Jericho gripped the daises tighter in his hand as he entered the restaurant, his eyes landing on the sister he didn't want to see. With an annoyed expression, the billionaire made his way up the stairs, before Lillian could get any ideas about talking to him.

The door that led to the apartment was swung open and Jericho was met with Daisy's shining blue eyes.

"Daisy." He smiled at her, handing her the pink daises.

Daisy had a shy smile on her face as she took the flowers from his hand, their fingers brushing against one another. "Thank you, Jericho."

Jericho couldn't resist, after not seeing Daisy for almost two weeks, he leaned down and kissed her sweetly. Their date night had finally come and he couldn't have been happier. Daisy's lips were soft and warm, the smell of vanilla surrounding them, as she held the flowers in between them. Jericho had his hand on her back and the other on her neck, bringing her closer.

Despite Daisy's slightly tremble and the innocent touch of her lips, Jericho felt himself falling deeper into the kiss. Daisy was like a drug and Jericho was slowly becoming addicted. The first kiss between them was great but this was even better.

High-heeled footsteps traveling up the stairs made Daisy pull away from the kiss. Lillian glanced at the both of them, her thin arms crossed over her chest a disbelieving look on her face.

"You've got to be joking. Are you two a thing now?" Lillian asked, a fierce glare on her pretty face.

"Mind your own business." Jericho retorted.

Lillian ignored Jericho, and placed her hand on Daisy's shoulder. "My sloppy seconds, really Daisy?" But then again you've always wanted what I've already had. I shouldn't even care, it's not like this is going to work out."

Daisy shrugged off Lillian's hand, but remained silent, her eyes downcast.

"How can you even stand her? She's so stupid!" Lillian shook her head, looking at her step sister with disgust.

Jericho could feel the anger rising in him. "And you are stupid enough to think that I care what you have to say."

"Whatever. Have fun on your date, that is if Daisy can even get a word out without stuttering." Lillian, walked into the apartment, knocking shoulders with Daisy as she did.

"L-let me just put these f-flowers in a vase and then we can g-go." Daisy said quietly, walking into the apartment with Jericho behind her.

They stepped into Daisy's small room, but Jericho didn't understand Daisy's calm behavior.

"Why do Lillian and Jeffrey treat you like that?" Jericho asked seriously, while watching Daisy pull a vase from the top of her closet.

"I ... I don't k-know and if I d-did, it wouldn't be worth talking a-about." Daisy replied honestly. The girl had her assumptions for Jeffrey, but Lillian was just a bitch with a bitchy personality. But both of those things were just assumptions.

"I hate seeing them treat you like you're nothing." Jericho did hate seeing their behavior towards Daisy. He couldn't wrap his mind around the fact that they treated her as they did, and she never stood up for herself.

"Please, d-drop it." Daisy said quietly, before she left her bedroom to get water for the flowers Jericho had bought her.

Accepting her request, Jericho sighed quietly and took a glance around Daisy's room. He had been distracted before, but now he could see just how small her room was. It was smaller than his bathroom and it made him cringe.

With his hands stuffed in the pockets of his dark jeans, he walked over to her cluttered desk. Books, two picture frames, an old laptop and a vintage lamp were on the small wooden desk. The first picture was of a young Daisy, as she danced in the rain.

Smiling to himself, Jericho glanced at the other one; a woman and Daisy eating ice cream in a backyard. Daisy had a huge grin on her face just as the woman did, who Jericho thought to be her mother, despite there being no resemblance.

"Is that your mother?" Jericho glanced at Daisy as she walked back into her room.

She smiled and nodded softly, glancing at the picture with Jericho.

"Where is she?" It was weird for Jericho to be asking about his date's family. Normally he could care less about anyone's family, if they weren't a client or a friend. Yet, once again Jericho found himself wanting to know more about Daisy, because over the course of the past two weeks he had realized he didn't want just a fast fuck. Jericho wanted Daisy in a way he had only wanted one woman before.

"My mother ... lives in the n-next town over." Daisy replied, this time avoiding the pictures as she slipped on a brown scarf.

"Do you go to visit her?" He watched Daisy, noticing her outfit for the first time.

She was dressed in a pair of brown boots, dark jeans and an oversized cream sweater and a matching scarf. Her long hair was pulled into a neat bun, and her face showed no sign of makeup. Jericho thought she looked really nice in her more feminine outfit, but he admired her in her baggy attire too.

Being a lawyer, Jericho was observant and he noticed Daisy's hesitation before she answered his question.

"She's in jail." Daisy had her back turned to Jericho as she said that.

Jericho raised his eyebrows slightly surprised, but other than that her small confession didn't seem to affect him negatively. "I'm sorry."

"Yeah, ... a-are you read to go ... or we d-don't have to go anymore if y-you don't wan't-"

Jericho shook his head, a charming smile on his lips. "Of course I want to go on this date with you. I've been waiting nearly three weeks and I'm not letting anything take this opportunity away from me."

Daisy glanced up at Jericho and gave him a shy but cute smile. "Where are we going?"

Jericho followed Daisy down the stairs and out of the restaurant. "It's cliché, but I think you'll like it."

