Gin's POV

The moon has risen and Amira is now a wolf. She is enjoying the near clear sky. Playing with her toys, howling at the moon. I was just beginning to relax, thinking Klaus should be dead by now when we hear an unfamiliar howl. We had heard Tyler's earlier. Amira wanted to go see him, but I wouldn't let her go.

Amira rushes over to me her tail down looking scared. I curse, wishing I had my gun. But at least I have the stake launcher up my sleeve and a knife. It'll have to do. "Hide" I tell Amira and she whines looking up at me. "Hide now" I order and she runs into the tree roots.

I draw my knife as I hear something approaching. I get into my defensive stance. No one will touch my daughter. Soon a wolf appears growling and I glare at him. He bares his teeth. "Klaus" I say and he cocks his head. I curse, Elijah was supposed to of killed him. "Leave now" I tell him and he snarls.

Amira whimpers and he looks at the roots. I block his view. "You won't touch my daughter" I snap. He snarls and snaps at me. But I don't back down. His not the first wolf to do that and I doubt he'll be the last.

He disappears and I look around trying to find him. I strain my hearing, I'd hear him before I see him. He's a lot faster then any of wolf I've faced. I hear something to my right and swing around with the knife. Something bites me arm and I scream in agony. Dropping the knife.

Klaus throws me away from the tree where Amira is hiding. I slam into another tree and gasp in pain. I land on the ground in a heap. That hurt. I blink away tears as I hear Amira's yelp of fright. I look up to see Klaus stalking towards the tree. I can't let him touch her.

I go to get up, but discover one arm is useless. Klaus had dislocated it when he'd thrown me. The bastard. I grit my teeth and slowly get to my feet. Grabbing a rock and throw it at Klaus. It hits his head and he turns around glaring at me. "Get away from her!" I shout and throw another rock. Which he dodges and disappears again.

Amira whimpers and goes to crawl out. "Don't move!" I yell and she freezes. "Stay there" I tell her and she whines loudly. Something bites my leg, before I can attack. He disappears again and I fall.

I fight back tears of pain. Everything hurts. I hear tearing and see Klaus starting to tear at the roots. Amira yelps and whines in fear. I can't let him get to her, he may hurt her. Fighting back the pain I get to my fight again. While Klaus is distracted I use the last of my energy to run. I punch him hard in the side with my good arm, injecting two wooden stakes into his side. He yelps in pain.

"I said get away from her" I sneer and pant holding my side. I think I cracked a few ribs when he throw me. He tackles me to the ground. I raise my arm and he bites. I scream in agony as I hear my arm break. "I don't care what you do to me, you won't lay a paw on my daughter" I tell him and kick him. He lets go and I punch him.

He snarls and suddenly his teeth are around my throat. My world starts to go dark, the last thing I remember is something small tackling him off of me. I lose consciousness.

Third Persons POV

Amira couldn't take it anymore seeing her mother being attacked. So came out of hiding and tackled Klaus around from Gin. But it was already to late. Gin had lost consciousness and is bleeding out. Amira stands in front of her snarling at Klaus. Who lets out a wolf chuckle.

He advances slowly and Amira snaps at him. He pauses cocking his head to the side. Suddenly they hear a scream in the distance. Klaus growls and runs towards it. Amira relaxes and nudges her mother whining. Except Gin doesn't move.

Elijah appears and Amira snarls at him huckles up. She snaps at him as he approaches. "I only wish to help" he says raising his hands. Amira whines and nudges her mum again tears rolling down her furry checks. Elijah kneels down and listens to Gin's heart. It had stopped. He sighs in relief when he notices the ring on her finger. "She's sleeping" he tells Amira.

She looks up at him not believing him. "She'll be a wake by morning, fully healed" he states. "I'll make sure Klaus does not return tonight, stay safe young one" he says before leaving. Amira whines and goes to the tent. She drags a blanket out. She drapes it over Gin and crawls under it. Snuggling into her side and waits for her to wake. But falls asleep.

(Next morning) Gin's POV

I woke up to my whole body aching. But not physical injuries, except for being covered in blood. I gasp sitting up when I remember last nights events. "Mummy!" Amira says and clings to me. "You were dead" she cries sobbing into my chest.

"I'm ok Amira" I assure her stroking her hair. "The ring protected me" I state and she gives me a sad smile. "Lets go home and clean up. Then we can go see the others" I tell her. She nods her head and gets dressed. We return to the car and I drive us home. We shower and put on fresh clothes before going to the Salvatore house.

Elena is alive and well. But both John and Jenna are dead. I can't believe my twin is dead and I wasn't there to save her. Apparently Katherina had pretended to be Elena to lure Jenna out of the house. So that Klaus could turn her and use her as the vampire sacrifice in the ritual last night. I don't get why he didn't choose me. I only had my daughter, I would of been an easier target. Yet he waited until he lifted his curse to attack me.

We had a funeral for both John and Jenna. Amira and I then moved back into the house. So that I could take care of Jeremy and Elena. While I rented my place out for the time being. I'm sure I'd return once Elena and Jeremy went off to college. But as long as they need me, we'll live with them. Ric also promised to help out.

John welled his ring to Elena, she offered it to me. But I refused. Coming back from the dead was bad enough. I didn't want it to happen again. So I returned it to her. Against Amira's wishes, she feared Klaud wold come after me again. But I assured her it won't happen and next time he won't win.
