In this part, I'll be sharing a lesson I learned from Jesus in a different way. Today, I'll be sharing a parable that Jesus told to me while I was on a road trip. I had left in the afternoon, when the sun was at it's highest point in the sky. When I arrived at my destination, the sun had set completely and the moon was slowly rising. During different parts of the trip, Jesus used the sun as an example in a parable he decided to tell me.

I stared out the clear window of the car, with a bored expression on my face. The sun was high in the sky, when Jesus told me to look in the general area the sun was in. As I looked, Jesus told me that the sun shining above me was a representation of how we see Jesus shining in our lives.

We often have moments in our lives where we feel peaceful and close to Jesus, just like how the light of the sun is present at all times. The light of Jesus allows for us to rest, without worrying about the evil in the world or the obstacles we face. However, we must not forget where this light comes from, since without Jesus, we have no light to keep us safe. When we experience these calm moments of peace, we must remember that it comes from Jesus and experiencing His light is the best way to grow.

As I continued down the seemingly endless road towards our destination, I noticed that the sun had began to set. The sky had began to fade from light blue to pink, then to purple. The sun had began to sink into the ground, disappearing from my view. Again, Jesus spoke to me and continued to teach me.

Jesus told me that even though the sun had began to set, it would never truly go away. The sun would always be here, and no worldly force could prevent it from rising again. This is incredibly similar to how the presence of Jesus never truly goes away. Nothing in the world can separate us from His unfailing love and His truly awesome presence. Jesus is always willing to hear our concerns and our fears, even when we think He is too busy for us or mad at us for a past sin.

We should rid ourselves of the silly thoughts, since they do nothing but drive a wedge that separates us from Jesus in our mind. So when the sun sets, we don't have to be afraid, since we know that it is always there and won't go away. Just like how Jesus never goes away when we face trouble or difficult situations.

As I grew close to the final destination, the moon had risen and the sky had blackened. To end the story, Jesus lifted my eyes to the moon and the vast blanket of stars dotting the sky. Jesus told me that even when the sun seems absent in our lives, I should not lose hope or faith. Jesus makes Himself more present when we face obstacles that we can't overcome by ourselves. We can see the moon more clearly than the sun, just like how we can see the actions of Jesus during dark times than bright times. Instead of fearing the darkness and the worries it brings, we should remember that Jesus isn't absent from our lives. These worries and fears allow Jesus to show us his power and love for us.

Every single drop of faith we have in Jesus is similar to a star in the sky. When strung together, they create a blanket of hope that lights up the sky and drives the darkness away. Our prayers truly matter, since they add to the beautiful collection of stars that Jesus aligns for us. Our faith in Jesus allows Him to make the most impact on our lives.

From the beautiful cycles that occur throughout our daily lives, Jesus taught me a collection of vital lessons to understand and live by. My recommendation for you is to allow Jesus to speak to you. He can create life changing lessons out of the simplest and seemingly insignificant aspects of your life. Just open your ears to His wisdom and let Him guide you through His glorious teachings.
