Percy wakes up to the sound of a text alert. He rubs his eyes and reaches up yawning. As he looks at his phone his alarm starts to blare. He fumbles, almost dropping his phone.
"Dam" he says half frustrated and half amused at the inside joke he shared with his best friend from his summer camp, Grover and his cousin Thalia. It occurred during the summer when he was 14. That summer they went on a field trip to the Hover Dam. One of his best friends Annabeth was jealous, somewhat understandably. She wants to be an architect. She was missing camp that summer because she was with her dad in San Francisco.
He looked at his text then. It was Piper.
Hey seaweed brain She texted. He remembers what happened the summer they all met that gained him the unfortunate nickname. They were having a kanoe race, Percy against Piper and Annabeth, when he tipped over and got covered in seaweed.
Percy: Sup beauty queen. He replied whatcha doing
Pipes👑: Nothing much. Piper replyed back
Annie📚: Will you two shut up. My alarms not supposed to go off for ten more minutes😠
Percy : Sorry Annabeth 😢
Pipes👑: Sorry babe😚💖💖💖
Annie📚: Fine I can't stay mad at ether of you. Meet me at the corner in 15
Percy knew them since he was 12 and they had a ritual since 7th grade, Meet at the corner at 7:45 before school. He's been in the same homeroom as them since the year after they met at camp. Piper's mom had a voice that could make anyone do almost anything and her dad was filthy rich, so she could do pretty much anything at school.
