Chapter 25: Parental Murder

The odd thing is that Jeremy hasn't been to his apartment in days. He stopped there once or twice to get clothes, but other than those times he has been with Mike. Mike would always go on about how Jeremy practically lived in his house now, even if he didn't mind in the slightest. It was weird for the security guard, now that he had a reason to come home. Even if Jeremy slept most of the time. It was obvious that his being in constant fear of his dad coming in the middle of the night affected Jeremy's sleep schedule quite a bit. The bags under Jeremy's amber eyes proved that. On most days you could find Jeremy curled up on Mike's bed or couch, his breathing more steady than it had ever been in his whole life. Mike wished he could talk to Jeremy more than the few hours he got before Jeremy left for Fazbear's, but he cherished them nonetheless.

Days passed and bit by bit Jeremy had needed sleep less and less. He usually found himself dosing off on the couch next to Mike instead of getting actual sleep. During these little moments of peace for the night guard, Mike planned in his mind where to take Jeremy to 'hang out'.  The older male wasn't exactly a classy man, even though he claimed to be a snazzy fucker. Mike had never been on a date, only felt a bit of affection towards a woman before she left him alone. Now he had to think of a place to take his dear Jeremy, even though he wasn't a Casanova.

About one week after Mike's near slip of the tongue and asking Jeremy to hang, Mike decided to just take the dweeb to a café and hopefully not lose his chill. That was the last thing he wanted. After finalizing the details in his mind, he felt as if a weight was lifted off his shoulders. It felt good to finally have an idea of what to do. He looked to the other side of the couch where Jeremy was peacefully sleeping once again. Blue eyes trailed from Jeremy's fluffy brown hair to his peaceful face, examining each detail and taking in the sight. Mike couldn't wish for anything better. Paranoia of his dad coming would haunt Jeremy too often, making calm moments like this all the more welcome. The brunette was slowly trusting him more and more each day. It made Mike feel needed for once in his life, even though he would never admit it.

Since Mike was pretty much stuck where he was he decided to just watch TV, thankful that the remote was on the arm of the couch. He slowly picked up the small remote, careful to not wake Jeremy with the sudden movement. The night guard just whimpered quietly and switched his sleeping position so he was facing the couch. Mike sighed in relief and turned the TV on, making sure to turn the volume down very low in order to keep the sleeping teen next to him from waking up. Blue eyes scanned the TV, noticing how it was set to some random channel with more of those dancing girls with skirts the size and length of a belt. The creepy thing about it was that the main girl in the show was only fourteen. The channel was changed in a heartbeat; the person watching not wanting to see what fucked up thing went on in that TV show. The screen flashed static for a moment before showing a whole new screen, the dark room changing from being drenched in pink and J-pop music to showing two people sitting at a desk with small bar at the bottom of the screen. It showed the news for the afternoon, a picture fading onto the screen seconds later. Mike took interest in this and watched, his eyes widening when he heard the reporter say something about a few people found dead in a ditch after being stabbed. It was clear that they were murdered. On the TV they showed a picture of five children then another picture of their parents who were killed. Mike turned his attention to the words of the news reporter, not realizing that Jeremy was slowly stirring.

"After further investigation was performed on the seven individuals who were killed, it was discovered that they are the parents of the five children who went missing years ago at Freddy's Fazbear's Pizza. One of the children didn't have a parent, but was very close with another one of the children's parents. Three of the children lost both parents, while one lost his mother as his father is already dead. They were all found in a ditch near the restaurant, stabbed through their chests and stomachs. This is your afternoon news reporting from Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Back to you Nicole."

Mike was frozen, his eyes wide. Not because of the fact people were killed, but because a killer was on the loose and Mike's head was pounding with remembrance. He remembered hearing when he was really little about those kids getting killed. He was beyond shocked. The security guard snapped out of his trance after hearing a small yawn and feeling the couch shift. Jeremy's sleep amber eyes looked at Mike before shinning with concern for him.

"Y-you OK Mike? Y-you seem r-really stressed." Mike shook his head before turning to Jeremy, replying with a quick "Just fine." The brunette watched as Mike got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen. Jeremy watched with a confused look spread across his face. About a minute later he followed Mike into the kitchen, checking to see if everything was alright. The amber-eyed brunette found him writing a few things down on a piece of paper before looking up to see Jeremy staring at him. His eyes were turned from full of concern to their normal 'I don't give a fuck' look. The security guard put the paper in a random spot before walking over to Jeremy and grabbing his shoulders. Jeremy jumped at the contact, his nervousness getting the best of him once again. A grin made its way onto Mike face, all signs of the concern from earlier gone. He looked into Jeremy's amber eyes, feeling heat rush to his face.

The two stared at each other for at least a minute before Mike broke the silence, trying not to let another slip of the tongue happen. Jeremy's face turned a light pink as Mike commanded him. "Go put on something nice, I'm taking you out like I promised. Remember last week?" Mike said that with a surprisingly straight face. Jeremy searched his mind for the so-called promise, most of his memory blurred by the many hours of sleep he experienced this week. Finally, he remembered when Mike had asked him if he wanted to go out to eat or something. The memory was still embarrassing for the teen. Jeremy nodded and replied to Mike, his attention back to the older man holding his shoulders.

"Y-yeah. I r-remember." Mike took his hands off of Jeremy, turning away from him and walking down the hallway into his room. He yelled down the hallway just before he was out of earshot.

"Then go back to your house and meet me back here. I'm a man who keeps some promises." The amber-eyed teen blinked a few times in confusion before he heard another yell come from the direction of Mike's room followed by a door slamming. "Oh shit! I forgot you need a ride there!" Mike came running down the hallway, stopping to grab his keys from the hook they were on. The younger of the two slid his converse shoes on, putting on his favorite green sweater before waiting by the door for Mike. While waiting, Jeremy felt happy Mike was coming with him. He would need all the protection in the world in case his dad was waiting for him at his apartment.

Jeremy flinched at fingers ruffled his hair, signaling it was time to go and get what he needed. Tiny hands swatted away larger ones and hastily fixed the normally messy hair just to seem mad. The two guards walked outside into the cold air and shut the door behind them, the owner of the house locking it. Jeremy hopped into Mike's truck and buckled himself, Mike following him inside and getting in on the other side. The vehicle started up, it beginning to blow semi warm air throughout the interior of the car, warming the atmosphere in a matter of minutes. Mike focused on the road, noticing how snowflakes began to slowly fall from the sky instead of the usual rain. He made a mental note to have Jeremy get some warmer clothes as well. The dweeb practically lived with him now so he might as well help him out.

Jeremy fiddled with his sweater sleeves, feeling nervousness creep up inside his stomach. He hasn't visited his home in days, almost a week. It was the most peaceful week of his life, but he didn't want to burden Mike. The fear of his dad finding Mike and himself was too much for the brunette to bear. The ending of that situation was very bloody and Jeremy knew that if that happened it would destroy him and everything he ever cared for. The sound of snapping fingers brought Jeremy out of thought once again, letting a small "Hm" escapes his lips.

"Earth to weeaboo? We are here." Jeremy's eyes shot up, realizing they were parked in front of the apartment building. Mike opened his door and got out, walking to the opposite side to open the stunned Jeremy's door. The cold air rushed into the warm vehicle, sending a chill down Jeremy's spine. He took the chance and hopped out of the car, thankful for Mike taking the lead to his apartment. Jeremy had one last thought before entering the small building.

"Here we go. Please don't let him be there!"
