Chapter 3

A/N: The image above does not belong to me. It belongs to the person who uploaded it on the internet.

To those who may not know him, his name is Kim Namjoon. He is the leader of the 7-member Kpop group called BTS. He is one of the two rappers in the group and is also known as RM or Rap Monster.

Namjoon's POV

I know that my present actions would most probably be considered problematic by those who are not aware of our dormitory rules.

As the leader of our group, I am required to keep track of all the activities of the other members. I am responsible for their safety. At the end of the day, if anything untoward were to happen to anyone of them because I had not kept them from doing anything risky, I would be taken to task by our manager and ultimately the owner of our agency.

There were times that I regretted accepting the responsibilities of being the leader of the group.

I did not want to offend Jungkook, our youngest member, by keeping him from going out to meet up with his new friend, some Thai stranger whose name I did not even know.

When he told me that he was going out to meet up with that guy, I asked him to at least tell me where he was meeting him. He said that he had been invited to have dinner with the Thai friend at an Italian restaurant located in the ground floor of the hotel where that friend was billeted.

I knew where that hotel was located. It was only a few minutes drive from our dormitory. It would not be hard to find that Italian restaurant if it was indeed located in the ground floor of the hotel. It was probably right beside the lobby area.

I waited a few minutes for Jungkook to leave before I set out to follow him.

I glanced at the time on the dashboard of my SUV before quietly driving it out of the underground parking lot. It was two minutes past seven in the evening.

I was lucky to find a parking space just a short block away from the hotel building. Just before I rounded the corner of the street that would take me to the hotel, I lifted the head cover of my hoodie to partially cover my face.

I slowly walked into the lobby. I was right. The entrance to the Trattoria di Milan (A.N: this is a fictional name; author doesn't know if such a restaurant exists.) was clearly visible from the lobby.

I lingered outside the door, casing the inside of the restaurant. There didn't seem to be too many customers but still it took me a while before I saw Jungkook. His back was to the entrance but I immediately recognized his clothes. The Thai friend was facing the entrance and was talking animatedly to Jungkook, using lots of hand gestures.

I entered and approached the waiter standing behind a small and narrow elevated mahogany counter.

"Good evening," I greeted him. "I know that you operate by reservation only but would you happen to have an available table at this time?"

The waiter lifted a finger to indicate for me to wait while he browsed through a page in the lap top in front of him.

"You're in luck," he said after a few minutes. "Come and follow me."

I averted my face from the table by the wall where Jungkook and his friend were seated to avoid being seen by him as I walked past it.

I thanked the waiter before sitting at a corner table far away from Jungkook. I told the waiter that I was there only for some dessert. I asked him to bring me a slice of tiramisu and a cup of capuccino.

I kept my head lowered while I pulled out my phone from one of my pockets and then entered my password on my phone screen. I had forgotten to let Jin know that I was leaving the dormitory to keep an eye on Jungkook. (A/N: he is referring to Seok Jin, the oldest member of their group who is one of their vocalists.)

A/N: The image above does not belong to me. It belongs to the person who uploaded it on the internet.

His name is Kim Seok Jin, one of the vocalists of BTS and the group's oldest member.

I quickly sent him a text, letting him know where I was. I quickly muted my phone to avoid getting any unwanted attention from anyone inside the restaurant, but especially from Jungkook.

"Act wisely" was all that Jin said as a response to my text. Jin was a man of few words.

I thanked the waiter when he brought me my tiramisu and capuccino. I took a sip from my cup before cutting a small piece from the tiramisu.

I noticed that the Thai friend had ordered a whole bottle of wine. It was dark red in color and he was pouring it liberally into Jungkook's wine glass.

I continued to keep my head lowered as I alternated between sipping from my coffee cup and eating a small piece of tiramisu.

Soon the Thai friend was paying for their dinner and was leading Jungkook out of the restaurant. Jungkook had a wide and silly grin on his face and almost stumbled as one foot of his caught against the leg of a chair as he passed by a table close to the door of the restaurant. The Thai friend was quick to catch him to prevent him from falling.

I quickly took one last sip from my coffee and signaled to the waiter that I was ready to pay my bill. When my transaction was completed I quickly made my way out of the restaurant.

I was expecting Jungkook and the Thai friend to part ways at the lobby. To my dismay and consternation they were making their way out of the lobby together, the Thai friend's arm holding  a slightly unsteady Jungkook tightly by the waist. Where in bloody hell was he taking Jungkook.

I stopped being cautious about hiding my identity and sprinted towards them just as they reached the last step of the set of wide stairs leading to the pavement.

Just at that instant, someone rushed past me, bumping hard against me, making me almost lose my balance.

"Hey!" I yelled at him. "Watch where you're going, dumbass!"

He stopped for just a brief second to apologize and explain.

"I have to get to that friend of mine before he runs off with that new found Korean friend of his whom he doesn't know from the start of creation. Who knows my friend might end up dead and floating in the Han River before the end of this evening!"

To my great shock he was pointing at my very own Jungkook whom I was trying to protect from his friend. How dare he think of Jungkook as some psycho killer. What a bloody mess.

I took a good look at the other Thai who seemed all set and determined to protect his friend from Jungkook. I realized that he wasn't bad looking. Not bad looking at all.
