to have much to do with you right now." Aaron had heard the entire conversation Adam had with the female and knows the truth. He hurts for Adam, he hurts too. Julie leaving will affect them all. Especially the children.

"I'm leaving as soon as I can arrange transportation. Prepare the cells, I'll be bringing a guest and others will be joining her. It's time the vampires remember that I'm king for more than just my looks." No one could see his eyes in that moment, but if they could they would be cowering in fear. For years Julie has had an ameliorating affect on him and the others, but in that instant he has once more become the  cold, heartless, beast he had once told Julie he was.

His people want a monster to be their king, then they will get a monster to be their king.
