"I feel like a teenager." Jericho commented, while glancing down at his over night bag.
Daisy chewed on her bottom lip. "Y-you don't have to stay. I just thought -"
"The idea isn't bad, I just haven't been to a sleepover in years." Jericho explained, before kissing Daisy's cheek.
Relief washed over Daisy, just as the door to Victoria's house swung open.
"Daisy Duck, you made it!" A taller and older version of Victoria yelled, pulling Daisy in for a hug.
"Venus Penis, I missed you." Daisy laughed, her cheeks flushing.
"Why couldn't my parents have named me something more common, anything but Venus. " Victoria's sister groaned, pulling away. Venus noticed Jericho for the first time, her eyebrows raising.
"Joshua Bellentino?" Venus directed her question towards Jericho, a huge grin on her face.
Jericho looked confused and Daisy looked completely embarrassed.
"Jericho." He introduced himself, before glancing at Daisy, eyebrows raised. "Who's Joshua Ballen ... -?"
"Bellentino." Daisy corrected, brushing her hair back with embarrassment. "H-he's nobody."
"More like non existent. He was Daisy imaginary boyfriend when we were younger." Venus chuckled, before pinching Daisy red cheek. "Come on inside, Ella and Tori are at the store, buying a few last minute things."
Daisy couldn't help but throw a quick glance Jericho's when Venus used Victoria's nickname, but Jericho seemed unaffected as he smiled Daisy's way. Daisy didn't know whether she wanted him to react, but she was happy with his calm reaction.
Ever since that night at Jericho's, Daisy was still mentally doubting herself. Yet, ignoring her knowledge about the situation seemed to be working so far. She hadn't mentioned anything, and Jericho hadn't said anything that would deny or confirm the suspicion of his attraction towards her.
Either he liked her for her looks, or he liked her for the woman she was. Either one would shape their relationship, whether it be for the good or the bad.
Risking the best thing in your life was as hard as it sounded.
"Guys Daisy duck arrived and she brought Jericho, her ..." Venus trialed off, looking a little uncomfortable.
"He's my ... boyfriend." Daisy said in a hushed voice, avoiding the eyes of her group of friends and purposely Jericho's.
She and Jericho hadn't defined their relationship, despite them going on a few dates and the meaningful kisses they shared. Whether they were actually in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, or just casually seeing each other, they did have feelings for one another.
"Well my name is Kian. Nice to meet you Jericho." A tall and slender guy said, effectively breaking the awkward silence.
"I'm Millie!" A redhead grinned, while waving her hand in the air.
"Ian." The guy next to Millie said, a beer in his hand.
"And I'm the awesome one here, Phaison, but everybody calls me Pi." A slender Asian guy, walked over to them, his hips swaying in a feminine way.
"You're hot." He acknowledged Jericho, an impressed look on his face, before smiling at Daisy. "Good choice. You need a daddy to break down your walls, or should I say break in."
Chuckling filled the room, and Daisy could have sworn her face was on fire with embarrassment. Jericho in return looked uncomfortable, but smiled at the group nonetheless.
"And you called me embarrassing. " Venus laughed, throwing a arm of Daisy's shoulder. "Go ahead and give Jericho the house tour and when the two bitches get back, we'll eat and then basically just have fun the rest of the night."
"I'm really s-sorry." Daisy said as soon as her and Jericho were out of ear shot. "I didn't think they'd be this embarrassing."
Jericho intertwined their fingers, using the other hand to hold their over night bags. "It's fine. As long as I'm with you than I'm good."
They walked into the guest room Daisy always used whenever she slept at Victoria's place. It was a good size with a full sized bed, a dresser, a flat screen TV and a en-suite bathroom. They sat their bags down on the foot of the bed, Jericho sitting on the edge of the bed and Daisy standing in front of him.
"You're not mad that I called you my ..." Daisy trailed off, absentmindedly biting her lower lip and wringing her hands.
Jericho had his hands on her narrow waist, sliding them down to her hips, as he smiled softly at her. "Of course not.
Daisy still looked unconvinced, then suddenly Jericho pulled her into him, flipping her onto the bed as he hovered over her. Daisy was smiling and Jericho pecked her lips, as he held himself over her. "You like me, right?"
