Chapter 13: Not being able to see sucks.....
Jeremy’s POV
I entered my apartment after the long night at Freddy’s. It was quite a night, Mike being an asshole, Mangle trying to kill us, and me actually yelling. I shut my door and locked it not caring if I woke up anyone else nearby. Right now all I wanted to do was sleep, and I was going to get it no matter what. I took off my hoodie and tossed it aside most likely landing on my couch, to be honest I didn’t care actually. As I walked into my bedroom I rubbed my temples, trying to stay awake. I shut my bedroom door and started taking off my work uniform. I threw the shirt on my bed along with the hat I had to wear. My hands searched through my dresser until I found my green sweater. I threw that on along with a pair of loose jeans. I opened my bedroom door and shut it quickly afterwards. I could feel a throbbing pain on my face. My hand subconsciously touched it causing me to wince, the bruise was still there. I walked in to the bathroom to check it. Below my eye was a light purplish and blue color. It was mostly faded thank god; I didn’t want any more questions from people. Besides Mike a few people in my apartment building asked about it. I just dismissed it as I bumped an open cabinet door and nothing more.
I looked at myself in the mirror I used to have bright amber eyes, now they looked dull. I guess that’s what happens when you’ve been beaten for years and started working long hours at a haunted pizza place. My light brown hair was messy like normal and my face was a bit pale. Was I getting sick? I pushed that to the back of my mind as I left the bathroom and went into my living room. I jumped on to my couch causing the TV remote to fall onto the floor. I quickly grabbed the remote, checking for any damage. Thankfully it hadn’t broken so I flipped my TV on to see if anything good was on. I knew I would fall asleep pretty soon, so it really didn’t matter to me what was on. A few channels showed a few interesting things but one channel did catch my eye. It was an anime channel. I set the remote down on the floor and pulled a blanket over my small body. I knew I was pretty tiny for a guy, but I could still somewhat defend myself. Even as a kid I was frail, however back then I couldn’t defend myself. Bullies and my dad could easily inflict pain on me.
My eyelids began to feel heavy and I stifled a yawn. I glanced at the clock that hung above my TV. It was 6:20 so I decided that I should get some sleep. I pulled the blanket up to my body and let the sounds of the anime I was watching lull me to sleep. I wonder how Mike is…..
*Timeskip brought to you by Sailor Jeremy*
As I woke up I realized my vision was extremely blurry. I could barely see a thing. Oh how wonderful, just the perfect way to wake up. (Yes I’m going to do what you think…..maybe) I threw the blanket off my body and jumped off couch. I stretched a bit, letting out a small groan. I stumbled around my apartment for bit, looking for my (wait for it………wait for it… Ok I’m done interfering now~) glasses. Yeah, with my dad punching me in the eyes a lot he damaged. The doctors said that if my vision ever got blurry to wear my glasses for a few hours or until it went back to normal. I usually didn’t like wearing them; wearing them made me feel really self conscious. No offensive to people who wear them of course. They were simple square shaped glasses with a black and green rim.
As I stumbled around my apartment in search for them I bumped a few things, mainly a cupboard door. That actually hurt a lot, I even heard the smack as my face made contact with the wood. I’m really glad no one was around to see that. After about three more minutes of searching I found them on a desk I had in my room. I should have known they were there. I wasted no time in sliding the glasses on to my face, blinking rapidly at the new sight adjustment.
I glanced at the clock and freaked. It was 11:35 and I wasn’t even close to ready for work. I wasted no time in closing the door to my room even though no one else was living with me and throwing my sweater and jeans off. I snatched up my shirt from off my bed and threw it on, trying not to get my glasses caught on them. I buttoned up and my shirt and glanced at the clock, 11:40. Mike is going to kill me! After getting myself fully dressed I bolted out of my room and into my living room. I grabbed my jacket off the couch, my keys, and a case for my glasses. I swung open my door and slammed it shut, inserting the key to lock it. I bolted down the stairs, trying to be as quiet as I could. It was almost midnight after all. That thought made me run even faster to the elevator and push the button for down. It soon opened with no one inside, and I ran inside. In seconds I was already moving down to the bottom floor. After the doors opened I ran out of the building and down the road.
I zipped up my soft green hoodie; it was even colder than yesterday. I could see my breath fogging up in front of me even with it being so dark out. I ran down the empty streets, hoping I would arrive in time.
Mike’s POV
I sat alone in office, waiting for Jeremy’s late ass to get here. Seriously it’s almost midnight and no sign of him. The two Freddy masks were sitting on the desk along with the flashlight while I had the tablet in my hands. I wound the music box even if it wasn’t midnight, I was getting anxious. I glanced up at the clock hoping Jeremy would arrive soon. 11:48 I let out a sigh and set the tablet on the desk so I could mess around with my hat. There wasn’t much else to do at this stupid job. I took off my hat and set it down on top of the tablet. My ears perked up at the sound of footsteps. Hopefully it was Jeremy; I wasn’t going to pass up the chance to give him a hard time. I spun my chair around so I was facing the door way in which Jeremy would be entering through soon, putting one leg on my knee and crossing my arms. I waited about another minute and the footsteps became loud enough for me to know that Jeremy was right out the door. That’s when I saw him; he ran into the room and started catching his breath by resting his hands on his knees. I could hear his panting loud and clear, did he run all the way here? “Well look who decided to show up.” I smirked at my teasing. He looked up at me, and that is when I froze. He was…..wearing glasses? I blinked a couple of times to check if I was seeing straight. Damn, he looks adorable! I felt my face heat up as he started apologizing. I just stared at him, completely frozen.
“I’m so sorry Mike! I’m over slept and I’m just so sor-. Mike, you OK?”
AN: DON'T HATE MEEEEEEEEEEE
