Chapter 5
Skye and I were at the park, we were 'rolling around the trail.' I suppose you could say, 'rolling' since we can't walk.
"So, Jamie."
"What about him?" I asked.
"Do you like his looks?" she smirked.
"What kind of question is that?" I asked, annoyed.
"A good one."
I rolled my eyes.
"I don't even know him. Don't you dare try to hook me up with him. I don't know him at all."
"I never asked you if you liked him, I asked you if you liked his looks!"
"He's- well, he's-" I had no idea how to answer that.
"Cute?" she laughed.
"Skye!!" I said annoyed and tried to get ahead of her in my wheelchair.
"Okay, I'll stop-"
"Thank you."
"...for now." she grinned.
I rolled my eyes once again.
"See you later."
"Bye."
I met up with Jamie at McDonalds.
"Janae? Uh, hey."
"Hey. Can you believe Skye? She's asking me if I like your looks." What did I just say?! Did I seriously just tell him she asked me if I liked his looks?
He smirked, "Well, do you?"
"...Excuse me?"
"Do you like my looks?" he asked, still smirking.
"Jamie..."
"I like yours," he said still smirking, "you're gorgeous, Janae. I know we haven't known each other long, at all, but I like your attitude. I like everything about you. You're amazing," he smiled instead of smirking that time.
"Uh, uh," I said, then spoke fast, "yeah, okay, maybe I do.."
"What was that?" he smirked.
"Jamie," I sighed, and kinda laughed.
He put his hand to his ear, acting like he didn't hear me, "can you repeat that?"
"Ugh, Jamie! Stop!" I couldn't help but laugh at the awkwardness.
"You're fun to mess with," he said.
"Seriously??" I said.
Now this is awkward.
I already know he likes me-- I think,-- wait, does he??
Ugh.
"Here, I'll order and pay for our food."
"Really Jamie? Really?" now he wants to pay for my food? Ugh.
"Sure, my treat," he smiled, "be right back.."
After we ate and talked for a little bit, I told him I should go, so I left.
___
"Hey mom," I said.
"Hello sweetheart. How has your day been so far?"
"Good, I guess. Why?"
"Well, is Skye replacing Sam? I mean, you and Sam were really close, and now you and Skye are. What's going on? Sam was your best friend, I just don't think you should forget about her."
"Mom, Sam will always live on in my heart. You know how complicated everything is right now. Skye is just my new friend, she won't replace Samantha," I replied, "anyways, do you think I'll recover from this? You know what the doctors said."
"Janae, I hope she doesn't. Because I know Sam wouldn't replace you, and I've been through something similar to what you're going through. I know it isn't easy," she replied, "honey, only God Knows if you'll Recover. He Knows what the future Holds, and He's gonna be with you every step of the way."
"Thanks mom! And I will never forget about Sam, she was my best friend. She died when I was ten, and she was nine," my eyes filled with tears at the memories of Samantha.
"Aw, Janae. Don't worry, you'll see her again," mom said.
"I know," I sniffed, "but she was my best friend- she was like my sister. Mom," she hugged me while I bawled.
"It's okay," she replied.
I went outside and cried, while talking to Jesus.
"Lord, Sam was my best friend. I know it was just her time to go, and I Trust You are taking care of her, and there's no more tears being shed by her. No more ache, or sorrow. Thank you, and please give me Peace."
I also talked to Him about my wheelchair, and everything.
"Jesus, you know how I feel about this whole wheelchair situation. Is there a solution for this? I need a Miracle, a Healing. Please! I need You to Move in my life. Thank you for Guiding me through it all."
After awhile, I felt so peaceful.
I asked God to give me Peace, and He helped me to not be torn apart by any of this pressure that's on me.
I'm just glad God's got it all in control.
