Return to Mystic Falls
Seven years ago, Ginevra Sommers and Mason Lockwood had a one night sand. Both left town separately after, not knowing Ginevra was pregnant with their baby. She had a difficult pregnancy. She even died temporally during labor. Her heart stopped for a couple of minutes before the doctors brought her back with CPR. But those few minutes were all it took to curse her newborn daughter, Amira Sommers-Lockwood.
Needless to say she got the shock of her life when her three week old baby turned into a wolf pup on the first full moon after it's birth. She nearly had a panic attack when she saw her baby's bones breaking and rearranging themselves. When she ran into the nursery to find out why her baby was crying. Ginevra had contemplated taking Amira to a doctor, but didn't want her to be taken away.
So instead she asked help from a college friend of hers. Isobel Flemming, who did research on folklore. She told Ginevra what she knew about werewolves and how she believe based on her research of Mystic Falls, the Lockwoods were descendants of a werewolf bloodline. Ginevra didn't want to return to Mystic Falls. So Isobel suggested trying mountains, state parks if Gin was looking for werewolves to help her with Amira.
That's what Ginevra did, three months later she discovered a werewolf and begged for her help. The she wolf explained what she could about shifting. How the curse work. Also about how she locked herself up every month. Chaining herself up and drinking poisonous wolfs bane to keep her weak. Ginevra refused to do that do her daughter.
So the she wolf directed her to a wolf back in the Smokey Mountains. Said they turned up there free of restraint or wolfs-bane to enjoy the full moon. So Ginevra went there. It took a while, but she found the pack on the full moon. Well they found her and her daughter. She was sitting by a fire cradling her baby, who was in wolf form sleeping soundly. When three wolves appeared.
Ginevra was scared and backed away from them. Grabbing a big stick. But they did nothing, except lay by the fire and watch her with. Looking intrigued and curious by the wolf pup in her arms. When she relaxed Amira woke up and noticed the wolves. She had whined and wiggled in her mother's arms.
So Ginevra put her down gently and watched warily as Amira approached the closest wolf and they sniffed each other. The wolf then licked her nose. Making her back away in surprise. Ginerva relaxed and sat down watching her daughter interact with the three full grown wolves. She stayed awake all night and the next day was introduced to the whole pack. They helped her a lot over the next few years. Teaching her daughter about werewolf history and much more.
Life was perfect for the pair. Until Ginevra's eldest sister Miranda died along with her husband in a horrible car accident. Leaving her niece Elena and nephew Jeremy orphans. To be raised by her other older sister Jenna. Ginevra wanted to go to the funerals, but Amira was hurt after the latest full moon. So they couldn't travel.
Gin's POV
"But what if they don't like me?" Amira asks me scared. She might by a curious child, but she is also shy with new people. Though it doesn't take her long to warm up them.
"They'll love you" I assure her. As I drive. "Remember everyone's names?" I ask her.
"Yes, Aunt Jenna and my cousins are Elena & Jeremy" she answers. I smile and turn onto our family's street. I park the car on the street and get out with Amira. Who grabs my hand tightly.
"Ow" I whisper. She forgets her strength sometimes. So do I.
"Opps, sorry mama" she says sheepishly as she loosens her grip. I just give her a reassuring smile and head to the front door. I knock and it opens to reveal Jeremy.
"Aunt Gin!" he says surprised.
"Gonna invite us in?" I ask him with a smile.
"Sure, come in. Jenna, Elena get in here!" he shouts as I enter the house with Amira. He pulls me into a hug, once the door was shut.
"What is it Jeremy?" Elena asks as she appears with Jenna.
"Ginevra!" Jenna squeals and hugs me. "I didn't know you were coming back" she says happily.
"It was a surprise" I tell her.
"Well we're diffidently surprised Aunt Gin" Elena says giving me a hug.
"Who's this cutie?" Jenna asks me when she spots Amira hiding behind my legs.
"Guys, I'd like you to meet my daughter Amira. Amira this is your aunt Jenna and cousins" I say. "Say hello" I encourage having her stand beside me.
"Hello" Amira says shyly.
"I didn't know you had a daughter" Jenna says surprised.
"I'll tell you all about it later" I assure her.
