Ch.30 Dive Right In (UNEDITED)
So don't call me baby
Unless you mean it
Don't tell me you need me
If you don't believe it
So let me know the truth
Before I dive right into you
Jericho held Daisy to his chest, wishing he could take Daisy's pain away. This was never supposed to happen. The lies, the deception, the warrant - Daisy wasn't cut out for this life and Jericho only wished her everything but.
"We should go back in there." Daisy pulled away as she wiped at her tears, slightly puffing out her cheeks, before smiling awkwardly. "I'll give them my DNA but this is crazy, right? Jericho, tell me this is too crazy to be true."
Jericho leaned down and kissed her forehead. "Whatever comes of this, just know that I'm not running away again. I want to be by your side through this all."
Daisy actually smiled this time, softly cupping Jericho's jaw. "You didn't run away. You needed support that nobody could give you here."
"And now you need support and I'm here." Jericho replied with confidence. "Lets go."
The two entangled from each other's arms, bracing themselves before making their way back into the open living room. The room was silent, as the couple sat down, hands intertwined. The doctor began to pull out his supplies, the other two men standing off to the side.
"How long until you get the results back?" Asked Jericho, watching while the doctor swabbed the inside of Daisy's cheek.
"About a week. You'll receive a phone call from me or one of the detective's were working with." Cooper's lawyer replied smugly, as if he knew the results of the test already.
The rest of the procedure fell silent again, the only sound coming from Lennox as he hummed playing with his doll beside the coffee table. As soon as the doctor was finished Jericho didn't hesitate to escort them to the elevator. Daisy remained on the couch, only wishing the young boy and his father a nice weekend.
Jericho grabbed two glasses of water, before returning to the couch. He handed Daisy a glass, afterwards wrapping his arm around her shoulder. He wasn't good at comforting so he continued to hold Daisy against his side. Slowly, he could feel her tense shoulders relax under his touch, strengthening his grip as she fully leaned into him.
"Do you think my mother could have had twins and not have told me? If so why did Tori grow up with a different family? My mother would have never split us up. She wasn't like that Jericho, she truly wasn't." Daisy's voice trembled and her gaze was distant, but she held on tighter to Jericho, enjoying his warm, soothing touch.
"For all we know Cooper could be lying." Jericho started, "But honestly, I'm not sure. It almost seems too crazy to be true. However, I don't want you to doubt your instincts. Let's just wait until we get the results back before we worry our heads over it. Whatever may be, we're in this together ..., of c-course if you'll have me. I mean no pressure. Just know that I'm here."
Daisy chuckled softly, enjoying Jericho's rambling. She turned her head, making eye contact with Jericho. "I want you and I want us, I thought I made that clear last night."
Jericho leaned in, closing his mouth over Daisy's in a soft kiss. Brushes of soft lips and tongues, breaths mingling, Jericho guided Daisy back into a horizontal position, holding himself above her. He leaned back so he could look into her dark blue eyes, her pupils blown. "Promise me, whatever happens between us, we'll be honest to one another. I need to know before I dive right into you, into this."
Daisy wrapped her slender arms around Jericho's neck pulling him in for another tantalizing kiss. Her cheeks flushed, she whispered her promise.
.
Jericho and Daisy had remained in the loft all day, the sun long gone and the bright lights of the city shining through the beige curtains. They had simply comforted each other, whilst discussing lighter topics. Currently They were occupying the kitchen island, as they finished their take out.
"So have you heard from Lilian since the hospital?" Jericho asked. He moved to throw out their food containers, before returning to Daisy, as he stood between her open thighs. Hands on her thighs, he waited for her answer.
"She was really mad about the situation with Jeffree. I think she just needs some time." Daisy smiled up at Jericho, hands around his waist. "She's staying with her friend, until we get a place to stay. The restaurant pretty much burned down to the ground."
Jericho hummed in acknowledgement. "If we're truly serious about us, we can find our own place. I mentioned it last night, but I wasn't sure if you just saying OK because. And until Lillian gets a place of her own, she can stay with us ... of course if she doesn't mind the sex sounds we'll be making. We might have to buy her noise canceling headphones." He chuckled at the end.
"Is that so?" Daisy laughed, clearly at ease.
"Do you want a demonstration?" Jericho asked, a thick eyebrow raised.
"I think I'm good for right now, but soon."
The blush that covered Daisy's cheeks made Jericho smile. He couldn't resist kissing her soft lips.
"When do you have to go back about your ankle?" Jericho let his fingers skim lightly over the bruised and swollen joint.
Daisy thought about it for a minute. "I'm not really sure. The doctor simply wrapped it and said to stay of my feet for a week and a half. Which I'm doing poorly, might I add."
Jericho had a slight frown, before he lifted Daisy off the counter, carrying her bridal style towards his bedroom. "I guess I'll need to carry you around the loft."
Daisy didn't struggle against him, letting herself relax in his arms. "Thank you Jericho, for being you."
"It's me and you, baby."
.
Jericho slept rough, tossing and turning, before getting up around five thirty to take a hot shower. The steam was fogging up the bathroom, water droplets rolling down the glass wall. He had just finished shampooing his hair, when the glass door to the shower opened. There stood a naked Daisy, her dark hair framing her face, as she gave him the sweetest of smiles despite her red rimmed eyes. "Can I join?"
"Come here." Jericho pulled Daisy into his arms, their naked bodies sharing warmth under the hot spray of water. They shared a slow kiss, Daisy's lips trembling as she said her next words.
"I think I need to get tested for the HCMS. If my mother died of it and supposedly Tori ... I need to know if I'm going to die soon."
