Om just kept staring at her trying to process what he had just heard.  After a prolonged silence he let out a troubled sigh and held Gauri's shoulders and made her stand. He again stared in her eyes which held hope. There was all kinds of thoughts going on in his mind. Finally he shook his head

O: gauri........ I don't know.... I don't know how you would take this but... I never had feelings for you.... I have always.....always looked up to you as a friend.... A best friend. Nothing more than that. And more over you deserve someone..... Someone better than me. I hope you get the happiness you deserve..... Cause I.. I will never be able to give you that.... Have a great life ahead gauri. And...... I'm sorry.....

With that said he walked away with tears brimming in his eyes, leaving behind a heart broken gauri, who kept staring at the flower in her hand.

Om wipes his tears which had almost dried and looked out of the window and soon realized it was wee hours of morning. He made himself comfortable on a sofa and tried to fall asleep but a few haunting memories made it difficult. After trying for sometime he successfully slept.

On the other hand hand gauri too had a sleepless night. She was seated, thinking of all the things that had happened in the last few months. She thought of how om rejected her proposal, how humiliated she felt when he didn't even except her flower, how she avoided him, how she left oberoi mansion after a few days, how she was in touch with the whole family except him, how she had met him yesterday, how he reacted knowing about her wedding plans.

Kyun om? jab mujhse pyaar hi nahi karte toh meri shaadi ki baat sun ke ayse kyun react kiya. Aur agar mujhse pyaar karte ho toh mujhse dur kyun bhagte ho? Why are you sooo confusing?

It was soon afternoon. ShivRu went to om's studio to have a check on him as he hadn't come down for breakfast but they were shocked to see om sleeping. They rushed towards him to check whether he was alright as it was so unlike him to sleep till afternoon. Sensing their hands on him om woke up and looked at them with a dazed expression.

O: guys.... You here? that too early morning?

R: it's afternoon O

O(with squinted eyes):what? Afternoon?

S(nodding) : you had a sleepless night I see. Anything related to last night?

O(defeated sigh): I don't wanna talk about it, again, please.

S: ok fine. Unless and until you are ready we won't talk anything related to you and gauri.

R: but remember O, you are losing a gem.

They start walking out but stop midway when they hear om speak. They look at each other and share a small smile. They turn around and walk towards him and sit on either sides. Once they were settled om repeats what he said.

O: i love her guys

R(feigning innocence): who O?

O(irritated): ofcourse rudy, it's gauri.

S: finally you realized it.

O: I knew it since a long time.

S(shocked): what? Toh ab tak apni feelings kyun chupa rahe the?

O: i don't know

R(irritated): kaisa banda hai yaar yeh? Kabhi kehta hai pyaar hai, kabhi kehta hai pyaar nahi hai.

S:rudy please shut up. And om, what do you not know.

O: it's all so confusing. I know I love her but I also know that she deserves someone better. Then when I come to know that she's gonna move on, I'm not able to digest it. It's like I don't want her in my life but at the same time I can't imagine a life without her.

S(chuckles): maine socha bhi nahi tha ki, out of all people, hum tujhe advice denge, that too on love.

R: oh hello!!! What do you mean by "hum" haan? Main toh love guru hoon hi, aap hi Stone Singh Oberoi hain.

S :oh really

Knowing very well that they would pick up a fight on such a silly topic, he gets up to leave but they get a hold of him and pull him down.

S:on a serious note, you really rejected Gauri's proposal cause you think she deserves someone better than you?

O: I have a really bad past Shivaay. Not only gauri, nobody deserves a guy like me.

S: don't say like that. Aur tujhe kya lagta hai gauri ko tere past ke bare mein nahi pata?

R: she knows you in and out O

S: and then too she went ahead to propose you.

O:but how do you know about the proposal

S: you remember, you were recording the party... Tab hi woh proposal bhi record ho gaya tha.

R: not exactly bhaiya. Sirf dono ki awaaz record hui thi.

O: leave it. Thinking of it, jo tum dono keh rahe ho about her excepting me with my past, woh sab sahi hai, why didn't I think about it first.

S: kyunki iss duffer ke saath reh reh ke tu bhi duffer ban gaya hai.

R(scowling): baat O ki chal rahi hai meri nahi.

S: maine jo kaha sahi kaha anyway om you are nobody to decide what she deserves. It's her decision.

R: exactly O. She proposed you cause she loves you with your past.

O(sceptical): you really think so (ShivRu nod) agar main ab jaake usse kahun ke I love her and I'm ready to marry her , do you think she will agree?

S(shaking his head in a no) : agar pehle hi bata deta toh shayad maan jaati, par ab.......

R: par ab aap ko unhe pata na hoga. Aur bohot saare paapad belne padenge.

O(determined): I'm ready to do anything for her rudra.

That night the whole oberoi family was seated on the dining table for dinner. Like always rudra and ira were up to their own masti and others were laughing at their antics when Om spoke shocking every one.
