Ch.14 Living In A Bubble (UNEDITED)
"Did you know you talk in your sleep?"
Daisy blushed, gazing up at Jericho with wide eyes. "Oh no, d-did I say anything embarrassing?"
Jericho shrugged, as he played with a few strands of Daisy long hair that was sprawled over the pillow. He was laying on his side, his head propped up on his hand, a grin on his face.
"Nothing too weird." Jericho cupped her cheek, his thumb brushing over her high cheekbone. He lowered his face to hers, his lips now brushing over her pink tinted ears. "Just that you think I'm super hot, that I'm the best boyfriend ever. That I'm a great kiss-"
"You're lying!" Daisy laughed, pushing Jericho's face away as he nibbled on her ear lobe. "I didn't say those ... things."
Jericho hovered over her, his silver eyes bright. "I could make you say those things."
Daisy licked her lips, eyebrows raising just slightly. She was challenging Jericho. She wanted him to make her say those things.
"You're too sweet for your own good." Jericho whispered, before he pressed their lips together. He slanted his lips over hers, tasting her sweet hot mouth.
Daisy sucked in a breath, her body responding to the heated kiss. She timidly pulled him closer, allowing him to settle between her thighs, as he held himself above her. He found her throat and pressed his lips against the rapid beating of her pulse, kissing a path over her soft, sweet skin, tasting her. Daisy whimpered, turning her head to the side, surrendering her throat to Jericho, the heat of his lips raising goose bumps on her creamy skin, his masculine scent filling her head, the hard press of his body on top hers making her belly flutter.
"Breakfast is ready!" Pi swung the bedroom door open, smirking at the position he found Jericho and Daisy in. "Looks like you were both hungry, but not for food."
Jericho rolled off of Daisy, grunting in frustration as he lie on his back, using the pillow to cover his hard-on. Completely embarrassed, Daisy covered her red face.
"Don't stop on my behalf." Phaison walked into the room, closing the door behind him, before he sat at the foot of the bed. "Just pretend I'm not even here."
"Pi, please get out!" Daisy pleaded, not even glancing over at Jericho.
Why were her friends so embarrassing?! Jericho was probably fed up with Daisy and her childish friends, whishing he could go home already.
"Phaison Rivera Ngo, I'm serious." Daisy clenched the sheets in her hands, blue eyes begging Phaison to leave.
"I'm leaving already." He said, getting up from the bed both hands raised in surrender. "Oh, before I forget Tori and Ella want to talk to you. They're in Tori's bedroom."
Daisy nodded her head and watched as the slender Asian walked out of the room.
"We s-should get ready to leave." Daisy moved the sheets off of her body, turning her back to Jericho as she stood from the bed.
"I'm busy this afternoon, but do you want to have dinner tonight?" Jericho asked, the scene from moments ago not phasing him in the least. Or so he wanted Daisy to believe.
Daisy was grateful Jericho didn't seem upset about Pi ruining their morning. She smiled shyly at Jericho from over her shoulder. "I can't. Maybe sometime next week."
Jericho slipped on his clean pair of jeans, as well as a clean red shirt. "I'm off the whole week, so whenever works best for you."
Jericho pulled Daisy into a hug, his chin atop of her head. "Spending Thanksgiving with you was really nice."
Daisy hugged him back, the side of her face resting against Jericho's toned chest. They stood there for a few moments enjoying the comfortable silence, before knocking sounded on the bedroom door.
"Daisy, we need to talk." Victoria's voice drifted through the closed door.
"I'll be out in a minute." Daisy pulled away from Jericho, while Victoria's footsteps could be heard as she walked away.
"Do you want me to wait for you, so I can drive you home?" Jericho asked, his body suddenly tense as he packed his stuff together.
"I don't know what Victoria wants to talk about, so you can go ahead and leave." Daisy said, pulling at her baggy shirt she had slept in.
Jericho nodded, avoiding eye contact with Daisy. "I'm just going to brush my teeth real quick and then I'll be leaving."
He walked over to the en suite bathroom, his hand on the door handle, before he turned his head slightly to the side, hiding his expression. "You make me really happy Daisy. I'm glad were dating."
Daisy willed the heat in her cheeks to go down, as she watched Jericho step into the bathroom.
"I'll call you tonight." Jericho called through the bathroom door, before the sound of water drowned out anything else.
Quickly changing her clothes, Daisy made her way down the hall and into Victoria's room.
"What's up?" Daisy asked, sitting on the bed next to her two best friends.
Victoria pulled Daisy's hand into her own, intertwining their slim fingers. Her face expression was everything other than happy.
"Is the thing that you have with Jericho serious?" Ella asked, kissing her girlfriends cheek after seeing the conflict in Victoria's eyes.
Daisy nodded, her blue eyes darting from Ella to Victoria. "What's wrong? Do you think we're moving too fast? D-do ... do you not like him?"
"I'm worried he's intentions aren't pure. I think he's going to hurt you." Victoria finally spoke, her face serious as she waited for Daisy's response.
