The Nanny part 1
Elsa Arendelle walked into the lobby of the penthouse. This couldn't be the place. The company had told her the man was well off but a penthouse? She was going to be living in a penthouse. Her new boss' name was Jack Overland. He was a young and very successful. Mr. Overland had started his own business. Elsa couldn't quite remember what it was but sh knew that he was the owner of his own company. He had a little girl named Sophie. She was about five and Elsa was to be her nanny.
Elsa went up to the front counter and asked for Mr.Overland's floor.
She suddenly felt under dressed. He was a wealthy man and here she was coming up in a dark blue dress and black cardigan she had bought from Target.
'It shouldn't matter.' She thought to herself. She was the help, she didn't need to dress that nice, besides she liked her dress.
Floor 7
Only five more floors. Elsa began to play with the end of her braid out of nervousness. It was her first nanny job and she wanted to be good at it. She had taken care of her younger sister before but Anna was only three years younger this was a five year old.
Ding! The elevator bleeped. The silver doors opened to reveal the penthouse 17th floor owned by Mr. Overland.
"Daddy daddy!" Yelled a little blonde girl. "She's here! She's here!"
The child was in blue pajamas and her hair was tangly and it looked like she had cut some of it herself. She stumbled a bit as she ran for her father.
"Sophie I'm coming." He said.
A tall man walked from the hall way. The little blonde girl was wrapped around his leg. He walked forward still carrying the little girl on his left leg.
He was attractive, mid to late twenties. Brown hair and eyes. He didn't look much like his daughter who had blonde hair and green eyes.
"Hi you must be Elsa. I'm Jackson Overland and this little creature on my leg is Sophie." He greeted her with a smile.
"Hi." Sophie smiled and waved from her father's ankle. Elsa realized Sophie had inherited Mr. Overland's smile.
"Very nice to meet both of you.." I replied.
"I have to be off to a meeting but Sophie and Aster can give you a tour of the place." He said.
He picked up little Sophie from his ankle. He gave her a kiss and a hug and set her down.
"Aster! Elsa is here would you mind showing her around I have to go to a meeting." Mr. Overland said.
A man in his mid to late forties came out of one of the rooms. He had black hair that was peppered with gray. He wore a white dress shirt and black trousers.
"Yes sir. Have a nice time at your meeting." He said. His accent sounded Australian.
"I'm sorry to leave in such a rush we'll talk more once I get back." Mr. Overland said. He grabbed his jacket and went into the elevator.
"Well Miss Elsa, I'll show you the home. Here is the living room and over there is the dining room." He pointed out.
The living room consisted of a nice light blue couch, flat screen and a black coffee table. The windows took up the whole wall and gave a beautiful view of the city.
The dining room was a long table brown table with matching chairs. There were five chairs.
"Mr. Overland likes to dine with his household most of the time so we'll see him at dinner. Now if you'll come with me upstairs I'll show you your room.
"No I want to show her!!" Sophie pleaded.
"Yes Miss Sophie go ahead." Aster said.
Sophie ran upstairs trying not to trip on her own two feet.
"Come on Elsa!" She called.
"I'm coming!" Elsa said following after her. She stopped mid way and took off her dark blue heels.
"I really should've warn tennis shoes." She told Aster.
"You get used to running after Miss Sophie."
Elsa chased her up the stairs and was guided to her room,
"It's right next to mine!" Sophie exclaimed.
"I can see that." She replied.
"Sophie why don't you get ready for your play date with Jamie. Miss Elsa will be with you shortly." Aster said,
"Okay!" Soohie said and went into the room next to Elsa's.
"Now Miss Elsa you will be taking care of Miss Sophie. You will be down every morning for breakfast and dinner. If Mr. Overland's door is closed then he is doing important business so he doesn't want to be bothered unless it's an emergency."
"I'm sorry may I ask what do they need me here when they have you?" Elsa asked.
"Well you see I am Mr. Overland's butler I clean and cook for Mr. Overland and I'm not getting younger so it is difficult for me to be both nanny and butler." He replied.
"Ah I see." She said. "I hope I'm not imposing or stepping on your toes,"
"Oh not at all you're making my job easier." Aster smiled.
"What about Ms.Overland?" Elsa asked.
Aster's smiled disappeared. "Ms Overland passed sometime ago."
Elsa blushed with embarrassment. "I'm so sorry I shouldn't have asked."
"No it's quite alright. She died 3 years ago. She was a very lovely lady. Mr. Overland loved her very much." He said. "As did I she was like a sister to me. But enough of the past. Let's talk about the present."
Aster took out some clothes from Elsa's room. "Now the last nanny wore a uniform. Mr overland doesn't demand that you do but you're welcome to have some work clothes."
"Thank you."
Elsa played with Sophie for a little while after she got back from her playmate. Mostly she read her stories from her story book. Her favorite was the tale of Rapunzel.
"I think my mom was Rapunzel," Sophie stated.
Elsa smiled "Why is that?"
"Because her hair was really long I remember. And this is a really tall house. So it's like a tower." Sophie said.
"Well I guess you're right then. Maybe she was." Elsa said.
"Elsa and Sophie it is time for dinner!" Aster called.
"Come on we better get down there." Elsa said.
Elsa and Sophie went downstairs and joined Aster for dinner. Although there was still an empty chair at the head of the table.
"Where is Mr. Overland?" Elsa asked.
"He is stuck late at the office I'm afraid." Aster said.
"He does that a lot." Sophie whispered to Elsa.
"Miss Sophie don't be rude, your father works very hard." Aster said to her. He placed her pieces of chicken on her plate.
"I don't care." Sophie pouted "he said he would come tonight."
"That's enough pouting Sophie you have miss Elsa tonight." Aster said. "Now eat your chicken."
Aster left and went back to the kitchen.
"Aren't you going to sit with us Aster?" Elsa asked.
"Oh no I usually eat in my little nook
It has a beautiful view of the garden."
"Oh come now Aster I think you can sit at the table tonight. " Elsa insisted.
"Well fine I guess it's alright just for tonight." Aster said coming back into the room and setting his plate down.
