Do you like me because I look like her?
Those were the words Daisy should have said, but instead she remained silent. She wiped the tears from her cheeks, willing the lump in her throat to go away. She didn't know what to think about the situation and it was just overwhelming.
A gentle hand upon her shoulder and toned arms wrapped around her. Daisy couldn't find the energy to wrap her own arms around him, not that she wanted to. She wanted space, she wanted clarity. She wanted to know if Jericho was using her because she looked like Tori.
"What's wrong?" Jericho asked quietly, using his hands to hold Daisy tightly to his chest.
His warmth embraced Daisy and covered her like a wool blanket, but was his warmth meant for someone else, someone who was no longer with them.
"Daisy..." Jericho lifted her chin, so they were looking at each other. His silver eyes were worried, as he used his thumbs to wipe her tears away. "Did I do something wrong?"
Daisy couldn't form any words, and every passing second made it harder. Did she really want to know why Jericho liked her? Daisy liked Jericho a lot and what if asking him now, doubting him now, would ruin their relationship they had going. Daisy wanted to enjoy whatever it was that they had, even if it would hurt her in the end.
Ignorance was bliss.
"Talk to me, Daisy." Jericho kissed her forehead, still holding her close. "What's wrong? What happened?"
"N-nothing." Daisy pulled away, using the sleeves of her cardigan to wipe under her eyes. "I, uh ... I just t-thought about my mom."
It was a lie, but one that wouldn't get her in trouble or raise suspicion.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Jericho asked, moving forwards to brush Daisy's hair behind her ear, his slender fingers brushing across her warm cheeks.
Daisy nibbled on the corner of her lower lip, unconsciously wringing her hands. It was a habit she had adapted as a child. "Not really. I just w-want to lay down."
Jericho kissed her forehead and hugged her once more. "Do you want to lay down upstairs?"
It wasn't that she didn't want to lay with Jericho, it was just the mere thought of laying in a bed Tori might have laid in. It didn't matter how much Daisy tried blocking it from her mind, the thought was constantly there. She didn't want to play second fiddle.
Was Jericho even aware that Daisy was investing feelings in him and that she wanted his whole heart. She didn't want to split it with Tori, especially if Jericho was only offering his heart because she looked like Tori.
"I-is it okay if I go home?" Daisy asked, this time hugging him back. Her voice was muffled by Jericho's shirt, but he had heard her.
"Of course. Let me grab my keys and I'll drive you." Jericho replied, grabbing the keys from the hook near the door.
He slipped on his shoes, and Daisy slipped on her own, before the stepped into the elevator. Jericho reached for Daisy's hand and she let him. He gave her small squeeze, offering her comfort.
Daisy avoided his gaze, her eyes casted down, as he led her to his red mustang. He opened the door for her and Daisy responded with a quiet thank you.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Jericho glanced at her from his peripheral vision, before backing out of the underground garage.
"Mhmm." Daisy mumbled, her face draining all color, when she noticed the paparazzi at the gate of the garage, snapping pictures.
Daisy shied away, covering her face with her hands. Jericho honked the horn of his car, making Daisy jump in her seat. The loud sound was acknowledged by the photographers, as they moved out the way.
Daisy wondered if the paparazzi people camped outside his apartment building all the time.
"Sorry for that." Jericho muttered, turning onto the highway.
The ride was awkward and Daisy couldn't tell if she had angered Jericho, when she requested to go home. She could tell that he was stressed though, the way his knuckled turned white, as he held on to the steering wheel. His face was emotionless from what Daisy could tell, and gaining enough confidence she reached over and placed her hand over his right one. Her touch was soft, and Jericho glanced at her quickly. Loosening his grip on the wheel, he reached for Daisy's hand and intertwined their fingers.
"Daisy, if I was moving too fast tonight, you have to let me know. I'm sorry, I shouldn't h-" Jericho began to apologize, his voice low but soft. He wasn't mad at her.
"I liked it ... " Daisy trailed off, heat rising to her face. She touched her lips, smiling as he remembered how Jericho had kissed her. It was nice.
"Good." Jericho squeezed her hand softly, he was grinning. " I liked it too."
"I think we should spend thanksgiving together." Jericho said turning to Daisy in his seat, after he parked the car across from the restaurant.
"I'd like to, but Victoria already invited me ... " Daisy was a little disappointed that they couldn't spend thanksgiving together, but she had promised Victoria.
Daisy smiled a little when she seen the dejected look on Jericho's face. He looked as if his mother had scolded him for eating all the cookies.
"Well we can always see each other the weekend after." Jericho suggested, smiling at Daisy, before kissing her knuckles as he held her hand in his.
"D-do you want to come w-with me to Victoria's?" Daisy asked, looking anywhere but at Jericho.
Was she asking him out? She had never asked anyone out.
"That's sweet of you, but I don't think I can just show up there." Jericho chuckled, absentmindedly playing with Daisy's fingers, his thumb caressing over her soft skin.
"I'm inviting you." Daisy replied, glancing down at their hands.
Maybe if they spent more time together, than Daisy could assure herself that Jericho was in it for her and not the possibility of him using her.
"Well then I'll gladly be your date." Jericho laughed, leaning forwards to kiss Daisy.
Daisy found herself melting into the kiss, as Jericho pulled her closer, tasting her warm mouth. Daisy gripped his biceps, the muscles in his arms twitching under her touch. Every time they kissed it felt better than the kiss before. Daisy moaned softly when his tongue massaged hers, their lips molding perfectly together. Jericho had his hand in her hair, gently pulling her closer. Jericho groaned lowly, when Daisy's nails pressed into his arms.
It was much hotter in his car, the windows fogging up slightly. Daisy felt like a teenager, she felt sexually charged despite the fact that they were only kissing.
Suddenly a loud knock on Jericho's window pierced their bubble of sexual tension. Daisy jumped in her seat, wiping her wet lips and blushing for the hundredth time that night. Jericho groaned with frustration, before rolling down his window and strategically covering the tent in his sweats.
Lillian stood on the other side of the car, her skinny arms crossed under her big chest making them look even bigger. "Dad's been looking for you Daisy, and now he's angry. Stop acting like a teenager and get to work."
Jericho rolled his eyes, before rolling up his window as Lillian remained rooted to the spot. "I hate her."
Daisy laughed. "I'll see you on Thursday."
"I would kiss you, but the evil step sister is watching us." Jericho started his car again. "I'll call you tomorrow."
Daisy smiled at Jericho, before stepping out of his car. She started to walk towards the restaurant, just to be pulled by Lillian.
"You're in big trouble, you little slut." Lillian said harshly, her long fingernails digging into Daisy's arm.