"Do you like video games?" Jeremy asks Amira and she nods her head. "Great, we'll play later when we get back" he tells her. She smiles shyly.
"Speaking of, we're late" Elena states looking at the clock.
"For what?" I ask confused.
"Mayor Lockwood's wake" Jeremy states.
"He's dead?" I ask shocked.
"Yeah, happened last night. There was a fire at the old Gilbert Doctor Office. We'll explain later" Jenna tells me. Great, have to find somewhere else for Amira to shift. "Do you want to come with? We were just going to drop food off, pay our respects and leave" she states.
"Sure, but you're driving" I tell her.
"Don't I always?" she asks with a smile. We get into her car and she drives us to the Lockwoods.
"Don't leave my side ok" I tell Amira.
"Yes Mama" she says. We all get out and Jenna grabs the food. We head for the front door. "Looks like the whole town has turned out" she states.
"He was the mayor" I remind her.
"Why don't they save it for the funeral?" Jeremy asks.
"That's what people do. The Lockwoods were here for us when we went through this" Jenna reminds them. "It'll be quick; we'll drop off the food and pay our respects and go" she assures them.
"In and out? It sounds like a plan" Jeremy agrees. I nod my head in agreement.
"You guys go ahead, I'll be right there, okay?" Elena asks. We nod and I notice her head over to a young man. I hide my surprise at who it was. It was Damon Salvatore, but he's suppose to be dead. Does that mean vampires exist also? I lead Amira inside after the other two.
Jeremy left us. Jenna and I find Carol. "Ginevra, I didn't know you were back. Guess this is the day for returnees" she says kissing my cheek. As I hugged her, letting go of Amira's hand.
"Oh, who else has returned?" I ask her curious.
"Mason, has returned also" she states. I freeze, just great. "Thank you for the food" she says.
"Of course and our condolences" Jenna tells her.
"If you ever need anything, you have our number" I add.
"Thank you" she says grateful and went to speak to another guest.
"Time to go" Jenna tells me and I smile. I nod my head and turned to where I last saw my daughter. To find her gone.
"Amira?" I say confused and worried.
"We'll find her" Jenna assures me. "I'll check in here, you check elsewhere" she states. I agree and left the room. I start my search for my daughter. I turn a corner and bump into someone.
"Sorry" we say together and I look up. I freeze at the sight of Mason's blue eyes. "Gin?" he asks.
"Mason" I say.
"Long time no see" he says sheepishly. "What's it been? Four, five years?" he asks.
"Seven" I correct him.
"Mama!" Amira shouts and runs over to me.
"Amira, you had me worried sick" I state as I pick her up.
"I'm sorry Mama, I got lost looking for the loo" she mumbles hugging me around the neck.
"You are safe and that's all that matters" I state. I notice Mason looking at her in shock. "It was good seeing you, sorry about your brother" I tell him. Before leaving with Amira. I find Jenna and the three of us leave to get some ice cream. We went to a park and Amira went to play.
While I told Jenna everything about how I got pregnant with Amira and who the dad is. How Amira knows the name of her father. But nothing about werewolves. "Does Mason know?" she asks me.
"No, though I'm sure he'll figure it out. He saw her today" I tell her. "So what have I missed?" I ask her. She catches me up on everything. Including how Elena broke up with Matt and it dating a Stefan Salvatore. Not good. "Can we go to their graves? It's about time I paid my respects" I tell her.
"Of course" she tells me. We collected Amira and got some flowers. Before going to the cemetery. Where we put flowers on the graves. Jenna then took Amira for a walk, giving me some peace with the graves. I told my dead sister everything, the whole truth. Before Jenna returned and we went back to the house. "You can use Miranda's old room" she tells me.
"Oh don't worry, I'll get a hotel" I tell her.
"No sister or niece of mine is going to stay in a hotel" she tells me matter of factly. "Besides John left today, so it's free" she states. "Though we'll have to get you clean sheets" she adds.
"Thank you sister" I say. We made the bed together. While Amira played video games with Jeremy until dinner. Elena returned and we had dinner together as a family. Before watching a family movie. Amira then had a shower and I put her to bed. I joined her not long after.