The room was silent, before Daisy jumped up from the bed, moving over to the window that had the view to the driveway.
"You don't know Jericho. You can't possibly know his intentions and he hasn't done anything to hurt me." Daisy gripped the windowsill, watching as said billionaire drove off of Victoria's property.
Daisy knew what this was about. She hadn't been the only one to see the interview and now they had painted their own picture of Jericho. It was enough that Daisy had doubted Jericho, but she didn't need her friends doubting him as well.
Jericho didn't like Daisy for her looks, he liked her personality. He had said so himself.
"You don't understand Daisy. He has a ... bad past. You look like his dead girlfriend. You look too much like her and I'm worried that's why he's dating you." Victoria explained, begging Daisy to understand.
"I ... I know I look like her." Daisy licked her lips, wringing her hands roughly, still not facing Victoria or Ella.
"You know and you are still together with him?!" Victoria was mad now, as she gripped Daisy's shoulders, making Daisy face her. "Daisy! You like him too much to realize that there is something wrong with him. Nobody tries recreating their dead ex! It's weird and unhealthy. He clearly isn't over her and he's using you because you look like her."
Daisy pushed Victoria's away, tears of anger pooling in her eyes. "You don't know him! And just because you are in a successful relationship doesn't mean you know anything about mine!"
Daisy hurried out of the Victoria's bedroom, locking herself in the guest room. She flopped onto the bed, warm tears running down her temples.
Victoria was wrong. She had to be wrong.

"How have you been Jericho?" Dr. Mason asked, her dark brown eyes assessing Jericho's calm statue, as he lay on the couch near the window.
Jericho had his eyes closed, and his hands folded over his stomach, his breathing calm. "I'm doing better."
"Better how?" Dr. Mason watched him closely.
Jericho turned his head, watching the older woman watch him. "I-I ... I'm happy."
Jericho had been seeing a shrink for four years, every week, one hour. Nobody knew and Jericho wanted to keep it that way.
"What's the cause of your happiness?"
Dr. Mason had twenty something years on Jericho, the wrinkles in her face almost unnoticeable. Her dark skin contrasted beautifully with her red lip stick.
Jericho closed his eyes again, a small smile making it's way onto his face. "I'm seeing someone."
"Jericho, are you speaking of Ms. Zamora?"
Jericho nodded softly.
"Your happiness is caused by the young lady?" Dr. Mason asked, scribbling a few lines down on her notepad.
"Yeah, Daisy's wonderful. We're good together." Jericho had his eyes closed. He could practically see Daisy's smile behind his eyelids.
"Jericho, do you think maybe your attraction to her is based off of the fact that she looks like Ms. Tori? I've seen the pictures and the two woman are very similar in appearance."
Jericho didn't respond. He could see pictures of Tori flashing in his mind. Her smile, her long dark hair, her big blue eyes, her melodic laugh, her beautiful petite body. A lump formed in Jericho's throat making it hard to swallow, his eyes burning behind his eyelids.
"Ms. Tori was your very first love. She meant everything to you and then she was taken away, without any warning." Dr. Mason began, watching as tears began to trail down Jericho's temples, his eyelashes wet. "You never got closure and that makes it hard to move on."
"You like Daisy, because she's physically a lot like Tori. They are so similar in just appearance, that your self conscious is trying to rebuild your old relationship."
Jericho shook his head. "No. You're wrong." His jaw was clenched, and the vain in his neck sticking out. He was growing angry.
"What you have with Daisy now, is not healthy. It may seem nice now, but it won't be. Jericho, you do not want to hurt her. You want to save her. You want to save Daisy, because you couldn't save Tori that night. But what will happen to you, if something happens to Daisy? It will be your downfall. You can't save everyone. Your relationship with her won't last. The first time you won't be able to help her, whether it be a small problem or something more serious, you'll be thrown back into that night. Reliving Tori's death each time you fail to save Daisy."
Jericho covered his ears, his eyes shut tightly, as the salty tears burned his cheeks. "Shut up! Shut up! You don't know what you're talking about!"
"Calm down Jericho." Dr. Mason watched Jericho break down. It had been the first sign that his relationship with Daisy, really wasn't healthy.
A few minutes passed and finally Jericho had calmed down. He was biting his lower lip, his hands clenched on his lap. "Daisy's not Tori. Tori died."
"Jericho, I'm going to prescribe you something for the stress. Take two pills each morning, before breakfast."
Jericho simply nodded, running a hand through his dark hair.
"Do you need more anti-depressants?" Dr. Mason asked.
Jericho lifted the small orange bottle with the pills in them, showing the bottle to Dr. Mason.
"That will be enough until our next appointment. Make sure you take one every day."
Jericho nodded once again, lying back down on the couch. What was he supposed to do? He was sure that he liked Daisy, regardless of her looks. But the possibility of Dr. Mason's prediction being true, had Jericho questioning his relationship with Daisy.
