Love at First Sight
Captain Palpatine had Anakin, Carmine, and Ahsoka march behind him as they passed through the hall toward the throne room.
"Company, halt!" Palpatine exclaimed.
But the three bumped into each other as Anakin, who was in front as the oldest, suddenly stopped.
"Now, the three of you wait here while I prepare Princess Padme and Prince Boba for your first impression." the captain told them. And he entered the throne room, leaving the three alone.
Anakin smiled proudly as he looked at the closed doors, and then he looked to his friends.
"This is it, guys. The moment we've been waiting for." said Anakin. "Now, when these doors open, we've gotta make a great first impression."
"I can't believe we're really gonna meet the princess!" Ahsoka said, excitedly.
"Remember, we're on duty. This place could be crawling with bad guys."
"Bad guys?" Carmine said, getting nervous.
"That's what we're protecting the royal family from." Anakin pointed out, helping his twin straighten up. "So, all three of us must stay alert."
"You heard him, Snips. Stay alert."
"I think you also need to stay calm." Ahsoka said.
"Please, I'm the perfect picture of calm." Carmine crossed his arms. "In fact-"
Inconveniently, a spider lowered in front of Carmine.
"AHH!"
And Carmine backed right into a suit of armor and knocked it down.
"Carmine!" Anakin and Ahsoka exclaimed.
Carmine popped out from the pile of broken armor, wearing the helmet. He lifted it off his face, and found his glassed were missing.
"That spider came out of nowhere." Carmine said, looking around as his vision was blurred. "Where are my glasses?"
Meanwhile, Palpatine stood before the Crown Princess and young prince as they sat in their thrones.
"Your royal highness," said Palpatine. "It is with great honor that I shall introduce you to the finest men to protect you and your son today."
As Palpatine gave a speech, Caroline came by the royal family.
"Seems like this may take a while." Caroline said. "I'll get you a little snack."
And she left.
"I have taken it upon my highly trained eyes to see their true potential. They are young, strong, and top of their classes." Palpatine said.
"Yes," said Padme, looking as bored as the six-year-old beside her was, the child practically asleep. "Well, Naboo thanks you and your eyes very much."
"Well then, it is without further ado that I present for your complete safety and protection... your Jedi-teers."
And the doors opened to reveal... Carmine straightening his glasses as Anakin and Ahsoka were putting the armor back together. Anakin didn't notice, as he had his back turned, but Ahsoka quickly tapped his shoulder and saluted towards the princess, as did Carmine once his vision was clear again.
Padme was confused at first. These three were the best Palpatine could find? Three Jedi-teers who break a statue? Not the best first impression.
But, then Padme got a look at the third musketeer when he turned to face her, and she felt an odd sensation when he looked at her. And he suddenly had the same look of surprise as she did, as though they were glancing into each other's eyes from a distance.
Padme could see his eyes were such a stunning shade of blue. And he had a rather charming smile when he overcame his initial nerves.
The three new Jedi-teers entered the room and bowed before the princess.
"What are your names?" Padme asked.
"I'm Anakin Jinn-Skywalker, Your Highness. Son of Musketeer Qui-Gon Jinn. This is my twin brother Carmine, and Ahsoka Tano-Koon, daughter of Musketeer Shaak Ti and Plo Koon."
Padme recognized all those names. She didn't spend a lot of time with the Musketeers, but her family knew many of the greatest ones.
"I knew your father, Anakin and Carmine. He was a good man." Padme said.
"Thank you, Your Grace." Carmine said, falling down.
That was when Caroline entered, and she had a little treat for Boba.
"Boba, Dear. Look what I have for you." Caroline sang, holding a cookie for the child.
Only, before the child could take it, Ahsoka karate chopped it away, Carmine held his lightsaber toward the lady-in-waiting, and Anakin got in front of Boba.
"Who do you work for?" Carmine said.
Padme was initially shocked as she saw her lady-in-waiting being interrogated like a criminal.
"I work for the princess." Caroline said, not the least bit amused by this.
"Release her immediately!" Padme ordered. "Caroline is my lady-in-waiting."
Palpatine stifled a chuckle while the three new Jedi-teers looked embarrassed.
Carmine deactivated his lightsaber and put it away.
"Ahem. You'll have to excuse them, Princess." Palpatine said. "They are freshly initiated and very eager to begin their jobs."
"We're very sorry, Your Highness." Anakin said, removing his hat in respect. "We thought she might've planned to poison your child."
"Auntie Caroline wouldn't do that." Boba said. "She's the nicest lady who works here."
