Tumhari tabiyat toh theek ha na?" she asked. Ignoring her voice which hinted worry he questioned her back in a cold voice "tum yahan kya kar rahi ho?" "mujhe tumse baat karni hai om" she replies to which he says "what do you want to talk about with a drug addict like me" "om i'm so sorry, at that time i was so irritated that i blurted out shit" she explained as her eyes started to tear up. "shit" he screeched as his eyes widened in exasperation ."it wasn't shit gauri, you just let out what was bottled up in your heart.didn't you?" "no om, your taking me wrong,it's just" he cut her in the middle "it's just that your ego hurt when a drug addict rejected you"

"just stop it om"  she pleaded with her tears flowing down. "itna sa kaha maine aur tumhe itna bura lagaya? Uss din toh tumne bohot kuch kaha tha na, socho mujhe kitna bura laga hoga...... To hear it from you. I've heard a lot of people call me a drug addict, my own father called me a hopeless drug addict. But I never gave a damn about it. Because I didn't care about those people. But when you told the same thing which these people called me, I felt something break here (he says pointing his heart)

"I'm sorry om. I'm sorry" she whispers in a defeated tone and got up to leave. Om caught her hand and stopped her from leaving "tumhe aur kuch nahi kehna" he asked which surprised both him and gauri. "what's there to say om? Sab kuch toh maine ussi din keh diya tha" she replies with her head hung down. After a small pause sensing that om didn't want to let go of her hand she continued "I was selfish om. I was only thinking about myself, about my happiness. Maine tumhare baare mein toh socha hi nahi. I never thought that you had just come out of such a big trauma. I never thought that you were just reunited with your daughter" (a small silence followed) "just let everything out gauri" om requests her. "woh kehte hain na khali dimag Shaitaan ka ghar hota hai, my condition was the same. That day when I came to meet you, my condition was the same, I was blank. I didn't know what I was going to tell you, i just knew that I had come to agree to your proposal "

When om heard this, his grip on Gauri's hand loosened. He held gauri by her chin and looked into her eyes. Gauri's swollen and red eyes met his teary ones, followed by a small eye lock. Unable to bare the intensity of om's stare, gauri lowered her head and continued "yes om. I had come to agree to the proposal but then I heard you and Ira speak. I mistook it and lashed out at you. I was really broken om. You were, no, you are my first love. I didn't want to loose you, but I thought you didn't love me and were just playing with my feelings for ira. Then your constant efforts to contact me really irritated me. That day I finally lost my cool and bohot kuch bol diya. I shouldn't have said all that. Please mujhe maaf kardo. I'm sorry " with that said she broke into hysterical sobs.
Om wasn't able to see gauri in such a state. He moved forward and hugged her. Gauri hugged him back and cried loudly. Om rubbed and made small circles on Gauri's back in order to calm her down. She slowly started to calm down and mumbled sorries against his chest. Om slowly broke the hug and cupped her face in his hands. Gauri avoided eye contact. Noticing this om said "gauri jo hua so hua. Let's forget it and move on". "please mujhe chod kar mat jao om. I won't be able to live without you" she said "tumhare bina toh main bhi nahi jee paunga. Issi liye we have to move on from our past and plan for OUR future" gauri asked him as her eyes pooled with tears "you are not angry with me anymore? Tumne mujhe maaf kardiya?" om nods positively "but I had insulted you so much that day aur tumne itni asani se maaf kardiya?" gauri asks to which he says "agar tumne mujhe insult kiya hai toh maine bhi toh tumhe insult kiya hai" gauri looks at him curiously as om continues "when a lady as beautiful as an angel proposes you and you reject her, toh angel ki insult hi hui na" he explains. Gauri looks at him with admiration and then hugs him. She whispers "I love you a lot om. Please mujhe kabhi bhi chod ke mat jaana. Agar tum mujhe chhod ke chale gaye toh main mar jaungi" "shhh" he silences her as he broke the hug and kept a finger on her lips. "abhi marne ki baatein nahi. Usme kafi waqt hai. Abhi hume ek saath jeena hai, apni zindagi nayi tareeke se jeeni hai, achi se yaadein banani hai, ek dusre ke khwaab poore karne hai. Ek dusre ko poora karna hai." he again takes her into a hug and promises "aaj se, aur abhi se meri har ek dhadkan mein sirf aur sirf tumhara naam hoga. Though you are not my first love, but till I take my last breath, jisme abhi bohot sara waqt hai, my each and every breath will belong only to you" "itna pyaar karte ho mujhse?" she asks "isse kai zyaada" "itna pyaar karoge toh ira jealous nahi ho jayegi?" she asks trying to lighten the emotional mood "hmmmm sochne ki baat hai" om too let go off the emotions. "But on a serious note, Ira is going to be very happy when she comes to know that we've sorted out our differences" Gauri tells "she always wanted you as her mother..... If you wouldn't have agreed for the marriage I wouldn't have married anybody" om says and gauri asks curiously "why is that so?" he puts his hands on her waist and replies "because I can't imagine anyone else as the mother of my children" Gauri wriggles her eyebrows and asks "children?" om slowly pulls her closer "haan shaadi ke baad humare bache honge na" he says to which she asks "abhi se bachon ke baare mein sochna shuru kar diya?" she asks "agar mera bas chale toh main abhi....." he wantedly leaves the sentence incomplete. A tinge of red creeps up Gauri's cheeks, she was about to something but om brings her more closer and says "kitne bache honge ye tumhari marzi. Jitne bhi ho mere liye kam hai" he pulls her even more closer and continues "woh kuch tumhari tarah honge aur kuch meri tarah" her cheeks turn the darkest shade of red. Om tries pulling her even more closer but she pushes him back, he slightly moves back as he hadn't seen it coming. Taking advantage of the situation gauri runs out of the room but not before muttering a "besharam" loud enough for him to hear. And he too shouts back "un gulabi galon ko dekhne ke liye main kuch bhi kar sakta hoon" knowing well she heard him.

So this is officially the last chapter of this book. A huge huge huge thanks to each and everyone who has stayed with me throughout the whole journey which lasted for more than a year. Very soon I'll post the last and final part and then this book will come to an end.
