Ch.28 Coco In The Morning (UNEDITED)

And you can see my heart, beating

Now you can see it through my chest

Said I'm terrified but I'm not leaving

I know that I must pass this test

So just pull the trigger

Continuing from the last chapter ...

"I might be out of line here, ... b-but what were you hoping to achieve by flying to Switzerland?" Daisy asked, focusing on Jericho's soothing touch, as he caressed her knuckles with the pad of his thumb.

Jericho nervously licked his lips, unsure whether he should go into detail after just rekindling with Daisy. She was pure and innocent her life shouldn't be tarnished by the demons in Jericho's head. But deciding it was best to tell Daisy the complete truth after telling so many lies, Jericho pecked Daisy on her cheek, before settling back against the armrest of the couch.

"It's a long story. I don't even know where I should start ..."

"At the beginning perhaps." Daisy replied, a cheeky smile on her face, as heat rushed to her bruised cheeks. "

Jericho actually laughed, silver eyes twinkling as he rubbed his beard with thought. He had fallen silent for a few minutes, muscles visibly tense as he flashed Daisy a forced smile. "The depression and PTSD started within weeks after Tori's death, the guilt of it all had reduced my happiness in life. I think it was more the fact that Cooper had done it ... murdered her, my own brother. That's not something you ever expect ..."

Daisy could only nod in understanding, squeezing Jericho's hand in comfort. "Of course not. Losing two people you care for in the same night is horrible. Do you know why he did that? W-were they having an affair or something similar?"

Jericho's lip twitched, anger pulsing through his veins at the mere thought. Cooper was a playboy but he'd never go against the bro code. "No, they were close but it was platonic. Even so, I trust that Cooper would have told me or that Tori would have broken it off with one of us."

Daisy didn't say anything to that, she couldn't. She had never met either one of them, so who was she to judge their character?

"Anyways, I started seeing a therapist shorty after that, who diagnosed me with PTSD and Trauma induced depression. I got a good ounce of my life back, weeks after taking the meds, became the biggest workaholic for  the most part."

Daisy had a surprised look on her face, blue eyes searching Jericho's face as if to see his mental illness printed on his forehead. He looked perfectly healthy, inside- and out. It was hard to believe such a charming, seemingly perfect man on the outside was truly unhappy on the inside.

Jericho smiled, leaning across the space between them to kiss Daisy softly, before settling back against the armrest. "It's not that bad, the depression I mean. I had a quick moment of vulnerability, a relapse, but I'm recovering."

Glancing away, Daisy began to fidget, wringing her hands roughly. "It's not because of this, r-right?" She motioned between them, hands trembling.

Jericho took her hands in his own, long fingers caressing soft knuckles, afterwards kissing her fingertips. "It'd be so easy to lie, to tell you it has nothing to do with you, but it does, just not the way you think."

Daisy bit the inside of her cheek, finally making eye contact with the man she loved. "I don't want to hurt you."

Jericho couldn't resist. He caressed Daisy's neck, thumb brushing over the shell of her ear, before locking his lips with hers. The kiss was soft and sweet, Jericho's breath tickling Daisy's lips. Their eyes locked, and Jericho gave Daisy the most charming smile he could muster. With a soft whisper, Jericho muttered words that had Daisy's stomach churning with butterflies. "Loving each other won't hurt us."

"Jericho..."

Readying to kiss her senseless, Jericho leaned forwards, gently touching their foreheads together, but that simple movement made Daisy flinch, fingers clutching near her hairline.

"Shit, I'm sorry." Jericho rushed out, reaching forwards to take a look at the stitched cut, that had been previously covered by her hair.  Pressing a kiss to her forehead, Jericho gave Daisy a concerned look. "A house fire doesn't cause gashes like these. What happened?"

"Jeffrey." Daisy simply said, sudden sadness creeping up on her as she thought about Jeffrey's reasoning for all the trouble he had gone through. "He wants complete ownership of the restaurant and he became violent trying to get it."

"Did you report him?" Jericho questioned, his lawyer instincts kicking in. "Did they have someone take pictures of your wounds, document your injuries? Did you have a chance to contact your own lawyer? You are going to need to file a restraining order. I -"

"Jericho, I-I'm a big girl I can handle this ..." Daisy smiled, despite the shakiness in her voice und the uncertainty in her words.

Jericho nodded his head, silently agreeing to drop the subject. "If there is anything I can help with, you know I'm here for you. "

Daisy actually laughed, reaching for Jericho's hand again. "C-could you use a ... roommate?"

Jericho grinned, tracing Daisy's jawline with a whisper of a touch while his silver eyes danced with happiness. "Daisy, if you are going to be my roommate, you'll have to come house hunting with me next week."

"You're moving?"

Jericho laughed at the look on Daisy's face, afterwards pecking her softly. "I want to move into a more quiet neighborhood, something more secluded with a lot of privacy. I think it will benefit our relationship, as well as us not being in the public eyes so much. What do you think?"

"Moving in together into a new home?" Daisy asked, heat rushing to her cheeks.

"Yeah." Jericho confirmed. "It'd be our home. We can start new, without all this drama."

"I think drama follows us everywhere, but that does sound nice." Daisy swallowed the nerves, secretly hoping they weren't moving too fast.

That couple sat there for another hour, just talking about everything and anything, most of it light stuff though. After feeling the sleepiness kick in, Jericho had carried Daisy up into the bedroom, laying her down on his bed for the first time. They both got comfortable, before Jericho switched off the lamp on his bed side table. Spooning against each, legs intertwined, Jericho peppered kisses against Daisy's bruised shoulder.

"Daisy?"

"Yeah?" Came her quiet whisper.

"You really mean a lot to me and I truly never intended to hurt you, not at the beginning and not when I left for Switzerland. I was falling apart because I wasn't coming to terms with the fact that I love you, but I do and I know that now."

Daisy turned in Jericho's arms, her lips locking with his in a heated kiss, her fingernails pressed against his tattooed chest. She could feel his heart racing under his smooth skin, her own pounding probably just as fast as his. This is all she could ever want.

...

"Coco! You're back!" Came a loud yell, before a bundle of energy jumped on the king sized bed, landing directly on Daisy, making the girl groan in pain, as she peeked a look at a confused Lennox.

"Who let you in?" Jericho groaned, while lifting the boy off of Daisy.

"Are you ok, baby?" Jericho caressed Daisy's cheek, careful not to touch the gash near her hairline.

Daisy simply nodded her head, her face flushing with Jericho's choice of endearment.

"Are you guys dating again?" Lennox bounced on the bed, this time in the middle, avoiding the limbs covered by the blanket.

"Did you wake me up? Jericho asked in return, a smile on his face, despite the rumble in his voice.

"Yes?" Lennox answered, pulling at one of his brown curls.

"There's your answer kiddo."

Lennox looked more than confused, his brows furrowed. "Anyways ... Daddy is here with two men.  He said for me to come get you."

"Two men?" Jericho asked, slipping out of bed while throwing on a shirt.

"Uhmmm, I think he said a doctor and Bob Schneider or something like that ..."

Jericho visibly tensed, gripping his hair he tried to calm his breathing.

"Who's Bob?" Daisy asked, kneeling on the edge of the bed, so she could lay a comforting hand on his back.

"Coopers lawyer."

.......

Sorry for the longest wait ever. I'm truly sorry!!
