Out of the seven billion people in this world, there's only you.
Almost a million words that I could say, but none of them will do.
So many years that I have lived, but it feels like I've just begun.
Out of the seven billion people, baby, you're the only one
I'll be staying with Carol for the next few weeks. -Lillian
Daisy read the text, a sigh of relief puffing from her lips. She hadn't seen her sister since the early morning and it was now late in the evening. The whole day Daisy had hoped to see Lillian again after their argument but both sisters were stubborn and apparently neither had changed their mind about the situation with Jeffrey. It was too late anyways.
Two detectives had stopped by the hospital that afternoon, to question Daisy about the fire at the restaurant. The timid girl had recalled Jeffrey's confession and the events that followed after. Lillian could love Jeffrey all she wanted, but what he did could never be corrected in Daisy's eyes. The brunette wasn't a spiteful person, yet she did wish for Jeffrey to rot in prison.
The detectives had assured Daisy that they'd be looking for Jeffrey and they'd contact her as soon as something new came up in the case. Not to mention the insurance company would also contact her due to the immense damage of the restaurant. The detectives had also mentioned that unfortunately not one single item had been able to be recovered. The damage was that severe.
"Do you need us to call you a cab?" The male nurse asked, as he watched Daisy sign the release form.
"Uh, n-no thank you." Daisy replied, her eyes locked onto the paper in front of her. Signing the last paragraph, Daisy handed the clipboard back to the guy.
"Are you sure, it looks like it's going to rain?"
Daisy shook her head, before pulling the hood of her black sweater over her head, fingers tucking in her black hair so that only her face was visible. "I'm fine."
With a frown on his face the male nurse hugged the clipboard to his chest, taking a few steps backward. "Alright, safe trip home."
Home. If only she could go home.
Daisy left the hospital, a slight limp in her walk due to her sprained ankle that was currently wrapped in an ace bandage. Her injuries were minor and the doctors had seen no further reason to keep her there another night.
Daisy began to aimlessly walk down the streets of Santa Monica, her foot aching step after step. Pulling out her phone, the only item she owned at this point, she dialed Phaison's number. Two rings later she heard the sound of his voice, heavy moaning coming from his end of the line.
"Fuck, don't stop .... uhhh Lincoln baby! Daisy, bad time right now, c-call me ... fuck, harder baby! Call me back later..."
Daisy's face heated up, before she stuffed her phone back in her pocket. Clearly the slender boy was busy, his moans replaying in Daisy's head. Even though the sounds that came from the phone were slightly disturbing, it still warmed Daisy's heart to know that Phaison and Lincoln were in a healthy relationship. The men had been dating for nearly two years now. Lincoln a club owner with tattoos and bulging arms, and Phaison the flamboyant twink.
They were complete opposites, but somehow they had made it work. Daisy had never seen Pi as happy as when he was with Lincoln. His eyes would twinkle, a big grin on his face and the love for Lincoln clearly visible on his face.
Daisy wanted that. She wanted that so bad with Jericho. She wanted to feel content in his arms. She wanted him to look at her and love her for who she was, regardless if she looked similar to his ex. Daisy wanted Jericho like she had never wanted anyone else. It wasn't his money, his family name or even his good looks. Jericho was more than his public appearance. He was funny, he had an opinion, he knew how to stand up for himself, and most importantly he had flaws. He was more human than anyone else Daisy knew and that's why she loved him.
Daisy had always put others before herself in the past and it was finally time things changed. It was time for Daisy to take the first step for a second time, willing the relationship between her and Jericho to work out. It was time she finally fought for what she really wanted.
Walking as fast as she could go, she made her way to Jericho's loft building. The sudden sound of thunder and the strong downfall of rain making her more determined to reach the other side of town.
....
Jericho glanced out the window of his washroom, the loud sound of thunder making him flinch. Setting his eyes back on the load of laundry, he began to fold the women's cloths. The expensive items had belonged to Tori, and Jericho had kept them in boxes for the longest time. But seeing Cooper that day had somehow sparked Jericho to finally move on from Tori. Not like he previously thought he had, but to really rid himself of any reminders. The reason for him washing all her clothes, with the intention of donating them. The boxed pictures of Tori would be offered to the Smith's in the up coming days and after that Jericho was ready to move locations.