Daisy nodded, her hands on Jericho's neck, fingers caressing the strong and prominent bone of his jaw. "Y-you know I do."
Jericho grinned, kissing Daisy's fingertips as they brushed over his lips. "I like you too. You're selfless, smart, honest and caring and those are things you need in your life. I want that in my life. I want you in my life as my girlfriend."
Without waiting for a response, Jericho leaned forwards and captured Daisy's lips in a sweet kiss. Jericho could feel Daisy smiling against his lips, her happiness shining through the kiss. She moved her hands into his hair, tugging softly when Jericho deepened the kiss.
This is what Daisy wanted and needed. The reassurance that he liked her for who she was and not her looks. Jericho had confessed that he liked her, he wanted her. There wasn't the possibility anymore of him just wanting a quick fuck or that his attraction to her was surly based on the fact that she had physical similarities with his ex.
Daisy was so relived and happy at the new revelation, she couldn't even hide her beaming smile as they reentered the living room, fingers intertwined with Jericho's. They moved over to the last unoccupied love seat, sitting down close to each other. Jericho had his arm over the couch, Daisy leaning into his chest and their sides pressed together.
"Hey, I'm sorry if I embarrassed you guys." Pi said loudly, from his spot on the floor near the large TV.
Assuming he meant Jericho and Daisy, Jericho responded. "You're fine."
Pi being Pi, he chuckled, before facing them to blow them a kiss. "Hell yeah, I'm fine!"
Everyone in the room laughed, including Jericho and Daisy.
The group of friends were in the middle of a movie, when Daisy took the chance to glance at Jericho. His silver eyes were trained on the TV, his body relaxed as he held Daisy to his side.
"Why are you staring?" Jericho whispered, but didn't look over to Daisy.
"I'm ... I'm observing." Daisy whispered back, her heart pounding against her ribcage after being caught.
Jericho chuckled and turned his head so they locked eyes. He used one hand to cup her cheek, fingertips brushing over the corner of her mouth. Jericho could feel her lips trembling under his innocent touch. "Observing me is only allowed seeing as I'm your boyfriend and all."
Daisy grinned. It was a simple word that held a lot of meaning, at least for Daisy it did. Everyone searches for that someone, for that something that makes you smile, that makes you want to be the best that you can be and for Daisy that someone was Jericho.
"If I kiss you right now, will you turn into a blushing mess?" Jericho asked quietly, trailing his fingertips up and down the side of her neck, making her shiver and squirm in her seat.
Daisy's lips were parted and her pupils dilated. For once she couldn't look away from Jericho.
Was it normal to be so attracted to someone? Daisy had never been emotionally and physically attracted to someone other than Jericho. Every time they were together this need and want became more prominent and Daisy wondered if Jericho felt it as well.
Their lips brushed against each other, small puffs off air mingling together. They were just inches apart when Victoria and Ella switched on the lights, announcing that they were back and dinner was ready.
---
"So this relationship you have with Daisy is serious, right?" Victoria asked Jericho, her arms crossed over her chest.
Jericho leaned back against the wall, glancing at the staircase where Daisy had gone up just moments ago. Dinner was over and Jericho was expecting some type of interrogation from Daisy's best friend.
"Yes, Daisy and I are in serious relationship." Jericho smiled politely, but Victoria didn't fall for the charming smile.
"She obviously likes you and you seem to like her too, but if it's for the wrong reasons you'll understand what real pain is. Don't mess with her heart. She has enough to deal with as it is, she doesn't need some rich guy trying to mold her into his dead ex girlfriend." Victoria said harshly, before making her way up the stairs leaving Jericho completely stunned.
How did she know? Had the episode of Business Entertainment made it's way on TV? It was supposed to be cancelled. Jericho wondered what Victoria would do with the information. She had obviously already painted her own picture of the situation.
"Why are you standing there? C-come on let's go to bed." Daisy blushed, standing at the bottom of the staircase, fingers pulling at her pajama t-shirt."
Jericho managed a small smile, although forced and let Daisy lead him into the guest room they were staying in.