The smell of sweets, hot dogs, pizza, popcorn and cotton candy surrounded the duo as they walked along the boardwalk in the midst of the popular carnival. Flashing lights and different songs playing, with the sound of people laughing, talking and screaming with joy truly gave off the carnival atmosphere.

The carnival rides ranged from children's rides to pipeline rollercoasters with triple loops. There were many booths; food booths, game booths, and even multiple kissing booths.

Jericho and Daisy had been on very few rides in the past hour and now they stood inline for the biggest rollercoaster at the carnival. Jericho had his hand on Daisy's lower back, guiding her as they moved up the line. Almost the whole night Jericho had kept his hand on Daisy, not only to guard off other men but also because the carnival was packed with people, groups of rowdy teens and the occasional crazy drunk.

"Are you scared?" Jericho chuckled, as the metal bar secured them into their plastic red seats.

Daisy laughed quietly, a relaxed smile on her face. "No. Are you?"

"Nope." Jericho leaned back more in his seat, face turned towards Daisy.

Daisy was glancing at Jericho too and here and there her eyes would flicker to his lips. He wanted more than to kiss her again, but this was their first date. He didn't want Daisy getting the wrong idea, jumping to conclusions that he was just another rich bachelor.

Daisy had been smiling since they got to the carnival, and Jericho was glad he chose this scene for their date. At first he wanted to take her out on an expensive yacht dinner, but that seemed like too much for a first date. On a yacht they'd also be alone and he doubted Daisy would feel completely at ease.

The rollercoaster started to slowly move forwards, before dropping down with speed. Jericho and Daisy were laughing and smiling as the ride moved with quick speed turning into loops, dropping lower and going into curves. During the two minute ride Jericho found himself holding Daisy's hand and she had made the move to intertwine their fingers.

As the rollercoaster came to an end, the metal bar lifted and Jericho and Daisy as well as the other people got out of the ride and moved down the exit.

Daisy still had her small hand grasped in Jericho's, a small grin on her face. Jericho felt more relaxed knowing that she wasn't the severe shy girl he thought she was. Daisy responded to the moves Jericho initiated and that was a great sign.

"Do you want to grab a bite?" Jericho asked, as they walked away from the rollercoaster.

Daisy nodded her head, and blushed when she glanced up at Jericho to meet his charming gaze.

"Pizza, hot dogs or funnel cake or French fries?

"Always Pizza." Daisy smiled.

"Meat lovers or Hawaiian?" Jericho questioned. He loved pizza too and the topping was always meat lovers. Jericho hated Hawaiian pizza. Hawaiian pizza was not real pizza; fruit did not belong on pizza.

Daisy didn't even have to think about it. "Hawaiian."

Jericho came to a stop, a playful but disbelieving look on his face.

Daisy laughed, her cheeks pink. "... W-what?"

"I hate Hawaiian pizza." Jericho explained, pulling Daisy closer into his chest. He leaned down and kissed her blushing cheeks, then her neck. His breath was hot against her neck and Daisy shivered with pleasure. "But for you I'll pretend it isn't the nastiest pizza topping."

Daisy was breathless and when Jericho pulled back, the girl was blushing more than she had been the whole night. Jericho was leaning towards her lips this time, her faint whisper making him chuckle.

"K-ketchup or Mustard?"

"Mustard." Jericho chuckled, as they continued their path to the food stand as if they hadn't been seconds from kissing. "What about you?"

"Definitely Ketchup." Daisy giggled at Jericho's expression.

"Red or Blue?" Jericho asked, unconsciously rubbing his thumb along the back of her hand.

Daisy blushed as people watched them. They weren't doing anything outrages, only talking as they walked hand in hand, but that seemed to catch the attention of a few people. Once she had even noticed a man taking a few pictures of them, who smiled when Daisy made eye contact with him.

"Blue." Daisy replied, leaning into Jericho's side when she noticed more people looking.

"Red." Jericho disagreed, his voice deeper and less playful as he noticed the onlookers too.

Gently guiding Daisy away from the prying people, Jericho led them to a quiet corner. "I'm Jericho Maverick, young billionaire and well known lawyer. People looking and taking pictures is a normal part of my life. And if we continue this, us, you'll be a part of my life and occasionally in the press. What we do behind doors will always stay between us, but outdoors it's different. People will stare and jump to conclusions that aren't always true. I just want you to understand why there are people looking and sneaking pictures of us."

He stared at her blank face, a twinge of fear creeping up his spine. Daisy was a shy girl with social fears. Jericho was the opposite. Would Jericho's social fame become the problem why he didn't get the sweet girl named Daisy?

A longer chapter and this is just part one of their date. Next chapter will continue. They are not just different on the outside or background wise, but their likes and dislikes are opposites too.

Carnival first date?

More about Daisy's mother in the next chapter.

Chemistry between Jericho and Daisy?

Jericho's small speech at the end?

Has my writing improved since the hybrid?

I'm working on the next chapter for THE NEXT ALPHA, but I'm not sure if I can get it done by tonight. I sent out a small message explaining my current "writing state".
