Chapter 2

A/N: The image above does not belong to me. It belongs to the person who uploaded it on the internet.

For those who might not know him, his name is Kim Taehyung. He is a member of the KPop group called BTS of which he is one of the vocalists, Jeon Jungkook being a vocalist of the group as well.

Taehyung's POV

The whole group gathered around me the moment that Jungkook and I entered our dorm. Everyone was asking me to tell them about my one week stay in Paris where I modeled the latest line of men's clothing of one of the most popular signature brands.

Yes, everyone was eagerly waiting for me to regale them with stories about my Parisian experience. Everyone... except Jungkook. I stole a quick glance at him.

While I was excitedly telling them about seeing so many Parisian celebrities in the audience as I walked down the ramp, Jungkook was busy on his phone. He wasn't talking to anyone, nor playing a game. He was doing something else on his phone but I couldn't tell what. It couldn't be that he was texting someone because otherwise I would have heard the notification sound of a response. Either way I could tell that his mind was preoccupied with something. Or someone. Somehow the thought hurt me. I always had his undivided attention whenever we were together. And now, of all days when I had just come back from a trip abroad, after being away for a whole week, I was expecting him to give me some attention at least.

I continued to recount to the rest of the group my experience in Paris. I pretended not to be upset that Jungkook was not giving me any attention at all.

Suddenly Jungkook's phone started to ring. Jungkook would usually take his calls in front of all of us, but this evening, I noticed how he ran into his room and closed the door.

I couldn't take it anymore. I stood up from the couch and started to walk in the direction of Jungkook's room.

Namjoon who has always been a keen observer of all of us members, stood up quickly and grabbed me by the wrist. I swear to god he is the leader of our group for a very good reason. He seems to be psychic when it comes to every single one of us. He may not be the oldest among all seven of us but he is the smartest, the brainiest, the most discerning. And these traits come in really handy whenever he has to mediate a fight between two members or more of the group.

I tried to yank my wrist from his grasp but he held on tightly to it.

"Leave him alone," was all that Namjoon said to me.

"But he can't do this to me," I whined. "I just got back from Paris and this is how he treats me?"

"It must be an important call that's why he has to take it in his room," Namjoon tried to explain but I was hearing nothing of it.

"Yes," I spat out at Namjoon, "A very important call from a person he has just met at the airport. Some very tall good looking Thai who seemed to be some kind of Thai celebrity, maybe an actor or a singer, who knows."

"Then just let him be," Namjoon said, trying to make his tone soothing, just to pacify me.

"But I'm worried that since that guy is a complete stranger, you never know what trouble lies ahead for Jungkook if he decides to meet up with him!" I protested strongly.

"Don't worry," Namjoon said, letting go of my wrist and patting my shoulder. "We won't allow him to leave the dorm unchaperoned."

"What if he says that since he's of legal age he has the right to go where he pleases without anyone shadowing him?" I had to think of a scenario like this. I couldn't take the chance of Jungkook falling under the spell of some good looking Thai stranger.

"I won't let him go out alone if the reason he's leaving the dorm is to meet up with a complete stranger," Namjoon declared firmly.

I was temporarily relieved by Namjoon's plan for Jungkook.

Bright's POV

Win has always been a special someone to me. From the time I first met him, he charmed me with his unassuming and easygoing personality. He never seemed to be aware of his good looks. He was always kind and friendly to everyone around him. I had never seen him get cross with anyone. He was always in control of his emotions.

Maybe that was it. Maybe because he was always laid back and never showed any strong emotions, I felt comfortable being with him. I would always choose him over anyone else to be my travelling companion, or companion for anything else.

This evening, though... this evening... I felt drawn into the irresistible charm of Jungkook. Yes, he said his name clearly to me. "My name is Jungkook" was what he had said as a way of introducing himself to me.

Although I was not so familiar with the entertainment group that he was a member of, I was vaguely aware that his group was an internationally acclaimed Kpop group. And yet, Jungkook did not give me any vibe of being conceited or arrogant. He gave me the vibe of being a very likable person.

I unlocked my phone and stared at the number that he had registered on my phone by calling me as soon as I had keyed in my number into his own phone.

I searched in my phone for reputable restaurants where I could take him for a dinner date. And then it hit me. On the ground floor of the hotel where Win and I were staying there was an expensive looking Italian restaurant with uniformed waiters. Since this hotel was a five star hotel, I assumed that the restaurants in its premises were also five star dining places.

I took a deep breath before deciding to give Jungkook a call. With trembling fingers, I tapped on his number.

I almost chickened out when on the third ring he didn't pick up. I was a split second away from tapping on the red X to end my call when I suddenly heard his voice on my phone.

"Hey," I couldn't think of anything else to say at first. That was how nervous I was.

"Bright?"

"Yes, it's me," I managed to say without a quiver in my voice. "Are you free this evening?"

"I'm afraid not," I heard him reply. "Remember, I told you at the airport that today I'm not free?"

"Oh yes," I said, slapping my forehead with the palm of my hand. "I have advanced senile memory impairment."

I heard Jungkook chuckle on the other end.

"If you're free tomorrow at lunch, I would like to meet up with you at that time," I heard Jungkook say.

"That would be fantastic!" I exclaimed. "I only have until day after tomorrow here in Seoul and then I will have to fly some place else."

"And where would that place be?" Jungkook asked.

"Jeju Island," I replied. For some reason I was hesitant to mention Win's name to Jungkook.

"Wow!" I heard Jungkook exclaim excitedly. "That's one of the absolutely lovely places to go for a vacation. How long are you planning to stay there?"

"About a week," I informed him.

"That's great!" he said enthusiastically. "If I'm able to get permission from my manager for a few days off, I would love to spend a few days in Jeju Island myself."

I stole a glance at Win who was busy playing a game on his phone and was not listening in on my conversation with Jungkook.

"A few days with you in Jeju Island sounds like absolute heaven to me," I said, my voice almost a whisper because I was not sure that I wanted Win to hear what I was saying.
