Chapter 11
I shot up from my bed. Skye was getting checked out of the hospital today! I grabbed something from my desk, and began searching for mom. "Mom!" I hollered.
"Good morning to you too!" she laughed, "What's up?"
I strolled over to mom, who sat on the sofa in the living room. "Skye is getting checked out of the hospital today! Can we go see her? Please?"
"Sure." replied mom.
"Great! I'll be out in the car."
A short time after I got in the car, mom came. "I hope she's feeling better." mom said.
"I hope she is better. I can't wait to see her!"
"That's something I love about you Janae," mom laughed.
"What?" I cocked my head to the side like a confused puppy.
"You're always there for your friends, supporting them, making them feel-" mom paused as she glanced into the front mirror, "whatcha got there?" she saw the little box I had taken from my desk.
"Oh, um," I began, "it's just something I want to give her."
Mom probably wondered why I was giving her a box, but there's something in it. And mom will find out once we reach the hospital.
"Oh, ok." she replied, confused. I suppose she wanted a clear answer.
We arrived. I got out of the car, and off I went. I turned around. "Mom, you coming?"
"No, no. You go. I'll wait for you out here, don't take too long. And tell Skye I said 'hello' and I hope she feels better soon." she replied.
I nodded, and went in. I asked the nurse where Skye's room was, and soon, I found her room.
"Knock, knock, knock!" I said as I knocked on the door slightly, "- can I come in?"
"Who are you?"
"I'm everyone, but no one." I knew she was joking, so I went along with it.
She laughed, "Come in, Janae."
"I have something for you. Oh, and my mom says hello, and she hopes you feel better soon."
"Tell her thanks, and I'm already feeling a little bit better. Now, what do you have for me?" she asked anxiously, as she reached for the box.
"Open it." I handed the box to her, and she pulled out a bracelet I made for her, and a light blue Bible case. I knew she needed one. It had a verse on it, her favorite verse.
"Aw! Thanks so much!" she hugged me.
"Anytime," I replied, "how are you and Jamie...?"
"We're the same. Best friends, crazy," she laughed, "a little accident isn't going to ruin our friendship."
"That's great," I smiled, "well, I better get back to my mom. See ya tomorrow!"
"Okay, bye!!" she waved as I strolled out of the room.
-- Back at Janae's house --
I was in my room, all I need is one more step until I reach my desk.
I walked (slowly) from my bed, to my desk. Yes! I made it. I'm not slowing down. Nothing is stopping me now. I walked at a normal pace from my desk, back to my bed. I shocked myself. I DID IT! This is amazing! I did it! I walked around my room like a crazy person, then headed for mom's room. "Mom! I did it! I'm walking!" I exclaimed.
"Janae! You're doing it! I can't believe it!" she shouted out of excitement.
"This is one of my biggest achievements!" I laughed. I was filled with such joy.
After mom and I talked a lot about my "achievement," as I like to call it, I walked back up to my room, and got on my knees.
"Dear Jesus, thank you for this Wonderful Miracle! You Healed me. I know it was You, Lord! You did this! I'm so grateful, thank You so much for helping me walk again. This is a big life change for me, and I know you brought me through my heartache. Thank You Lord! In Jesus' Name, AMEN!"
I was so grateful. This was absolutely one of the best things that has ever happened to me! It was a horrible experience-- trial, but He brought me through! "Thank You Jesus!" I could say it a thousand times and never get tired of it! He has Helped me with so much! All I can say is, Thank You Jesus!!