Carmine blushed when he suddenly got a look at Caroline's beautiful eyes. He tipped his hat as though trying to flirt, but Caroline rolled her eyes and turned away from him, to Carmine's disappointment.
"Hmph. First time anyone's questioned my loyalty in the eight years I've served this palace." Caroline grumbled.
Padme settled down, knowing at least her musketeers were protective of her child, as she'd made it clear that while her protection was a priority, she wanted her baby to be protected as well.
"Well... I feel safer already." Padme said. "Boba?"
Boba looked at the musketeers, but looked unsure.
"Auntie Caroline usually looks after me." Boba said, crossing his arms.'
"I know, Baby. But with all that's happening, you'll need a protector with a little more fighting experience."
Palpatine felt so glad to see that the princess and the three Jedi-teers had taken the bait.
Carousella and Remix hid as Palpatine sang to himself and looked as though he'd just won the lottery.
"Uh oh." said Carousella. "When the villain is that happy..."
"It can only mean one thing." said Remix.
"Bad guy song!" the two equines said in unison, and the music began.
Palpatine:
I was born to cheat and lie
I'm a mean, rotten guy
When you ask me why I'm nasty
Here's my reason why
Sidious came into his office, where on his desk sat a picture of an old woman that was signed, Love, Mom
At that stork delivery
Mommy screamed
Woe is me, such a dork
Hey, Mister Stork, behold my misery
Palpatine sat in his chair and activated a secret passage into what led to his lair.
Sheev is ghastly, he's a blob
Sheev's a nasty, naughty slob
Can it, sister, I'm the mister who will get the job
Palpatine rode a special craft that sped through a tunnel and when side to side, to and fro, over and under a series of twists and turns until it stopped at his lair.
So I'm nasty, I'm no good
I'll be king, knock on wood
I'll impress ya, though I'm just a common lowly hood, ha!
If you can't be loved, be feared
Don't get shoved, sheep get sheered
Be the king, pull the string, or else, you might get speared
I'm so happy, I could dance, seize my chance, I'll advance
Come and cheer me, love me, fear me
Naboo will be mine!
"Afternoon, Lieutenant." Palpatine greeted, passing through. "Watch out for the guard droids."
"What?" Rex said, only for battle droids to enter the scene.
And Palpatine arrived at his throne, putting on his dark cloak
Come and cheer me, love me, fear me
Naboo will be mine!
But, the music stopped at that moment
Why'd the music stop?
Palpatine put on his hood as a new visitor soon came to see him.
In came an older man with gray hair. He wore a uniform similar to that of the Jedi-teers. However, the symbol of the Jedi had been removed and replaced by the symbol of the Sith. His name was Dooku, Count of Sorreno.
He knelt before Darth Sidious.
"You've summoned me, my lord?" said Dooku.
"I trust you have found me the men for the job?" said Sidious.
"I have, my liege."
Dooku clapped twice, and in came three people. Two females, and one male.
Two of them were pale-skinned humanoid female figures. One had a long ponytail and an antenna sticking out of her head, while the other was bald.
The first was named Aurra Sing, a very dangerous, notoriously known ruthless bounty hunter. The second was Asaajj Ventress, a former Jedi Padawan turned a Sith when she was denied the rank of Musketeer due to her failing her mental examination despite her undeniable physical and strategic abilities.
And the third was a male figure with a monstrous face of red and black with sharp horns. A Sith named Darth Maul.
"We meet again, Lord Sidious." said Maul.
"You know this guy?" said Aurra.
"A former apprentice of mine." said Sidious. "Before you ran off and disappeared from this kingdom."
"I killed that Jedi as you ordered. I was nearly killed by another." Maul said. "I'm ready to take on a harder mission now."
"That is yet to be determined." Sidious said. "Now listen up, as I will only say this once. In eighteen days, Princess Padme will be crowned queen. If I am to be king, she must disappear."
"You wish for us to terminate the princess, my liege?" said Ventress, eager to get to work.
"Not at this moment. She may prove of use to me. That is why I wish for you to capture her and lock her in a secure facility somewhere where no one will find her. And I have the place in mind."
"Master... you don't mean...?" said Maul.
"The Citadel."
"But the princess is no Jedi." Ventress pointed out.
"But her bodyguards are." said Sidious. "Therefore, it is the perfect spot to ensure no Jedi-teer will come to her rescue. I believe I've made myself clear?"
The three paid villains looked at each other and came to an agreement. Aurra spoke for all of them.
"Crystal clear."
