2nd: Hunters
James looked at the steam as he tried to warm up his fingers as he waited for Thomas inside the house where he kept him.
It was a nice house, with a big library so Thomas couldn't get bored, with enough supplies in case he needed, and far away from any human being but himself to keep Thomas and the others safe.
"James! You came!" Thomas said smiling widely showing his fangs by accident.
"Of course I came. You know that I'll always come" he said smiling back at him and walking inside the house.
He walked to the sofa near the chimney to warm up, Thomas following him behind and lay down so James could pet him. James smiled and played with his ears and hair as Thomas smiled and closed his eyes.
James sighed as he looked at the fire as the memories of the last couple of months were repeating in his mind.
Thomas and he were hunters. More specifically, monster hunters.
They were partners since they finished with their training and they kept each other backs. They were the best in their job and kept an impeccable record of kills and catches. Until the accident.
One night they were attacked by a werewolf when they were having a day off of work. James was fine, just a few scratches and bruises. Thomas, however, got infected.
They didn't found out until Thomas suffered his first transformation. After that James told the rest of their coworkers that they were going to retire, but they'll keep their weapons just in case something happened. They didn't have any problem, and James soon left with Thomas, who quit his job and worked from home but once a month he moved to that house to keep himself away from people since he didn't want to hurt anyone.
And now they were there, 10 months later in a small house in the middle of Virginia, Thomas with his head on James' lap, listening to the fire crackling in the chimney with James playing with his ears and hair hiding from the rest of the world, but that didn't bother him. After being bitten and turned, he learned to enjoy little things in life.
He was getting sleeping in one peaceful place, next to the man he loved, and he couldn't feel happier than that.
//I had a busy weekend, so yeah...
