Chapter 6
Jamie and his mom were driving me and Nathan to the dentist. Nathan had an appointment, and mom was too busy with work and everything so I had to bring him-- well, I have to come along. Even if my friend and his mom are driving my sibling, I can't put him in their hands, I'm still coming.
After awhile of boredom, we arrived. I told Jamie and his mom they could come along, but they decided to wait in the car.
"Hello. My brother has an appointment. His name is Nathan Turner." I told the lady at the counter. I signed a paper, filling in information and stuff.
After waiting for about-- twenty minutes, the dentist called his name.
"Nathan Turner."
I went in the room with him.
After cleaning his teeth and checking them, they told me he had zero cavities.
I returned to Jamie and his mom, afterwords.
"How was it?" Jamie asked.
"Sooooo fun," I replied, sarcastically.
Jamie's mom grinned, and we headed for my house.
"Janae, you're welcome to stay at our house. If it's alright with your mom." his mom said, making a turn to their house.
"Um, sure..let me call my mom and see if it's okay with her," I replied.
Mom?
Um, I was just wondering if I could stay at Jamie's house for a little bit?
Okay, mom. I'll be just fine, don't worry. Mrs. Miller suggested that I stay at there house for awhile.
Thanks, love you mom..
I hung up.
"She said it was fine with her-- you know, as long as I 'be careful' and be obedient."
"Great," Jamie smiled.
Jamie opened the door for me, but Nathan jumped ahead, turned around and laughed in my face, then ran off in their house.
I rolled my eyes.
Jamie's mom then walked in, not realizing I was trying to go in.
I sighed.
"Sorry," Jamie said.
I went in, along with Jamie.
"My mom made cookies, you and Nathan can have some."
We headed for the kitchen, and a guy stepped in front of me.
"Jamie, who's your friend?" he smirked.
Jamie smacked his forehead.
"I'm Janae," I smiled brightly at him.
"I'm Colt," he replied, "Jamie's big brother."
He had to add big.
"We were just getting some cookies. Scuse!" Nathan tried going in front of him.
"Sorry little dude, I ate them all."
"Oh my goodness!" Jamie said annoyed.
"It's not like I knew we had guests!"
Jamie brought me up to his room.
"Sorry 'bout that."
"It's fine." I laughed slightly, "do you think I'll recover from this?"
I told Jamie everything about my chance of walking again.
"Janae, this happened to you for a reason. No one knows if you'll recover, but you need to believe. Just Trust God and His Timing. I'm sure it'll all work out."
"I know I need to Trust God. But it's hard, you know? I go everyday like this, I just don't know if I'm ready for a change. What if I just won't be able to walk again? I don't want to get my hopes up for nothing."
"Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for Good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."
he replied, "That Bible Verse means everything will work out for the better, to those who love God."
"I know, Jamie. But I just don't want to be disappointed..."
"God Hears you when you Pray. He Hears all the Christians when they Pray. His Answer may not be what we want, but that just means it wasn't meant to be, or maybe it's not the right time." he said, "Janae, God Works in Mysterious Ways. You just have to put your Hope, Trust and Faith in Him."
"Thanks," I replied, "I do Believe in Jesus with all my Heart. I know His Timing is Perfect. I know He's got it all in control." I smiled at the thought.
Sometimes, I can't understand, or comprehend it. God has everything in Control. He has my life in His Hands. What a wonderful feeling to know, He Hears us, He holds our lives in His Hands, He Knows the future. He knows exactly what's going to happen.
___
After awhile, I went back home along with Nathan. Jamie and his mom drove me.
"Bye, Janae!" Jamie yelled as he drove off.
"Bye," I replied.
"Mom, I'm home!" I yelled, rolling through the door.
"Janae, sweetie. How was it?"
"What do you mean, 'how was it'? I was just at Jamie's house."
"I know. It's just, you haven't made friends since Sam died, and I want you to be able to feel like you have someone with you."
Why the short mom talks? Why is it always about Sam?
"I do have Someone with me, and He's by my side all the time," I smiled.
That Someone is Jesus... He's the best Friend anyone could have.
