James' P.O.V
Hello I'm James, I'm 17 and I'm in a arranged marriage, as in I've never seen the person that my family wants me to marry they pretty much told me one day that I was to marry a guy named Thomas Jefferson. The wedding was now in two days and I didn't get to choose anything for my wedding, just the color theme, not the cake, not the venue, all of that was left to my fiancé.
I haven't even finished highschool yet, I was at the very end of the year and all for nothing because my family was making me be some form of a house wife.
The only reason my family was doing this was probably because he was wealthy.....I guess I was his chocie out of tweleve different girls who he got to meet but at yet he still chose me even though we've never met.....
I guess he thought I was beautiful, my family said that's what he told his parents. I'm so unsure and confused though....why me?
Although I was nervous because unlike him I was immature a bit and silly because I like to joke around sometimes and make light of nervouse situations..but I can be quiet when I need to be
My family described Thomas as a mature and respectable gentleman, who was serious most of the time.
Although I don't know what he looks like he kinda sounds plain but I bet I can find a spark in him.
****Day of the Wedding****
When it was the day of the wedding I had at least five of his maids helping me making sure I looked perfect, although they didnt put makeup on me which was kinda weird.
They said that he found my face pretty without makeup.
I guess that makes sense, I'm just so nervouse right now, I wash my face one last time before getting in the limo and driving to the place, I had one more moment to think before we arrived there.
This wedding had to be held at the most expensive venue anyone could go to....it was at The Great Town Hall....honestly I felt out of place and uncomfortable because of how fancy everything
was and everyone was..
Once the bells chimmed, I felt some butterflies in my stomach and I smelt the air taking in how it smelled of sweet sugar and other undescribable smells.
As I walk down the isle all eyes are on me but my veil covered my face so I could see everyone but no one could see my face.
It all made me nervouse but I made it to the altar without tripping (thank god).
It was getting boring after three hours of saying our vows. Jeez my feet were killing me.
I never relized how tall my fiance would be but he definetly was a giant compared to my 5,2 height.
Then came my part to say I do. I said it with compliance and he lifted up the veil and I saw him for the first time. Every inch of my fiancee's face was perfect, he had fluffy hair, brown eyes, and he was cute to me, seeing him caused me to blush a little but I noticed his lips curled up a little in a smile then before I knew it we kissed each other.
He then held his arm out for me and I latched onto him and walked back down the isle once more with a ring on my finger and a little smile.
It was then when I relized, this is my wedding, I should be happy and social. Not quiet because that's not who I want to be right now. Despite my husband smiling at me when he first saw my face, I feared he wouldn't smile again because while he was walking with me he kept a straight and strict face.
As we all went to the venue everyone spreads out to either dance or sit down and eat, although it was all nice, it was still a little too fancy, almost everything was white, although the colors I chose were blue and purple.
I guess I couldn't complain much because I don't wanna seem like a brat, plus I really apprieceated how much effort was put into this wedding, as I was thinking Thomas was trying to get my attention, "......James.....hey James." He was so quiet as he spoke.
I turned towards him, "yes?"
"....would you like to dance?..."
I nodded
He gently took my hand and took me to the dance floor where we gently swayed.
"I hope you take this seriously, James."
"Hm? what do you mean?"
"I mean, you're not gonna run off with anyone are you?"
I shake my head, "No.."
"Are you in love with anyone?"
"No, what about you?"
"Not at all, but hopefully in time we can learn to understand each other, possibly develope romantic feelings."
"I know we can."
He nodded
He didn't say anything else to me.
Him and I sit at a table together and eat. When it was time to cut the cake, we got our first slice to share, this is when my child side came out and I put a bit of frosting on Thomas' nose.
All of the guests gasped and his family looked worried, my family looked upset with me. Honestly I was a little scared. Until Thomas started chuckling under his breath. That's when everyone let out a sigh of relife.
It was all so weird to me, was Thomas short tempered or something?
We went back to our table and shared the slice, and then his family then pulled me to the side.
"We've never seen Thomas in such a good mood." His mother commented.
I looked back at him and he had a straight face again.
"Even if his emotion is hard to read, take it from someone who's know him his whole life, he's very happy today, and that display with the frosting, he wouldn't let that slide with just anyone, you know?"
I chuckled nervously
"He seems to like you a lot. You have my blessings."
I smiled and thanked her then went back to Thomas, he then put his hands on my hips and had me sit on his lap. It made me giggle because his face expression never changed, he didn't smile. He was just being himself I guess.
"Do you know why I like you James?" He asked me.
"No, why?"
"You're being yourself, you're not trying to act any other way, and I like that about you, you're being honest with yourself and who you are."
I blush, "T-Thank you."
We kissed each other again. I couldn't stop blushing my face was very red. The wedding went on for a while longer until we were finally sent on our honeymoon.
I think I can see this working out.
