Gauri picked her phone up in a hurry with a hope that it was om. "hello" she said with an urgency in her voice but what she heard next made her fall back with shock. Her phone slipped from her hand and she let out a loud cry. Hearing her cry her dadi maa came in worried.

"gauri what happened bachcha?" she asked caressing Gauri's hair but gauri kept silent. Dadi maa repeated her question but gauri still kept silent as tears slipped from her eyes. Dadi maa shook gauri hard to bring her out of shock. Gauri turned towards dadi maa and more tears fell from her eyes. She started muttering random words. "om..... hospital...... accident.... Nahi.... Kuch nahi hoga..." dadi maa couldn't make out anything so asked her to talk clearly. "rudra ka phone tha. He said that om met with an accident. He's in the hospital and his condition is critical. Usse kuch nahi hoga na dadi maa? Kuch nahi hoga na?" she hugged her tight and cried her heart out. Even dadi maa's eyes became moist hearing the news." nahi hoga. Kuch nahi hoga om ko. He'll be perfectly fine. He's a fighter" she consoled. "now wipe your tears and go. He needs you" she said. Gauri wiped her tears and rushed out to the hospital.

Gauri saw the oberoi family waiting outside the emergency room for the doctor to come out. Anika was trying to console Shivaay who was consoling a hystrical rudra. Pinky was consoling dadi and jhanvi. Shakti was completing the hospital formalities and to Gauri's suprise tej and ira were consoling each other. Gauri was about to ask them what had happened when the doctors came out. The whole family along with Gauri gathered around the doctor asking about om's wellbeing .

S:doctor how's my brother?

R: O thik toh ho jayega na? 

G: doctor say something na?

D: relax everybody . Omkara is out of danger.nothing to worry. Just some minor  injuries. A week of bed rest and he'll be fine. He's currently unconcious . You'll can meet him when he wake's up.

Saying so the doctor left.

G: bade bhaiya hua kya hai om ko. How did this accident happen.

S: according  to the doctor om nashe ke halat mein gaadi chala raha tha.

G(shocked): om ne phir se drugs liye.

R: drugs nahi di. O was drunk.

A: i don't understand why did om drink so much.

S: om is fine now anika. Ek baar usse hosh aa jaye toh hum ussi se puchlenge.

Gauri starts shedding more tears knowing the reason very well. That night gauri stayed back at the hospital with ShivRu.

The next day morning, gauri stood outside om's ward and peeped inside through the circular glass. What she saw broke her heart. Om lay lifeless with a big bandage around his head and many machines monitoring his vitals. Tears again made a way through her eyes.

G: I'm sorry om. You're here because of me. Agar main kal woh drama nahi karti toh you would have been fine. Main woh dard nahi sehna chahti thi jo dil tootne par hota hai. I wanted to save myself from that pain and in process I hurt you. Tum ek baar theek ho jao we'll sort out all the differences between us. I promise.

She looked down as she felt a tug at her shawl. There stood Ira. Her round almond eyes brimming with tears. Behind Ira stood Anika. " gauri, ShivRu kahan hain?" she asked. "canteen gaye hain" gauri replied "main aati hoon, Ira ka khayal rakhna" she said and went in search of her husband. Gauri bent down and wiped Ira's tears and said

G: Ira tum roo kyun rahi ho? You know that your papa can't see you in tears, right? (ira nods) now stop crying.

I: papa theek toh ho jayenge na?

G: tumhare papa bohot strong hain. He'll be fine.

Gauri hugs ira and assures herself too. Gauri makes Ira sit on the chair and turns to go towards the ward door but ira stops her by holding her hand and signals her to sit. "i have a request, gauri aunty" said Ira making gauri shocked "what is it Bachcha" she asked still in shock "I know aap meri mumma nahi banna chahte par papa aapse bohot pyaar karte hain. Don't leave him because of me. I promise I'll never call you mumma but please marry papa. He won't be able to live without you" said Ira as her eyes filled with tears again. Gauri takes Ira into a tight hug and cries listening to her request. "please gauri aunty papa se shaadi karlo" she cries "bacha shaant ho jao" gauri consoles ira "I promise once your father recovers I'll marry him and I'll become your mumma too" Ira looks up at gauri still cuddled in a hug "you'll really become my mumma and marry papa?" she asks innocently to which gauri nods and kisses on her forehead.

After making sure Ira had stopped crying, gauri gets up to go towards om's ward but ira again stops her by holding her hand and shakes her head silently telling gauri not to leave her alone. "I'm not going anywhere baby. I'll just go and see your papa through that hole. Okay?" she says cupping Ira's face. Ira raises her hand and indicates gauri to pick her up and says "mujhe bhi papa ko dekh na hai" gauri picks her up and walks towards the door. Ira peeped through the hole and saw  her papa sleeping. She kissed the glass and muttered "get well soon papa"

Hello guys,
Long time right? I've got a really packed up schedule with my semesters and CA exams coming up (I'm not learning though 😉😝)

After a really long time I've updated something and I don't know how it is. Just let me know through your votes and comments.

About the next update, I'll be publishing one or two more chapters and then I'll become chumantar again (might be till December) But guys I'm not leaving this book half way. How much ever long it takes I'll surely Complete it (however it's almost reached it's end, just a few more chapters)