The sudden sound of his ringing phone made him jump, before he ran into the living room to snatch his phone. "Jericho Maverick."
"Did you mean what you said at the hospital?" Daisy's voice was soft, she sounded out of air.
Jericho felt the familiar warmth in his stomach, right hand gripping his phone tighter. "Of course, Daisy."
Why was she calling this late? It's nearly a quarter after ten, Jericho thought as he glanced at the clock on top of the elevator doors. "Daisy, what's wrong?"
"Jericho, I-I want you. I want us ..."
Before Jericho could get any type of response out, the line went dead and then the elevator doors opened, revealing a soaking wet Daisy. Without thinking Jericho took the needed steps forwards, his arms encasing Daisy, as he pulled her close, lips slanting over hers.
The pair stood in the middle of room, kissing as if it were their last kiss shared together. Jericho cupped Daisy's head, his long fingers gripping her wet hair. Daisy had pushed up against Jericho, her own arms wrapping around Jericho's neck, as he lifted her higher, her slim legs wrapping around his waist, heat emitting from their bodies.
Jericho nibbled on her lower lip then deepened the kiss, stroking his tongue over hers. Daisy responded with her own hunger, cold fingertips pressing onto the warm skin of Jericho's neck, making him groan with pleasure. As he kissed her again, shivers of delight ran down his back, their hearts picking up pace and their breaths becoming short gasps as the continued to kiss.
"Daisy ..." Jericho sighed quietly, finally pulling back from the kiss, silver eyes capturing Daisy's bright blue ones. "Are you sure about us?"
Without hesitating, Daisy nodded softly, her pink lips quirking up into a beautiful smile. "I've never been this sure about anything else."
"Good, me neither." Jericho responded with his own smile, pecking Daisy quickly, he caressed her bruised cheek gently. "Why didn't you call me earlier? I would have come to pick you up."
Daisy shrugged her shoulders, a big grin on her flushed face. She couldn't stop smiling, as she simply gazed at her man. Jericho was hers.
....
"Is this fine?" Jericho asked, while handing Daisy a pair cotton shorts and a t-shirt, as she stood across from him in a towel.
After kissing just a little more, Jericho and Daisy had finally broken apart long enough for him to offer her a warm shower and dry clothes.
Daisy took the clothes from Jericho, but didn't make a move to put them on. Her smile dropped, as she really took a good look at the clothes. "A-are these ... her clothes?"
"Yeah." Jericho didn't see any point in lying. "I thought you'd be comfortable in something more your size. If it's too much, I can give you some of my clothes."
Daisy nodded her head, and Jericho shuffled around in his walk in closet before coming back out to hand her one of his long sleeved shirts and a pair of sweats. Jericho turned his back towards her as she got dressed, rubbing his hand over his beard. "I don't just have her clothes laying around the place. I was going to bring the boxes to the red cross as a donation. I should have realized that you wouldn't be comfortable in Tori's clothes. I -"
"It's fine Jericho." Daisy stopped his rambling, her arms going around his waist, as he turned in her arms, wrapping his own around her back. "I can't undue the past and ... I can't pretend that you never dated anyone else. You dated Tori, a woman who had similar looks to me, and I have come to terms with it ... or at least I'm trying too." Daisy confessed, her laugh shaky and almost forced.
Jericho appreciated the honesty and in return kissed her cheek. "If there is anything I can do to ease you into the process of acceptance then I'll do whatever. I meant what I said in the hospital. I'll tell you anything you want to know. Nothing is off limits if it will benefit our relationship."
Daisy took in Jericho's words as they moved back into the living room, cuddling up on the couch. Jericho was holding Daisy's hand, his thumb caressing over the pulse in her wrist. Daisy sat in between his outstretched legs, her own thrown across his right thigh, as she leaned on the back of the couch with her upper body.
Daisy and Jericho were smiling at each other and simply enjoying the intimate moment. After so much drama that had been going on, it finally felt good to relax, if even just for a night.
"How was Geneva?" Daisy asked, scooting closer to Jericho as it thundered quite loudly outside. "Did it help ...?"
Jericho kissed the tip of her nose, before he began to loosely tell her about the past six weeks.
